Oh MalleyParticipantI swear.. every FPS you bring up will just be countered with that argument every time. Guess what? Greatest game ever? PONG! Yeah.. we wouldn’t have video games without PONG. /thread.
See now how stupid that argument sounds?
Oh MalleyParticipantGranted.. I think it would be heavenly if the club owned some TVs. Just lock ’em up somewhere until LAN days.
Oh MalleyParticipantMainly Zas, Maxi, and Tira.
Oh MalleyParticipantBecause of my renewed interest in fighting games again.. I’m gonna be working on my SC skills alongside SF. That and I plan on actually playing on the GB ladders as well. So I’ll probably need at least some tips.
Oh MalleyParticipantGenerally I’d expect a 2-3 business day turnaround on sponsor e-mails. Just keep us posted Ephraim.
Oh MalleyParticipantIf anyone does contact a sponsor, let us know.. so we don’t end up assaulting the poor people. I’ll be working on a few sponsor e-mails as well as scouting for more prospective sponsors in the upcoming week.
Oh MalleyParticipantSo.. where is this meeting at again?
Oh MalleyParticipantYeah.. I’d rather us not kill each other. I’d probably break Bitey if I ran into or tackled him.
Oh MalleyParticipantBout time you reared your ugly head in here. lol. Finally dinged 60 on my pally there Adam. – Mike aka Ohmar.
Oh MalleyParticipantyeh. Surprisingly there a lot of people from the Whee at that show.
Oh MalleyParticipantI at least made everyone aware that it does exist and if anyone is going to be sending e-mails to sponsors that they should do it from that e-mail account. If they’ve received the login info, I have no idea.
Oh MalleyParticipantI’ll definitely have to get some more game time in before the LAN.
Oh MalleyParticipantHonestly, I don’t know if I’ll go.
Oh MalleyParticipantBitey, might I recommend you ask to borrow Kaz-Ka’s ban hammer? Just as a favor between presidents of the club?
Oh MalleyParticipantDo you still need a RB2 disc John? Tallgeese (Daniel) has mine currently.. I’ll have him bring it tonight if you’ll bring your box.
Oh MalleyParticipant..There’s a simple reason why. No general info fliers. We have flyers for LANs, but none for our website and actual club. We attempt to recruit people into the club when they’re distracted by all the LAN festivities. And then we sit there and wonder why hardly anyone shows up to meetings or the site.
Oh MalleyParticipantIt’s Casey, predominately plays Halo 3. Lives with Omen. Big goofy mofo. Hangs out with all the App kids though.
Oh MalleyParticipantI might be depending on the time and what games would be most likely be played.
Oh MalleyParticipantNow Mitch must hack the 360 to use Mouse and Keyboard for gaming.
Oh MalleyParticipantWorks for me. Hope the off-campus peeps don’t mind the extra battle for parking or walking if it comes to being held at Central.
Oh MalleyParticipantI’m pretty sure you do have to have some amount of skill and teamwork. Prizes are only awarded for the top 64 teams. Currently, there’s 400+ teams registered on the ladder. And some of the top teams have already played 20+ matches. And I’m assuming the way it’ll work is the top 64 teams at the end of some preset time will play in a tournament, where they’ll have a week to find a time to play their scheduled match. Maybe I’m wrong, didn’t bother to read the full set of rules. Remember, it’s Gamebattles. You’re competing against people who devote themselves to the game.
If you’re going to play on the ladder, I suggest you learn and understand how Gamebattles matches are set-up, conducted, and how to handle disputes and file support tickets. And make sure someone on your team either has a capture card or a digital camera.

Maybe we should start putting up sliers that say “Join the WCU Gaming Club! Visit wcugaming.org! PC and Console Games!” Something like that. No dates necessary. Just letting people know we are around. Bringing back those gaming desks we used to hold before each LAN might be a good idea too. That’s what I’ve been pushing for all along. We just need general info fliers. I’m more likely to read a flier than visit an info table.
Oh MalleyParticipantI haven’t seen as many new PC people.. probably the reason why there’s no up-and-coming PC people at all. We need to just advertise the club’s existence.. Seriously.

Oh MalleyParticipantYou still have that SNES? I’d take it off your hands for $15.
Oh MalleyParticipantI’ve heard both sides of the spectrum on this one. I’m not going to buy it until I play it.. but then again, I’ve liked the MK series, but never been all that great at it. I’ll stick to playing Ultimate MK3 on my 360 for that fix. We’ll see how the new batch of fighters coming up stand up to it.

Best post in this whole *edited* threadty. In my opinion, it’s true. I choose 360 because it fits my needs. I don’t mind paying for on-line play. I love it, therefore I pay for it. I’m mainly an FPS guy, so I prefer the 360 style controllers because it feels natural and comfortable to me. Plus it’s got 2 big name franchises exclusive to it that are shooters. The Netflix is a bonus. So I like it. I don’t own a PS3 because I feel it’s out of my budget, I have no real need for a blu-ray player, and right now, none of the exclusive games really interest me. As far as the Wii goes, there’s maybe 3 or 4 games that I’m interested in, but I wouldn’t play for more than a month. The 360 fits me rather well.
I’m sure the PS3 fits others better than me and the same goes for the Wii. As far as LAN stuff goes, I pick what’s hot in the competitive world and choose platforms based on what I know is available and on-hand as far as our usual LAN-goers own.
There’s no need for a *edited*ing contest on saying “X is better than Y.”
Oh MalleyParticipantI’ll definitely have to check into this when I get a chance. Get another guy from campus to play as well.
Oh MalleyParticipantThat just makes me think of Left 4 Bed. If you haven’t seen it, go YouTube it.
Oh MalleyParticipantI’m just looking for progress across the club. I think finally a majority of us are on the same page saying something needs to be done. Maybe this’ll be a new era for WCU Gaming.
Oh MalleyParticipantI still see plenty of people playing Halo 3, Call of Duty 4 and Call of Duty: World at War, as well as Left 4 Dead. People may only be talking about GoW and Fable as of late due to the latest updates on those titles. Gears of War 2 is getting a title update to fix all the glitches that cripple its multiplayer and Fable II just had an expansion DLC release. Plus in our neck of the woods, namely the tF guys, we’ve got a solid group of people still playing NCAA Football ’09. Plus there’s always Rock Band and Guitar Hero, but again, with the exception of H3 and L4D, the other games are found on PS3 as well.
Honestly, I say the systems are fairly equal. It’s just a matter of which one satisfies your needs / wants with the fewest sacrifices.
