Oh MalleyParticipantHeh, we can always use more community oriented people. I think a couple of us will end up translating for you as well.
We’re trying to piece together a Halo team again, but we’ve got plenty of raw talent and people willing to help out.
Oh MalleyParticipantYea. People will *edited* and whine no matter what we decide. If you put it all on PS3, then you’ll have 360 gamers *edited*ing. If you dedicated it to one system only, then the other faction will *edited*. Honestly, I doubt many people will care which platform they play on. I think the only people that will care is if they think they’ll have an advantage on playing on one particular system. And honestly, I doubt that would make much of a difference at all. Just remember Mike, no matter what you decide to do, there will be a group of people that will always complain. It just gets annoying when it’s prominent people in the club. It happens, but you’ve still got to stand firm to your decisions and do what you think will work best and most efficiently.

Oh MalleyParticipantAs a reference, Gamebattles has banned Seth and with options to ban Akuma and Gouken. Dunno why they would allow options for the latter two. Oh well. I’ll probably start competing on there eventually as well.
Oh MalleyParticipantDepends on how many people can get their hands on them before the tournament. Honestly, I don’t care how it’s run. We just need to decide on something and stick with it.
Oh MalleyParticipantMike, I don’t know your plans for break, but I plan on being here the entire thing. So if anyone is on or around campus during Spring Break wants to play some SF or anything else I got, they’re more than welcome to come over.
Oh MalleyParticipantIt’s like a 6-button gamepad. Think like.. the Sega Genesis 6-button controllers with two additional triggers at the top.
Or…
360 controller featuring Ken.
PS3 controller featuring Akuma. There’s 5 different graphics for both systems. Akuma, Ken, Chun-Li, Ryu, and Blanka.
Granted, there are also actual arcade fighting sticks, starting out at $80 a pop. That’s assuming you can find it in a store.
Oh MalleyParticipantYou get used to it after awhile. The only one that’s obscenely awkward is Vega’s. And honestly, I don’t believe Seth’s attacks have decreased damage. If anything, they are equal or more powerful.
Oh MalleyParticipantSeth’s debatable. He is seemingly overpowering just do to his move set. He’s the only one that I would debate blocking. As far as stage selection and counter-picking, I don’t know if that’s necessary either. I’ll look up what’s used normally and use that as a reference.
Oh MalleyParticipantThat’s fine. I’m trying to snag at least another one possibly.
Oh MalleyParticipantI will be once I get my gamepad.
Oh MalleyParticipantOkay with me.
If we do a one-system set-up.. I recommend SC be on PS3 and SF be on Xbox 360. I think we have more copies on 360 for SF.
Oh MalleyParticipantI think what Kaz-Ka was suggesting was make one tournament PS3 only and the other one Xbox 360 only.
Either way has its pros and cons. I say we make a final decision on Thursday.
Oh MalleyParticipantKen is definitely winrar.. but I’m definitely digging Abel. And it’s A-BELL. Not A-Bul! Stupid announcer.
Oh MalleyParticipantHonestly, I don’t think we’ll have an issue. At our next meeting, we’ll evaluate how many copies of each game we have and for what systems we have them for. It’d be different if we simply had a gross number of one game on one system and the other game on the other system.. but I think it’s spread fairly evenly.
Oh MalleyParticipantI thought we figured it out that we wouldn’t start doing Street Fighter until towards the end of the Soul Caliber bracket. And even then, we’d still have at least 1 360 and a couple PS3’s running Soul Caliber. That was my understanding. We have several more copies of Soul Caliber than we do Street Fighter. But, whatever you guys want to do is fine with me.
Oh MalleyParticipantYeah. Daniel and I were debating allowing Seth or not.
Oh MalleyParticipantYou forgot Shaq-Fu.
Oh MalleyParticipantHmm… maybe if I get enough good footage at the next LAN.. we could make some sort of promotional WCU Gaming Club vid. Just need someone with a video camera capturing some of the action at the LAN as well to integrate with it.
Oh MalleyParticipantI think it’s really good and a solid balanced fighter. Granted, I think every character has some sort of cheap move. But, not anything that makes the game broken. It requires accurate timing and appropriate distance to be overly cheap with anyone. The characters easily balance each other. Even though I think they’re a bit heavy on the Ryu/Ken move set or style (6 total). However, I think there is enough variation between them to have them not overly identical.
Anyways, I’m open to suggestions on the upcoming LAN tournament rules. I’m thinking best of 3 rounds, best of 3 matches up until the semis. Semis would be best of 3 rounds, best of 5 matches. As far as specifics on character selection and stage selection.. not sure if that makes much of a difference or not, but I’m willing to take input and opinion from anyone who has played the game.
Oh MalleyParticipantI’ll be posting them up on YouTube for sure.
Oh MalleyParticipantWhen I clicked it, it was the link to the Teaser Trailer on IGN.
Oh MalleyParticipantHence why I respect you Shane. You’re one of the few who supported all of the changes I felt were necessary to make along the way.
Oh MalleyParticipantAnything and everything that I can hook up to it.
Oh MalleyParticipantThank you NoDice.
Oh MalleyParticipantGelTabz and MadCatz have been contacted as well.
Oh MalleyParticipantLike I have a camera.
Anyways, update.. I just ordered what I needed. Luckily I’ll have this in time to set it up in my room and do test runs myself to see how well it works. Expect to see plenty of SF matches between me and Tallgeese from an initial test batch.
Oh MalleyParticipantI was getting ready to send GelTabz an e-mail myself. As far as the others.. I thought we were divvying up the work. So I have no clue.
Oh MalleyParticipantJust sent an e-mail to Kiaeneto. Hope to see how that goes.
Oh MalleyParticipantBitey said:
What do you need to do so?Sorry Bitey.. Never realized you actually bothered to respond way back when. Right now.. I need a little box that costs roughly $150.
Just something that will have dual outputs, one of which being component. That way I can hook it up to my TV and then capture the footage on my PC. The model I’m looking at does it by USB. -
