Games are about a hell of a lot more than output resolutions. Mario RPG still a great game, Chronotrigger still a great game. None of these look anywhere near todays graphics quality but I would play them all day at any given time because they are GOOD games.

Falcon, you might try cleaning the computer, placing emphasis on third party addons. I see 3 things in the picture alone that set off alarms in my mind.

I’m guessing that you are referring to webroot which, if I say so myself, looks COMPLETELY legitimate. I use webroot all the time. It slows down my computer cause it was in TURBO MODE before. Went way too fast.

maybe me and vista just seriously don’t get along, but i’m telling you, i’ve seen more problems than one would expect.

one example you can see for yourselves… this is on my sis’s laptop, her taskbar is there but not drawing. if you hover the mouse over it in the right places, you can still get teh popups for date and time, etc, and the window previews, and you can click on anything on it. you just can’t see it.

(in this screenshot the mouse is hovering over where the sound icon should be, or is, depending on how you look at it.)

    Looks like pronz. taskkill /im explorer.exe /f

    then

    explorer =new taskbar.

#1 Nuke is awesome and never killed a server before. #2 Train is also awesome but sometimes kills the server and sometimes doesn’t. #3 Aztec and italy need to go. I played italy last night and ct side did not win a single round.

Another problem with that is SO many ppl have 1200-1250 points because they need 50 kills to get regular points… lame.

It’s actually like that on quite a few servers. It protects the regulars while still allowing new people to score points. 15 is much better than 25 and 5. With 25 the higher people get screwed a little too much. At 5, the lower people get screwed WAY too much.

You are correct when saying that rates are enforced by the server. It really depends on how much bandwidth you have to the server. If you aren’t sending/receiving fast enough to the server, higher rates will actually hurt you. The server rates are (or were when I set them up) set to 20000/45/45. I don’t see why they would have been changed unless we are taking the new ping kicker into account (assume that it works). Then the max rates could probably be safely lifted to 20000/66/66. If you ping 45 or less, 30000/101/101 are perfect rates and are the server maximums :)

It needs to be done asap. I played for about 2 hours today and watch people with 30 pings get kicked nonstop. It’s killing server pop.

sorry to bust in this parade but I would rather do this than start a new thread just to get a simple answer…I think we should go through all the maps sometime lets say an afternoon or something and get a chance to see which maps can’t work with 31 people in the pub. That way we can delete those. I know for one awp-dust is one that definitely can’t hold up. I know some of the cpl maps (NOT TDM), unless you get the modified ones, will not work also.

There are a lot of maps that just can’t work anymore with the server and you yourself said there are crazy amounts. We should do some spring cleaning…

While I don’t give a crap about the 1.6 server this sort of thing (if true) bothers me. If a map doesn’t have enough spawns points you don’t need to have it on the server at all.

This is why the WCU Belltower map isn’t played anymore.

It has always been policy not to delete things. I’ve accidentally done this 100 times doing fun stuff on the 1.6 server and not knowing what a map was or whatever. Ask NoDice, there are probably 200 maps on the 1.6 server :)

Mani pings you every 5 seconds or so. It lets you manually decide how many high pings a client gets before they are kicked. I believe it was set to 9 or something like that. May want to think about gearing it close to what mani was set up for, I know the config files are still there.

Avg free (just use the internet monitor, the others are useless) and Spybot with immunizations and 99% of the time you are golden. Also, if it says keygen anywhere in the file name AVG automatically flags it as trojan.generic 9 out of every 10 files.
