Quite frankly, its disgusting. As most of you know I am black, and of course when people drop n-bombs in-game im going to stand up for myself. Usually, and when I say usually I mean 50% of the time, whoever I talk to stops but rarely i get an apology. But what i dont understand is why when I tell someone, server-reg or not that I am black and i don’t appreciate the n-bombs that they think its funny to continue using it. I know for a fact that no one would dare drop words like that in front of me in real life-I dare them to, the internet should be no different. Are people that immature?

 

Anyway with that off my chest, I want to thank the people that appreciate me for who I am regardless of race/gender/age/ethnicity.

 

And to the admins, is it possible to put in some auto-kick mechanism for people that use racist slurs and/or swear excessively? I’ve been to servers that have things like this installed and I dont think it would be that hard in all honesty to incorporate something like that.

I think filters really turn some servers kind of lame. And I apologize for the several people earlier tonight who were dropping N bombs. And they were punished. I just hope you know I’m only teasing when I joke with you…

 

And it is our policy here I believe to keep racism out of the server, and I do try to keep the N bombs and other racial slurs out of the server while I am in. And I’m sure the other admins (hopefully) do the same…

yeah I def. have no leniency for it… you get a quick warning and on take 2 your gone, it’s never neccessary to bring racism into voice or esp chat.

On TAG’s servers the warning is in the MotD. Racism is typically given a permaban with no warning and no chance of appeal.

I don’t tolerate it at all either. I will just perm ban someone. If they file and appeal thats there business and they will win but i bet they dont do it again at least for awhile.

i warn em first, most of the time they stop, rarely have i had to ban due to racism, but sometimes thats the way it goes, i remember freeman banned himself for saying the n-word. Hopefully people will know not to bring it in here.

Racism is not tolerated in any form or fashion. If they are a server regular and you think they just slipped up please warn them but if they are not a regular ban them in accordance with how bad a violation it is, starting with 7day as a minimum. If they are a regular and just don’t seem to care consider them a non-regular and ban accordingly. I will stand behind my admins when it comes to this sort of thing. Using common sense judgements, do what you feel necessary to stop this form of abuse.

 

I will NOT overturn a racist caused tempban. Permabans can be appealed like normal but it’d be interesting to see them argue such actions.

 

Being drunk, high, or “f.ed up” will not be considered a viable excuse.

 

With that said, ban away.

Yeah I completely agree as well. I know this has been a mostly admin thread but I thought I could put some into it. I dropped the n-bomb out of pure anger and am completely and utterly sorry it was the first and last time I will ever do it. I also consider myself lucky because the admin on only gagged me for 10min.

 

I am jewish and get *edited* said to me all the time, I was hoping people with jew in the name would have to change it. For me it shows a great disrespect to my culture….such names as “jewbacca” the other day i saw “jewbagel” Most of the time I leave the server because of it.
