I raid at 9 and Thursday is a progression raid for my guild so I don’t want miss it
. I used to raid at 7:30 but now at 9, so yeah >_>;
If SC2 isn’t there I’ll punch some babies.
And even if we don’t use the joke flier Thor made, grab a flier somewhere else that others have made up and advertise it.
Here’s a simple 9 step process:
1. Take Thor’s flier and print it out in Black and White. Ask yourself, does it look good and can people still read it? If they can, step 2.
2. Grab $10.
3. Put Flier image on flash drive.
4. Take flash drive to library.
5. Print $10 worth of fliers.
6. Give fliers to Dustin, Ephraim, Tallgeese, and anyone else that wants to help.
7. Post fliers in freshman dorms (Dustin), UC (Tallgese), Coulter (Tallgeese or Ephraim), other dorms (Tallgeese or Ephraim) and other buildings (anyone)
8. ???
9. PROFIT!!!!
All in all, this would take you an entire hour at max to do so. $10 will get you ~100 fliers, plenty to get the word out and get people coming if they read it.
Now here’s the other major issue: STOP MAKING THE *edited*ING MEETINGS AT 8:30 PM FOR *edited*S SAKE. People have other things to do and still want to come, what happened to meetings at 7 or 7:30? Maybe even 8, but 8:30? Holy god.
We should utilize our current membership base and send out anyone an email about the first meeting like we’ve done in the past!
Anyone on campus try playing this yet? I just tried to play a 1v1 quick match as well as a custom and got insane lag. Said player was found, then paused for a good 5-10s, then it counted down and stayed at 0 for 5-10s and then finally when I was actually able to play.. I wasn’t actually able to play, constantly getting lag spikes every 5s or so and lasting for 2-3s, even booting to the lag screen saying it was waiting on me. Eventually the guy kicked me and I lost due to this. I sense a failure of a problem from WCU’s new filtering service they purchased.

Whenever we get some fliers (hopefully soon) you should walk up and down your halls and if you see people playing, hand them a flier and tell them about the club. Same with telling them about the first meeting, tournaments, etc.
I play some BC2 as well so let me know if you ever want to play

Microsoft’s counter to the Mac ads were the ads where they took people into stores like Best Buy, etc. and let them pick out a Window’s laptop and then Microsoft would pay for it. This was/is an extremely smart ad campaign as it advertises one of you main stores for you while proving that you can spend $700 on a Laptop that is BETTER (though the ads don’t necessarily say this) computer than spending $1500-2000 on a worse Mac. Now that Microsoft has come out with an online ad campaign (hopefully commercials too) we’ll see a lot of the Mac portrayed negatives go the way of the Dodo bird.
Yeah I was going to point out when I read this that higher isn’t spelled correctly, so good job Mr. Teach! In other news, I went to school for two years in Austin and went to a blue-ribbon public elementary school, it was fantastic. I think it was like, Rose Hill or something?
I didn’t take automated factories so that’s probably why, I always had two SCV’s coming out asap and doing whatever I could to get enough resources.
If you dont have enough resources, especially in that mission, you dont have enough workers. Repairing is fine and something that should be done, just not but an idle SVU sitting there waiting to repair. Peeling a unit off is much better instead.

was doing 2v2 earlier and i was able to pump out a carrier in 6:22 i had 4 by 9 min and a mothership by 11.
2v2 is a bit different, if you’re being attacked by two rushers then both people who are defending have to actually micro defense plus their economy, if they can’t manage both then they’re screwed. If you get attacked and your partner can’t micro a defense force to help you you’re SoL. If you use a strategy where one rushes and the other techs you could be screwed as well if you can’t micro a defense with your economy. Anyone can pump out units and tech extremely fast if you don’t have any pressure to worry about. I’d proxy a gateway and pylon near your base and have a cb’d couple of zealots on you before you could think about teching.
@Bitey: I sided with the General so had no air attacks aside from the massive wave of overseer’s Mitch’s strategy seems fine in an overly-defensive and highly-protective way. I didn’t have nearly as many bunkers and didn’t have SVU’s sitting and waiting to repair, to me that’s wasted SVU’s you could be using to stimulate your economy. An idle worker is the worst thing you could ever have. I generally had enough siege tanks to put on the pieces of land that stick out and give the siege a very good vantage point, other than that I had a couple of bunkers with some marines in them (I didn’t get the extra marines upgrade) but other than that mainly had perdition turrets guarding the entrance ways and even further out a bit. I also had some perdition turrets and some vikings sitting in my base waiting for Nydus worms to come out, the vikings were used to kill off any overseer’s that flew around and dropped creep, the perdition turrets and some extra banshees nuked down the Nydus and anything that came out. I fortified my entrances with hellion’s and a few firebats, with some space marines and maybe even marauders since I took the upgrade to make units slow when the marauders hit them. I had 4-5, maybe even 6 or more, cruisers sitting up with the relic and would immediately use the yamato on Kerrigan when she appeared, maybe one or two on ultralisks, etc. When the nydus worms would pop up in the zerg bases I would scramble about 8-10 banshees out to nuke down any nydus worm entrance, since the zerg had little to no air defense near a nydus worm. Following that strat and continuously replacing structures that Kerrigan killed I easily did it. I used the relic’s power every time it was up as well, whether Kerrigan was around or not.
If you have enough time to tech up to cruisers in SC2 then the person you’re playing against is terrible. Within the first 5 minutes I’d put some pressure on you with a nice rush
Yea the last mission was pretty cake for me, I had a sizable fleet of Battlecruisers with plenty of Banshee backups and siege tanks on any juts that could fire upon her. I had a couple of bunkers but mainly had perdition turrets incinerate anything that came close to the front. Kerrigan would come and destroy 1-2 siege tanks but wouldn’t do much more than that.
I didn’t feel as though the ending was very rushed at all, throughout the story of the game Raynor was upset and concerned with Kerrigan, it was a constant reminder for him and a motivational piece. The entire story was based around Raynor and Tychus fighting against Mengsk while collecting pieces of the Xelnaga artifacts, we just didn’t know what the Xelnaga Artifact did. The revelation of it “saving” Kerrigan was a bit abrupt, I admit, they didn’t seem to really know what exactly it would do just that it was extremely powerful. Sure it was kinda predictable with Kerrigan being saved, but that obviously doesn’t mean that Kerrigan’s role in the story is a done deal. It may be nothing but if you take a look at Kerrigan’s hair at the end it still looks like that of the Queen of Blades’ hair, in color as well as how it looks shape-wise.
I believe that Blizzard definitely knows what they’re doing, they wouldn’t have released the game if people were going to think that the story sucked or that the ending was rushed. While it may be semi-cliffhanger is definitely ties up a lot of the story while leaving plenty of room for the expansions.

There is obviously a lot of guessing that people have been doing and not much is known about “Heart of the Swarm” but I’m sure there will be plenty of story and done right from Blizzard, they haven’t lacked in the story department on their games in a while. You knew you weren’t going to get to play as Kerrigan during the terran portion of the game, why are you upset about the ending of this portion? Lol
iPod by far. The equalizer on the iPod is phenomenal and the playback, apps, etc are amazing if you get a touch. If you dont get a touch the iPod itself is still fantastic and worth every penny. If you dont like using iTunes, get over it. iTunes is one of the best music players online and allows you to edit id3 tags with ease, add album artwork, and equalize everything. If you don’t like its memory footprint while playing music, use Winamp or whatever else you could possibly use.

And yeah, Consoles are superior to PC’s in fighting games, PC’s are superior to consoles in FPS/RTS/MMO, etc.
Honestly I haven’t spoken to or asked but I can say that there is nothing to hide. For our private forums there are:
Executive – information containing contact info (phone numbers, etc) for previous execs, current execs, etc. There is also information as to how to set up the lan, how to contact sponsors, current sponsor list including their contact info, information detailing how to log in and use the administration for the website, etc.
Private Club Discussion – this forum is comprised of the alumni who were previous execs, current execs, students that were previous execs, and as well as founders. This forum just is a place where anyone who has had their part in this club can contact current execs without having to do so publicly. Information shared is the previous history and experiences that we have had as well as the information and advice that we could give.
Game Server Administration – This is a subforum group that is for our admins to communicate amongst each other.
-Game Server Admin Discussion – Self explanatory, it is a forum for the admins to contact each other. They ask the other admins about things, they bring up problems for the CL’s, etc. Anything that relates to the servers and things that need to be administrated is located here.
Sub-forums under this are:
-The server information forum – includes all of the information pertaining to our servers, including command list for our admin program that was written by our members.
-Away Forum – admins post here if they will be away for a long period of time, 2+ weeks, so they aren’t considered to be inactive and thus revoked of their admin.
That is all of our private forums.
Kazka I know you want to hear the opinions of the students the most and see them posting, etc but isn’t it also important to hear what your community says? I know you’re frustrated with the Alumni and have been for a while, so I can understand you being upset with their posts, activity, etc on this thread. In this thread alone there have been posts by myself, Thor, and Ephraim who are all students and have given their opinions on the matter. I know what matters most in these decisions is the opinions, thoughts, and desires of the students but the community consisting of non-members and non-students is huge, we value those that have come to our website and joined our community via our games and offer them a chance for their opinions and thoughts as well, even though they have no voting privileges or anything.
I’d -love- to talk to them all in a calm and peaceful environment without anyone getting upset so everything gets sorted out and we can all get together once again. Unfortunately I don’t know if Mike would want to or others, I feel as though Josh would just resort to insults and a lot of problems would rise once more. If we can talk together calmly and collected we could work out A LOT of the problems. After we met with the SGA and talked around the table I felt as though we could all work things out, then Spring Break happened and nothing happened, things got worse.
Mike if you actually read this feel free to contact me any way if you wish to talk, I have no power inside of this club but I do have somewhat of an influence since I’ve been here with Adam since the first lan, meetings, etc and know that I can talk things out calmly and without arguments, etc.
Yeah I agree we should open this to the general public, maybe get some amazing designs and ideas from people like Derrick or others. Just a note on the design posted: too much color and contrasting colors. The background is way too colorful for everything else! Plus remember we have to print these @_@
