A friend of mine is a really good Starcraft player.
I’ve played my share of RTS. I was an Age of Empires kind of guy though, won a few tournaments here and there.
I say cut maxplayers or move to the *edited*. 100tic is a perk I’m sure a lot of us would like to keep, and when people notice 100tic they will come back as well.
Besides, we never have over 24 people unless D2 ;P
Firefox 2.0 is Dice’s friend. But his lab’s laptop doesn’t have Firefox, so we’re screwed trying to read anything he types whenever he’s in his lab.

My posts stated why the AWP should not be restricted and why people need to learn to avoid it, kill it, and use it. Your posts explained how it is a woman to you and how you like to *edited* the muzzle, as the spiral grooves are your kind of fetish. My posts were clear, concise, and got to the point.

Look at it this way:
If you convince them to come and the executives notice how popular it is, then they will be more convinced to fully support the concept at the next lan, offering prizes and possibly seeking out sponsorships from console companies, etc. If people play in tournaments only to win prizes and such and not the “fame”, “glory”, and sheer fun of it all then they don’t deserve to be playing in the first place IMO. If they want to be competitive gamers and only play in tournaments for prizes and money, tell them to go move to Korea where gaming is an actual profession.
Convince people to come play, show off how much of a populous there is and popularity there is for console gaming as well as Smash Brothers.
While yes “netcode” cannot be fixed by Mani or whatever, it can be improved by increasing the server’s tickrate to 100. Unfortunately the last time gxti tried this, as he told me, it ate the CPU and caused too much stress on it.

This type of thread is so old and so overused it isn’t even funny.
People will be able to argue for or against a certain console until their eyes bleed. Basically it comes down to this, whatever you enjoy the most then buy it and play it. I don’t want to spend $600 for a PS3 right now so I’ll spend $300 to get a Wii and Smash Brothers later when it comes out for the Wii. I’ll wait to see if Sony’s Blu-ray gets off the ground more and is actually worth while and then I’ll think about getting a PS3. PS3 is only worth it for people who have HD TVs, and I really don’t want to go home just to play a PS3 I bought on the HD TVs in my house.

The AWP will always be a weapon of controversy and discussion. People will always fight for and fight against it. While this is a pub the way I look at it is this: until CAL/CPL bans it then it should stay. Restricted to one or two per team is fine, typically you don’t have more than 1-2 on a team with an AWP anyways.
Anything with a scope will typically and generally be easier to use than something without. The AWP generally gets the most feedback and criticism because it can kill in one hit. The problems as Killty stated are above, but on top of this you also have to factor in that while a “good” AWPer can take out a good portion of the team the AWPer still has to work with the team, otherwise he/she is bound to get flanked sooner or later and thus killed. Moving with the AWP is where most get problems because you have to be ABSOLUTELY still to shoot the AWP and hit the mark where you’re aiming, otherwise you’re likely to hit Kansas than your target. The weapon has its major drawbacks but also has its perks, much like every weapon in CS. As I’ve stated before, people will learn how to avoid and take on an AWP head on. As far as I can tell, those who have started to play a lot more and play against the AWP, they’re learning and have been able to

People will ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS *edited* about the AWP and Auto. Well that is until they start using one, then they shut the hell right up.
Restricting it to one per team seems to be fine for me, as most teams normally have only one anyways. But then, what’s the purpose of giving a team one AWP and letting their most skilled AWPer use it and hold it the same amount of time he/she would’ve normally used it for? The good AWPers don’t get killed easily, the crappy ones lose it in a heartbeat.
Bawls is *edited* good and since we can’t get it too effectively in this area I’ll gladly say I want more. *edited*, I’ll pay for some if need be.
Prizes look awesome, three mousepads ftw. How are the prizes going to be handed out? I mean, I know the raffle/door prizes (lets not try to give me a t-shirt again this time, k?
) but which prizes are for places for the tourneys?I agree with NoDice, I don’t believe we should implement votekick or voteban. There is always going to be someone who doesn’t want another person in there or is upset with a person. If you need an admin and there isn’t one on the server you can always join the IRC channel and one of us will come assist.
If it isn’t broken, don’t fix it. Doesn’t mean that suggestions are closed.
I recently started playing CS again and I became an admin, does that mean I’m trying to change things? No. I’m just trying to get answers to questions asked in game so that I can be informative to those with questions. I know and fully realize that not everyone is going to be happy with one choice or another. While one person may want a map change the other people may not. It is simply best to keep the rotation of maps going along and if people start leaving left and right due to a map, then it is a possibility to change the map (ask via vote first) to something so that the server becomes more populated.
