ParticipantIs backup requested and the fire need to be brought? *strikes a match*

App is crying that their server is dying to lack of support and since EVERYone at App is die hard on 1.6, they refuse to believe any of GRK’s posts about why 1.6 is dying. You’ll notice that every single one of their posts is a complete wannabe flame to him and never actually refute anything he says about 1.6. Lol immaturity.

ParticipantHP and IBM are not necessarily gaming companies and probably will not sponsor a LAN event, not to mention for consoles. Because consoles are primarily dependent on the company that produces them (Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo) they are ridiculous to find sponsors for. Luckily more companies are able to develop devices and games for the consoles.
One can just go to http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList….mp;N=2062760000 and gather a list of consoles as well as accessories and the companies developing the accessories.
Fascist Flakes (Jagr)
ParticipantHow about Logitech? They don’t provide sound devices only so it wouldn’t interfere with our SteelSeries sponsorship, would it?

I wish I knew everything…why do you go to WCU again?Haha. I actually learned the economics thing AT WCU and I remembered Trackpad talking about the pizza store when he was telling us a story about the vegans and *edited*
.Fascist Flakes (Jagr)
ParticipantTrackpad worked for a small and locally owned pizza restaurant. Dominoes is a national chain and buys much much more than the pizza place that Trackpad worked for. The cost of goods for Dominoes, each location, would be considerably less than the cost of goods for a locally owned pizza restaurant.

ParticipantThat’s how it is normally on AWP map, because generally not a lot of people can get across without being awped.

ParticipantIt’s $60 for the Mousepad, Dice. It’s $180 for the 5H USB + the mousepad. It looks pretty freakin’ sweet and if I hadn’t just bought another headset I’d definitely drop $180 for the headset and the pad.

Source is for the idiots who can’t figure out the method for 1.6.And 1.*edited* is for the idiots that can’t adjust to a newer and better physics and hitbox system, what’s your point? Why jump through hoops and do 50 things to change your spray when a person can just simply import his/her own custom spray via a file browser built in game? I guess hardcore 1.*edited* players wouldn’t know about that though, or anything new, seeing how the game hasn’t been updated or changed in years, well except to add ads to the game
.Fascist Flakes (Jagr)
ParticipantHow much it costs each Dominoes store to buy their goods is considerably less than what you think, Kuros. They buy it all in bulk and because they buy so much they’re able to get it at a ridiculously low cost. It probably costs them ~$1-2 to make the Pizza in goods because of the bulk amount they get each time a shipment comes in, if it is even that high.
Economics ftw.

ParticipantWe’ll get something worked out for this map so that there is spawn protection for 5 seconds or so, so that whenever they spawnkill the killer is slain instantly, etc.

ParticipantYou would’ve had one Dice if you would’ve come and grabbed one of the Gaming clubs’
Fascist Flakes (Jagr)
ParticipantKuros, you’re comparing a server CPU to a desktop CPU. Your Opteron would fail at gaming.
Opteron IS NOT supposed to be “better” than Athlon 64. Opteron is targeted to network servers and thus to a complete different market in mind. They can have two features not present on Athlon 64:
– Virtualization technology
– Memory controller supporting ECC memories, which provide error correction capability – a feature desirable to have on servers (in fact ECC memories are slower than regular memories due to this feature).
Regarding the difference on HT bus, this is also a problem, because the same thing can have different names. To summarize:
800 MHz HT = “1,600 MHz” HT = 3,200 MB/s HT
1,000 MHz HT = “2,000 MHz” HT = 4,000 MB/s HT
In this context 1,000 MHz and 2,000 MHz are the same thing. A detailed explanation is given on this tutorial:
http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/19
So the difference between the two CPUs is that Opteron has virtualization technology and supports ECC memories while Athlon 64 doesn’t. All the other specs are just the same.
Here’s also a funny fact, the specs on the Opteron 1220 that you linked in IRC and then the Athlon 64 x2 6000+ ARE EXACTLY THE SAME. Well, except for 200mhz more on the 6000+, but who cares about that. Either way, I’ll then bring your attention back to here and say, good game fanboy.
Fact, as of right now:
INTEL HAS BETTER PERFORMANCE IN GAMING AND MOST OTHER DEPARTMENTS THAN AMD.
Good game AMD fanboys.

ATI Mobility Radeon 9000.Dunno, it came with the computer.
We’re building you a computer this semester, yes?

I’m running an x800XL PCIe right now, but my new system is going to have a 8800GTX in it, seeing how they’re only $350 or so. Once Intel drops its prices on the 22nd of July I’ll make a decision on either the e6700 or whether I’ll go AMD. So far though, Intel it will be once more:

http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1697,1996946,00.asp
http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/intel…?i=2963&p=8
And with the new P35 chipset coming out from Intel, it’ll only be better:
http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/showd…?i=2995&p=2
But if the prices on the Intels drop enough I may even try to sneak in some SLi on the 8800GTX, just depends on budget.

ParticipantOh lawd here comes DS tryin’ to flame some Source here, givin’ off some BS info here and there.
Question DS, why is it that you are in here talking about how easy Source is and that you tear it up, have a 63% HS ratio, etc.. when in fact you’re absolutely *edited*ty.
Now seriously, why am I going to believe someone who plays an outdated and dieing game and has barely a 1.3 K:D with a little over a ~40% HS ratio. Now keep in mind that yes it is a pub, but we’re not talking about pub versus scrim here, we’re talking Source versus 1.6. Now DS, the last time I played in our school’s lan for 1.6 I won, but I play Source primarily. Please do go on about how Source is easy, etc, but yet when I look at our server stats the Source server has a ~40% HS ratio. Now, if PsychoStats actually allowed me to look at the overall percentage of headshots for 1.6, it would be higher. Now also if you look at a Source player’s stats the percentage of hits would be generally more to the chest area, seeing how a person normally hits the chest. Now if you look at 1.6’s stats for anybody, lets say you, you’ll notice that the percentage of hits goes to either the left or right arm, with some going to the head. Now, tell me DS, why is that? Could is possibly be because Source’s hitboxes are better proportioned to a person’s body than 1.6’s? Could it possibly be that the left or right arm isn’t the size of a body? Le’gasp!
The reason why most 1.6 players don’t play Source? They can’t adjust. They aren’t able to not depend on walling somebody, they’re not able to depend on sound that triggers from an event, they’re not able to handle the physics engine that actually works based on “reality” in not allowing a person to throw a grenade across a football field and then cause 60 damage to everyone in a 50 yard radius, AND they’re not able to adjust to smaller hitboxes and thus kill people more effectively.
Please DS, before you try and start any *edited*, make sure you wear your flame retarded gear and please please please get better at the game you’re calling easy, because you’re absolutely *edited*ty at it.

ParticipantIts mainly for Students at WCU since our lans are $5 entry unless you pay $10, the $10 would then cover your entrance fee for the entire year. So, that is it.
