Blah. College connections are great. Their firewalls suck. I’ll keep my cable every day.

If I had cable I’d being saying the same thing. Alas, college connection is like Valhalla compared to the mortal *edited*hole of a connection I have.

Somebody needs to um…sue or something. That’s a pretty big price difference per year between 5Mbps and 10.

I bet if I went straight from cable modem to my computer I’d be seeing a serious increase of speed. The problem is that I’m going through my router which is limiting connections and more than likely limiting speed. Every time I try to use Azureus or uTorrent it kills my connection because it floods the router with too many connections =/.

I’m going through the *edited*tiest of *edited*ty routers and I still came within 3Kbps of my connection speed, with another computer connected and downloading.

no firewalls here. IT openly says on their site that they don’t monitor traffic, block ports, block any p2p programs/protocols, or impose any restrictions whatsoever on download bandwidth. Only restriction we have is 5 GB upload limit per day, that’s all :). Means you can’t go crazy with the torrents on private trackers, but I don’t have much to complain about B).

Flash it with Tomato! I did that to mine and now it rocks. I get a 25-30 ping all the time now

(Make sure that your router is compatible with Tomato b-4 flashing)
