Say what you will, but this situation will go a lot more smoothly with a face to face open invitation meeting. Let’s stop hiding behind monitors and talk this out like adults.
What situation? The fact you guys are starting another club JUST in spite of the fact we impeached Kazka? The problem was started by those who left. Why would we want to make the other club start smoothly? Because thats the issue here. I’m all down for face to face, but I mean i hold no exec position at all. So I guess just get in touch with an exec.
The “lounge crew” as we apparently are called online, have been having issues with the alumnis for a pretty long time. That meeting was just the tipping point.
You are welcome to come, but I haven’t heard any of the higher-ups among the alumnis or The Family agreeing to meet with us, so I don’t know if there will even be a face to face. But if any other people want to get together, let me know somehow and I’ll try to help work out a time and place.
To Mitch: That isn’t the intention of our club.
The commuter lounge “crew” has had issues with alumni because the alumni and those who have invested a lot of time and effort in the club have pushed those in the commuter lounge to help work for the club instead of sitting in the commuter lounge playing BlazBlue all day. The commuter lounge has this problem with the alumni because instead of letting things go the course that it has been for the past year, the alumni and older members want to salvage what they can of what they built in the first place. If I’m wrong, I’d sure love to hear differently and more.
Meet with you? Why is there a need to meet with you? You’re wanting to get a face to face in order to attempt to “bully” the execs and probably to show them “how many” of the commuter loungers are going to say “wahhh if Kazka isn’t president we’re forming our new club and this is how many of us you’re going to lose.” Set a time, place, and detail the people who exactly will be there representing the club and I’m sure something can be worked out at a neutral, neutral, and undisclosed location and time. Of course, I’m sure a “list” of members will be brought to said meeting explaining and showing how many “support” Kazka and this “new club.”
By the way: “Provide a strong gaming community to this campus.” Uh, you mean like we already have? Or did you mean like we already have aside from the commuter loungers that are *edited*ed that their pick for president was impeached? The gaming community is fine on campus, actually quite strong, and the club is supposed to bring perspective students to WCU as well as give WCU attention. Tell me, if the intention of the “new club” is to provide a strong gaming community to this campus then why was it the main thing that draws the community together was completely neglected for two months because our president at the time forgot about it and didn’t know how nor what to do with it? Commuter Lounge is not Community for club in a whole.

I did explain in full detail. I had them before, and everything went swell. If you looking for potential power abuse, power abuse has already gone on, and the people who abused that power still have it and you don’t seem to be complaining.
Also, Liam, are you even an alumni or current student of Western?
“Full detail” entails what? 1-2 sentences of you pointing fingers and saying “I want powers back. Innocent until proven guilty?”
So now you’re going on accusing others of abusing powers and getting to keep these powers? Ah so the viscous circle goes on as to where you continuously run and point fingers at others to try and make yourself look right. Examples? Where? Who? Anyone that’s abused power in any sort of form have already had their powers revoked in the past no matter who they are.

ParticipantHe’s worried about security issues that he himself did in the past, seriously. Look at the reasons and rationale as to why things were done not just for you but also for others.
It isn’t the fact that the admins could spend a few hours going back and reverting and un-deleting posts, topics, etc that you personally removed; it’s the fact that they want to prevent it from happening again. If this was your logic and reason as to why you should get your precious powers back then I don’t blame Liam for not reinstating you.
Apparently you missed the point when I said “show you’re a mature and level-headed adult to deserve them back.“. I didn’t miss the post saying you explained why, I missed you saying “I explained in full detail to Liam as to why I should get my powers back and did so responsibly..” etc. Obviously if you PM’d him saying “Give me my powers back. Innocent until proven guilty.” then I don’t blame him for telling you to take a seat.
Fascist Flakes (Jagr)
ParticipantI’m guessing you missed this post that explains why? Liam’s given you a chance to explain your reasons why you want your privileges back and its your choice and responsibility to explain why you should get them back, as well as show you’re a mature and level-headed adult to deserve them back.

Anyone that actually gives a *edited* about gaming and is fed up with this so called “gaming club”, shoot me a message.
Wow now THAT’S a great statement. First I’d like to question the “gives a *edited* about gaming.” You were the Gaming Club President, your sole purpose as the President was to promote the Gaming Club and to draw more people to WCU via the Gaming Club, not to sit and play games while telling others what to do. The Gaming Club isn’t about sitting in the commuter lounge playing BlazBlue all day while a brand new server sits collecting dust in the office of IT that Residential Living bought for us because the President never did anything about it. The Gaming Club’s purpose, message, and overall goal is to attract perspective students to come to WCU whether by advertising through online games or through our featured LAN events. With that the President must always have the Gaming Club’s best intentions in mind and must always be looking for new ways and for the best ways to accomplish these tasks. Now, this is solely my opinion and not the Club’s or anything, but what you did Kazka seemed as though you were just using the Gaming Club as a place to play your games and use the Gaming Club’s name as a way to get things, such as the Grand Room, so that you can play them even more. The new server arrived in December and no one was told about it and nothing was done about it until late February-early March. On top of this, what all have you yourself done to ensure that the servers were up and running and were promoting the club? Do you know how to set up the servers? Have you stepped foot into IRC or even onto one of the servers? I don’t know the full story about us not having a location for the next LAN but in the past our LAN events are supposed to be scheduled a FULL SEMESTER ahead of time, as such was done when Shane and myself did it and as well as Jason, David, and of course Adam. We ensured that we had locations for our LANs MONTHS in advance and nothing could have changed these dates on us.
Now of course you imply you’re going to form a “better gaming club” for those that “give a *edited* about gaming?” When I first heard of those in the commuter lounge they would originally call themselves the Gaming Club, despite there being an actual club. If you’re reverting back to this, good luck to you, but you’ll never be an actual sanctioned club from the school without a purpose and results of completing this purpose.

Wrong. We lost people who’s loyalty was to you and Josh. We want people to be loyal to the GAMING CLUB, not to any set of executives.
At the meeting we specifically said we wanted you still be an exec because you would make the perfect console VP. You used the defense that you didn’t have the time to do something, well you do for playing games and hanging out in the commuter lounge which is mostly what we wanted in a VP. Every single person that voted to impeach you would have voted for you as a VP. Idk if that changes anything with anyone else but it obviously didn’t with you, you were told that before the exec meeting was over.
Woa woa woa, wait a minute. Not enough time but yet you were the PRESIDENT? The President is the most time consuming job of the club, and you already were doing the job of the Console VP already. So you saying no doesn’t make sense except the fact that you were just bitter about being impeached. Going off and saying “I’m making a new club” and running off just sounds like you’re a 5th grader who doesn’t want to take time to cool off.
On the subject of those being removed from having power: Please understand that in the past the club has been ruined by those who are extremely bitter from a previous decision, and with their power abused so and deleted a lot of pertinent information and made the club look like we harbor 12 year old children. I’m sure in time your power will be reinstated and it is nothing that isn’t going to be fixed. If you are looking for access into the other forums, since your powers were removed and thus access, I’m sure we can get Liam or someone else to create a submask group to give access to those without giving power to ruin the club. Please keep a cool head and calm your attitudes, etc as things will be looked over and fixed.

ParticipantI have it as well (BITEY GIVE ME YOUR PSN, I haven’t looked in the name threat yet so..) and yeah its pretty awesome, though definitely some gripes about a lot of the game. The tutorial “mode” seems to go on a bit too long and yes, it is quite linear at first. Once you are dropped off in
gran pulse
you get to run around all over the place and do missions, etc. To get there though takes about 20 hours or so, which is relatively annoying. The characters seem to be pretty weak/whiny but the story is pretty good with plenty of twists and turns, as per the FF name. The battle system is quite amazing, I love the ATB and I love paradigm shifts. I dislike not being able to control other characters and decide their abilities, but it actually works a lot better than I thought it would when I first started playing. Unfortunately the AI of characters are still pretty stupid. I run Syn/Comm/Sent to begin with and while my Sent will provoke, etc on a high level/powerful mob I’ll still get cleaved by a mob randomly after my Commando will attack 2-3 times from behind. Wish I could move around at least a little bit, give me a movement bar to regulates how much I can move in combat so I can position myself out of being hit by AoE abilities. The difficulty scale jumps at times, you’ll breeze through most of it and then encounter mobs or bosses such as Cid or the Primarch and be stumped for a bit. I blew the Primarch up but Cid took me ~10-15 tries because he would combo Lightning into the air and absolutely trash her.
I agree with the “if you liked FFX, you’ll probably like FFXIII” statement though, there is A LOT of similarities with the two games but at the same time very different. I like the characters and system in FFX a lot better so far
. The eidolons were a lot better as well even if Yuna was the only one who could summon them and they didnt turn into some funky vehicles >>.Fascist Flakes (Jagr)

ParticipantWell Dice, despite not seeing a lot of people playing it on your Steam friends list, I can pretty much guarantee that it is amazing. Once you’ve beaten the sampling of each campaign 5-10x or so and on Expert, etc then it gets a bit repetitive and really just want the game to come out though D:
Apparently though L4D2 Pre-Orders are 4x more than the original L4D

This is the last I will say on this topic, as this is merely ridiculous. I was team point. I cleared out, pulled special infected, and risked my own character to improve the performance of the team as a whole. I’ll admit, if I was not point, my scores would have been terrible as that is not my play style. Once again, please learn sarcasm or stop assuming. /DONEYeah.. and if you had gone against a team that comprised more than one person having actually played the game in the past.. 6+ months, then you would’ve died pretty early on. Someone as point scouts ahead, but doesn’t abandon the team as far out as you did. Sarcasm != bragging.
As for the guy that won Brawl and BlazBlue, he went to App? For shame, for shame indeed. Pretty good that he came down from App though, did we advertise our LAN at App or on their forums, or had someone told him about it?
Fascist Flakes (Jagr)
ParticipantPros:
-The Relay for Life stuff was amazing, were they an official sponsor for the LAN? If not, it should be looked into for sure.
-Console tournaments appeared to be ran decently well.
-Plenty of drinks and pizza, though the other food/munchies seemed a bit scarce.
-Free play looked decently fun, though it always seems to be.
Cons:
Honestly, I’m not even going to bother doing a list for this as it would extend too far for people to even bother wanting to read. PC tournaments were put together “decently” well but no one knew what the winning qualifications would be, or how to win the tournament aside from WC3. WC3 seemed to be decently popular but time-consuming, I’ve often stated that if we were going to include a strategy game into a tournament that it should be ran stream-lined with the other PC tournaments, otherwise it’ll make the other tournaments start later and eventually not allow other tournaments to be ran. The L4D tournament was a bit shoddy because finding people were hard to begin with, and then setting up a different server was even worse. The TF2 tournament was going well and pretty fun until we didn’t know what the winning qualifications were for the final map. Along with that, there were hardly any people there for the PC tournaments and the Worms tournament didn’t even get ran, which is terrible. No CS or CSS tournament? Way to lose about 20+ people that come from out of state and from all over the state anyways. Closing and ending the LAN an hour ahead of schedule so you could leave earlier? Pretty terrible as well.
Back for more:
Advertising seemed pretty poor as well, though I always harp on advertising. There were 0 fliers at Central and I think I saw two fliers on campus in general: one at the LAN and one at Harrill, and I had to look for the one at Harrill. I know advertising has always been a sore spot for the club but someone really needs to step up and put out more information somewhere. We need to cover the campus with fliers and we need to have the banner up, whatever happened to the banner? Did we decide not to put it up? Did someone not contact the UC and ask them if we could put it up? What about advertising in the UC or the new building? No TV advertising on the TVs at either location either? What about outside advertising into The Nexus or at the high school or the community college? Putting a booth up in the UC looked decently good, but sitting there and playing games was doing pretty much nothing but moving the commuter lounge out into the main hall, people sat around and played BlazBlue but didn’t actually advertise the LAN unless someone came over and asked about it, in which they would’ve approached people in the commuter lounge to begin with.
Fascist Flakes (Jagr)
ParticipantSo pretty much all you commuter lounge kids got treated to the same *edited* you put other people through, sweet. I think the guy that won BlazBlue and Brawl should be promoted to Console Pres.

Second, FacistFlakes, please don’t be a sore loser because you lost. Learn what SARCASM is before you jump. Considering I, ManlyMoose, had top kills on the first map (218 with the second highest being 109), and tied for top on the second map. I would say that was MVP, not to mention top infected damage.Yeah… you see, L4D is a team game, and from what I could tell you ran ahead and deserted your team for the most part. Score means pretty much jack diddly in L4D unfortunately, and if you couldn’t tell, you were the one being saved 95% of the time. MVP != you, MVP == Your team for carrying you.

ParticipantManlyMoose said:
Heh… I should have gotten a special prize for having more kills in L4D then the rest of my team combined… and more damage.
I agree, the idiot who won BlazBlue was a jerk. He was good, I’ll give him that, but when you complain constantly about WINNING… and about what console something is being played on when you are not apart of the club? Poor sportsmanship. I’m happy with my 3rd place Soul Calibur 4 standing… while playing Rock… (albeit on was against a new guy). I need to practice up with my Amy again so I can stomp Crash next Lan… who’s up for some practice?
As for the L4D problems, it was not a real problem, did not affect the overall of the game really. *edited* happens, we move on.
So you claim the guy that won BlazBlue was a jerk, but then complain and assume you were the MVP of the L4D team so you could get more prizes? You weren’t the MVP, nor did you have the most kills or damage. Only poor sportsmanship I see here is doneso by yourself, class act sir, class act.

Hope that helps you decipher the issue, Mitch.

The entire group didn’t get dropped in L4D. A couple of people were dropped after the locally-run server froze. The server froze but when she tabbed back in, it worked once more. People were disconnected briefly at the start of CC act 2 and then it worked perfectly.

Fascist Flakes (Jagr)
ParticipantActually Mitch that’s technically not true. If you read this article it clearly states that the cost to make the game, send it to the production company(s), and then send it to the distributor makes it so that game companies are only getting about $25-35 back and that barely covers their overhead.
