ParticipantJust so you know, I removed all access from everyone who “left” with Kaz-Ka and Josh. As someone who got *edited*ed off, had a lot of access, and took my toys with me when I left, I have personally witnessed (and caused) a lot of ..issues because I got mad, let my temper run in control, and didn’t think things through.
To head off a potential issue like what has happened with me and others in the past, I did what was necessary to ensure the security of the forums and servers. If you don’t like it, I personally don’t give a rats *edited*. You can send me a PM and we can discuss exactly what you access to, why you need it, what you will be doing with it, and how you will NOT abuse it, and then I’ll consider re-implementing them.
If you don’t like that, then you can tell Shingi and he can overrule that.
I don’t mean to be rude, but I am a very honest and very blunt person. I will say what I’m thinking, my motives behind my actions, and I don’t personally give a *edited* what anyone thinks about them.
Anywho, Kaz, you would have made one hell of a Console VP, but you sucked as president and did everything you could do to do as little as possible and ignored the responsibilities of your position.
/ranting
Anywho, shoot me a PM and we’ll talk about access. If you don’t want to, thats your call.
Cheers!
-Liam

ParticipantUnless I am mistaken, SGA rarely agrees to recognize or fund two clubs with similar goals.
March 20, 2010 at 11:08 pm #98768melatonin
ParticipantI didn’t leave this club. I’m just helping start a new club.

ParticipantIsn’t having two “gaming” clubs counter-productive?

Has your new “club” recruited members from this club? If the answer is yes, and it is, then you not only have a conflict of interest but you’ve demonstrated that you’re sacrificing our success to springboard your own success. Leeching off us to build your own club is about as big a slap in the face you can give short of actually getting us shut down.
If your goal is to tread the line between the two that’s great, prove you can do so without bias.
Hell Liam even said if you PM him a compelling reason he’d even restore your access until the execs have decided what to do. That’s about as nice as he’s ever been to someone in your position.

Participantlol a new "better" club huh?
You realize how small and backward your thinking is right?
If you don't know let me help you out:
1. This club has YEARS under their belt.
2. It has attracted THOUSANDS of people from all over the country (including myself)
3. WCU has benefited one way or another from the work these people have done; hell i had no idea where the hell or what the hell WCU was until i found their servers and forums
4. This forum alone > whatever cute ideas you have for your future 5 or 6 man club.
5. I'm pretty sure you need a clear purpose to even get a club up and running, gaming is your purpose you say? Looks like there already is a gaming club; DENIED.you are going to start a new gaming club which probably will only consist of circle jerkers from the same retarded nut sack in whoknowswhere, NC; because someone got impeached for not doing there job? ROFL
I'm sure you're enthused and full of optimism, but rest assured, that will subside in a few days; followed by a nice big slap of "oh shit I fucked up, i'm an idiot" and/or "damn i wonder if they will let me back in"
March 21, 2010 at 6:35 am #98775Bitey
ParticipantFFS this is just one big circle jerk…. Unless I am missing something it sounds like everyone got what they deserved, now get off your *edited* high horse and let’s move on.
If you want to be a part of this club, then do it, if you want to go off and create a new club with the same objective, good luck to you sir, but don’t waste our time by trying to be a member of both. Let alone hold a position of power in both, you can take that shenanigans and walk the other way.
P.S. – I did not rage on this club when I left, I had full intentions of running again.
P.P.S. – <3 Liam

ParticipantAs of now, the only person who has PM’d me was Liquid (Lt. Dan) and he did not have a compelling reason, so he got told no. Where are the rest of the people whining about lost access?
March 21, 2010 at 12:28 pm #98784melatonin
ParticipantI was not given a compelling reason why I shouldn’t have my privileges back.
Innocent until proven guilty, not the other way around.

Yes you were.
His reason for not giving your powers back was just as compelling as your reason for wanting them back.

He provided the vaguest statement I’ve heard in weeks and refused to elaborate.

And your arguement wasn’t vague?

I would like them back, as no reason for their removal has been given. With everything you’ve been involved with and your current actions, I am not giving you any type of moderator permissions at this time. I will see about creating a new group tomorrow to allow you to see the exec discussion. As for now, no.
At this point you’re just trolling for a rise out of the admins which you aren’t going to get.
March 21, 2010 at 1:22 pm #98789melatonin
ParticipantMy argument is as follows:
1) I am an elected officer.
2) I was not given any specific reason for the privilege changes.
3) I was not notified of the change, nor was anything brought up about it at any meeting.
You call that vague?
March 21, 2010 at 1:34 pm #98791Fascist Flakes (Jagr)
ParticipantI’m guessing you missed this post that explains why? Liam’s given you a chance to explain your reasons why you want your privileges back and its your choice and responsibility to explain why you should get them back, as well as show you’re a mature and level-headed adult to deserve them back.

He’s worried about the security issues involved with a rogue moderator? Seriously?
What could I do as a moderator that the admins couldn’t easily revert?
EDIT: And I did explain my reasons, I’m guessing you missed that post.
March 21, 2010 at 1:59 pm #98793Fascist Flakes (Jagr)
ParticipantHe’s worried about security issues that he himself did in the past, seriously. Look at the reasons and rationale as to why things were done not just for you but also for others.
It isn’t the fact that the admins could spend a few hours going back and reverting and un-deleting posts, topics, etc that you personally removed; it’s the fact that they want to prevent it from happening again. If this was your logic and reason as to why you should get your precious powers back then I don’t blame Liam for not reinstating you.
Apparently you missed the point when I said “show you’re a mature and level-headed adult to deserve them back.“. I didn’t miss the post saying you explained why, I missed you saying “I explained in full detail to Liam as to why I should get my powers back and did so responsibly..” etc. Obviously if you PM’d him saying “Give me my powers back. Innocent until proven guilty.” then I don’t blame him for telling you to take a seat.
March 21, 2010 at 2:08 pm #98794melatonin
ParticipantI did explain in full detail. I had them before, and everything went swell. If you looking for potential power abuse, power abuse has already gone on, and the people who abused that power still have it and you don’t seem to be complaining.
Also, Liam, are you even an alumni or current student of Western?

EDIT: And I did explain my reasons, I’m guessing you missed that post.
Moderators can destroy this forum if they wanted. Admins can’t revert most changes, like moving threads all over the *edited* place. They don’t have any more control over the actual board part than mods do.
Besides you weren’t told a reason, which you were, why should we give your powers back?
1) Begin an elected officer does not, according the constitution, grant you powers in the forums. You and Moose have stated several times that being removed from the forums does not grant us the right to remove you from the club. We’re just applying your own logic to this situation.
2) You had your powers removed because we don’t trust you ATM. You’re helping create another campus club that directly competes with this one, have recruited from this club, and trash talked this club and it’s execs pretty *edited* hard IRL. You’ve also conspired to steal our resources.
3) True you weren’t notified. Consider this your notification of power removal.
March 21, 2010 at 2:10 pm #98796Lemm
ParticipantFrom what I understand you’re trying to start up another club to compete with ours? What reason is there for you to have access here?

Read the constitution before making any argument about the webmaster position.

“Full detail” entails what? 1-2 sentences of you pointing fingers and saying “I want powers back. Innocent until proven guilty?”
So now you’re going on accusing others of abusing powers and getting to keep these powers? Ah so the viscous circle goes on as to where you continuously run and point fingers at others to try and make yourself look right. Examples? Where? Who? Anyone that’s abused power in any sort of form have already had their powers revoked in the past no matter who they are.
March 21, 2010 at 10:27 pm #98812melatonin
ParticipantWell, if you honestly believe I plan on *edited*ing up this forum, at least give back the privileges to view the private forums.
Really, I’m trying to work as a middle man in this situation, and I feel open, direct, real life negotiations are the way to go.
March 21, 2010 at 10:33 pm #98813Liam
ParticipantI’m still waiting on a PM stating _WHY_ you need them back. From everything I and several others have seen, you and your group of friends are doing everything you can to harm this club. Why should we make it easier?
March 21, 2010 at 10:44 pm #98814melatonin
ParticipantThe private boards are for the elected officers. I am an elected officer.
Believe it or not, I want this club to stay alive. However, I realize that a LOT of change must be done to accomplish this and a lot of people have been resisting this change. If change continues to be resisted, this club will die.
I purpose a face to face open discussion on the matter.

Yes you are. You know why we did what we did and you can’t possibly think helping to form a competing club with the intention of stealing members from this club is beneficial to us.
I know what you want the execs to say, and we aren’t going to say it so stop wasting everyone’s time.
March 21, 2010 at 11:30 pm #98820melatonin
ParticipantYou completely misunderstand.
Like I said above:
“Believe it or not, I want this club to stay alive. However, I realize that a LOT of change must be done to accomplish this and a lot of people have been resisting this change. If change continues to be resisted, this club will die.”
I want to change this club, so it won’t die, hence me calling for open, face to face negotiations. I am helping with the other club because I don’t think this club will change, which will lead to it’s death. I do hope we can work something out though.
