Participantany custom skin can be used that doesn’t try to overwrite files in the “scripts” folder. Head on over to fpsbanana.com and look around.

ParticipantYeah its not set up right or something cause I see it in regular 1.6 but not 1.6 beta and it wont load in either
Nickname
ParticipantI didn’t see it in there…

ParticipantWe have the resources and people are going to want servers to test it out on. YES we should make one.

Participantplus he would get hungry and eat the states along the way.

ParticipantIt’s the same problem I was having; we are looking into it now. the quick solution is to move that file out of your cstrike\scripts folder and it will work (though your gun sounds wont work)

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not trying to be an *edited* about this, but I am going to do what I was asked to do in the way I was asked to do it, but then again, maybe I’ll just leave.Um… why are you taking this so personal? I never said anything about you being an *edited* or whatever. All I did was give my suggestion to fix this.

ParticipantI think there should be a short meeting following the main meeting on Tuesday to sort this out how its going to be done; like just a convo between the president, VP, webmaster, and CSS CL, and decide how everybody wants to deal with the custom skin thing.
IN THE MEANTIME I think we should allow all the skins but that is just IMHO.
EDIT: nvm let’s just bring the issue up for club vote.

ParticipantMaybe the above post was directed at MasterP?

ParticipantMake the change in the whitelist so that:
// // By default, when in pure server mode, most content file types are only allowed to come from Steam. // materials\... from_steam models\... from_steam sound\... from_steam // // Allow custom player models. Don't do CRC checks on them because the clients may all // have different custom models and the server won't have them all. // materials\models\player\... allow_from_disk materials\models\weapons\... allow_from_disk models\weapons\... allow_from_disk models\players\... allow_from_disk
Congrats, custom player and weapon skins now work again.

ParticipantIf people have an older card, say a geforce 4 mx 440, they can only use directx 7. Same if they have intel extreme graphics. Can this setting be ignored cause I don’t think its fair to punish those with older hardware…

Participantnope, 380 was it; 385 would post but not stable to boot into windows. Keep in mind my motherboard is only officially rated up to 1066 fsb anyways.
Still, not bad for a 2 year old cpu. I still fail, but only a little (like .1 points)
EDIT: I didn’t realize I actually achieved a higher frequency than you
though I guess yours is a 1333fsb cpu and mine is “only” a 1066fsbNickname

Just because I like to argue with Nickname (from Anandtech, who I now believe to be reliable since my CPU subscription):“For now if you are looking for the very best overclocking memory you can buy for your new rig, then Corsair Dominator PC2-8888 should definitely be on your list. So should OCZ PC2-9200 Flex XLC. Both memories provide remarkable performance and push DDR2 performance to new levels. The absolute fastest memory tested is definitely Corsair Dominator DDR2-1111, which reached DDR2-1315 at 5-5-5-15 timings and the even more remarkable DDR2-1233 at 4-4-4-12 timings. If your platform will be 680i or 650i then Dominator is your best choice. OCZ Flex XLC is a bit slower at DDR2-1300 on the same platform, but it is also an excellent choice.”
He was looking at the PC2-6400 model though…

ParticipantI’m sure the 22″ would be large enough; I would definitely throw out the Acer as its screens are inferior to Samsung’s in almost every way. As far as the 2 Samsung’s, it’s a tossup but you can almost get 2 22″ers for the price of the 24″er so I think the choice is obvious.

ParticipantThat’s the point I was getting at; Corsair XMS is great RAM, I was only disputing the claim of fastest ram on the market. It’s certainly no slower than any other RAM, just not the “fastest”. I don’t think there is any RAM that can claim “fastest” really, unless a 1% difference is that big a deal to anybody.

ParticipantMine is still coming up as a 5.9 underclocked to 667mhz speeds, 4-4-4-15 2T. I think it has to do with the nforce chipset as MasterP has the 680i; mine is Intel P965.

ParticipantAlso, MasterP, If you are getting the Corsair fan, shouldn’t you get the Corsair RAM to go with it?

Based on benchmark scores, Corsair XMS is the best RAM on the market. Even though the performance increases are marginal at best, I trust Corsair more than any other memory company out there. Call me a fan boy if you want, I don’t care, Corsair is the best memory /thread.fanboy.
lol well only sorta; I was going to leave it at that but you forced me to do some surfing and this is what I found: http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/xms26400/ The mushkin, corsair, and ocz all scored about the same and the CMS at stock speeds, based on the benchmarks, could not be considered the “best RAM on the market”. From the article: “They performed very well and kept up with the best of them, hitting right in the middle of the pack.” (
Seriously though
