ParticipantIf you would like a custom skin added to the whitelist for the CSS server, please attach it to this thread so we can review it.

ParticipantI have about 15ish skins in a folder.
I don’t really remember the link that I got them from.
So would it be possible to send someone that folder to get it “white listed”
Also I’ve played on a few servers that just make it some all custom skins are the defualt ones.
Is that possible to do so that if we have skins we can still play while waiting for them to be white listed?

ParticipantYou can zip the folder up and attach it if you want. We are still discussing the skins issue.

ParticipantHmm I’m having troubles uploading them.
Any chance I could email them to you?
The folder is about 60 mbs big, so its a bit difficult on here.
Also is there anyway to revert my css to normal for the time being so I can still play?
Thank

Are you using custom sounds? Give me the full path to the game sound manifests file.

ParticipantIt’s the same problem I was having; we are looking into it now. the quick solution is to move that file out of your cstrike\scripts folder and it will work (though your gun sounds wont work)

Participantwhen there are custom skins that can be used any way of putting them up for DL so i can grab em?

Participantany custom skin can be used that doesn’t try to overwrite files in the “scripts” folder. Head on over to fpsbanana.com and look around.

Participantsorry Im a bit new to the skins thing… are those client side or server side? are we allowed to have them if we are regulars on the server? did the issue ever get decided?
If I download a skin and put it in my cs folder (whatever specific folder its supposed to be in) does that mean I will get to use that skin anywhere I play?

ParticipantYeppers, you should be all set using custom skins here.

Participantif it’s one server that has custom models for adman.. can i post them on here and get them whitelisted?
I get tired of deleting them everytime I go from one server to another
(note: this is prolly a dumb question but just making sure this is what liam talked about)

For admins to have a custom skin you have to specifically set it to be a permanent change. For instance, TAG has a custom skin that is enabled only on our servers where the admins have “ADMIN” on their helmet and back. This skin is disabled when you disconenct and doesn’t carry over to another server unless they specify for the client to use those files for the skin.
As far as whitelisting, we don’t require the approval for custom skins anymore so you should be able to join with any you want.

ParticipantIs there a way to use a skin that other people in the game will see?

ParticipantAdmins should get special pink suits, imo. With uhh.. With bunny ears, and wings!
But seriously, like MasterP said, I like the skins with “Admin” on them.

ParticipantI agree with the bunny suits…

ParticipantI played on a Zombie Mod server for a bit and there the admins had ADMIN written on their backs. Also they had custom skins for players that donated. I loved watching Kermit the frog and Darth Vader teaming up to kill zombies. Brought a tear to my eye. I’d donate again to be Kermit the frog.

Participanti believe it does require every player to download every custom skin. and i too agree, it is a pain in the tushy. However, i do not believe it takes that long to download a few custom skins. But a few for the real cool people would be rather enjoyable. Or set it up so the major clans on the server can get access to those skins. I don’t know, just throwing out ideas. Might want to see how long it takes for an average player to download a few skins. I don’t remember how long it took to download them, and they had a a fairly good number on the server. It just adds another dimension to the game.
I think it would be cool to see ADMIN printed on the back of every admin, they can turn if they want to remain sneaky ninjas. (idk if thats possible in the code).

ParticipantI would have to agree with Zod. But only on the Admin skins. Because then at least people would see the presence of the admins and not just feel there force.
March 3, 2009 at 5:53 pm #73009Citan001
ParticipantIf you do the admin thing….all hell will break lose. As it stands now you can atleast tell people to follow the rules like I do and they usually do because they think your an admin. With the skins no one will follow rules untill they see an admin skin.
March 3, 2009 at 6:31 pm #73015MasterP
ParticipantTAG has both the custom player skins and the admin skins in place seperately on our servers. If you want them let me know and I can get them added.
The admin skin is cool but like someone else said, it announces when admits AREN’T on and that can create problems. TAG allows the admin to pick whether or not to have the admin skin. That might be a decent alternative if we were to go this route.
