My vista runs about 100x better now that I got my bios to recognize all my ramz…That’ll usually make a difference. This summer I plan to reinstall with 64-bit and swap the 2gb ddr2-800 out for 4-6gb ddr2-1066.
Btw, Intel is releasing a new socket early next year. Kuros’ epic upgrade decisions may not last long.

ParticipantIt’s not really Vista’s fault, most 64-bit OSs (including linux) have swollen memory pointers and allocation problems. It’s just a by-product of having the extra bus size and addressing capabilities. Larger files in memory also clogs up the processor’s cache but since that’s increasing as well it’s not really that big a deal.
Do most users care? Not really. They just counter this by buying 6GB instead of 4GB. The way memory is going it’s not really that expensive to buy 2GB sticks anymore.
MasterP
ParticipantThe Vista keys work with both 32-bit and 64-bit.
Nickname there’s quite a bit more to 64-bit processors than expanded memory addressing.

I think he is bringing it to the crib tomorrow, if I can’t get it for some reason i will give you a call.Feel free. I know installing XP AFTER Vista can be hard but my understanding is the hardest part is getting it in the Vista boot loader which isn’t really that hard. If it can’t read the install CD then he’s got other problems.
Also, just for safety, take the Vista hard drive out when installing XP. If they are on the same drive, make the Vista partition hidden or locked using MiniPE or Hirens. The last thing you want is to have the XP boot loader overwrite Vista’s, I think that’s an automatic epic fail.

\system32\hal.dll is either missing or corrupt. try copying it from the installation cd. 99% of the time that’s an automatic reformat. As soon as you copied the default from the install disc you’re guaranteed to have to have reinstall. There are specific steps to recover it but if it’s missing or you replaced it with the original you’re screwed.
I’m running an XP/Vista dualboot and haven’t had a single issue with it using the default Vista boot loader. I changed a few settings with bcdedit but they weren’t required for it to work. Google has surprisingly good documentation on bcdedit.
Dice, if Nickname doesn’t fix it give me a shout.

I think Fox was the most unbalanced character in Melee. No matter who you played against, you always had the advantage. I haven’t done much with Fox in Brawl, but I hope they fixed him.In Melee a good Marth could beat him every time. The key is to take full advantage to the reach of the sword to make up for the movement and attack speed differences.
In Brawl he is slower but his attacks do slightly more damage. His Landmaster is surprisingly effective if used correctly.

ParticipantWhy not have them at the same time? Maybe at the meeting find out how many people would honestly play in both? If nothing else it’d be a great photo-op to have lots of TV’s and PCs all in CoD4 at the same time.

ParticipantWas playing against a Lucario last night and it reminded me alot of Mewtwo, only he can actually survive against good players. Mewtwo had a few good moves but they really didn’t make up for the other shortcomings.

So since wavedashing is gone, what’re you going to find to *edited* about and blame for your losses against them now?I have no problems losing fair and square. That has yet to happen to me in a WCU SSB tournament but I DO look forward to it.

This just in: R.O.B. is terrible.Did you expect him to pwn? Granted, most of the wussy looking characters in the past have had at least one redeeming move but IMO Jiggypuff looks stronger than ROB.

I just wish I’d quit trying to wavedash.Sucks having to use normal moves doesn’t it?
The unlock system seems too much like MK with a billion or so unlocks and no real way to determine what is what.

ParticipantWas able to transition straight into Brawl with no trouble at all. It’s much better than Melee.

vac status is still in good standing on the settings thing so i think that means the jackass that took it didn’t get vac banned with my idSince I’m the constant negative force on these forums I’m obligated to remind you that VAC bans take several weeks to go through.
Congrats on getting the account back though, I thought it took longer than that.

Stack it up with caffeine and suger and your good to go.I imagine this will be the case. This could be an interesting turn for gaming as they’d be the only one’s making a non-liquid caffeine solution. If it works out it’ll copied like anything.

I wanna come. You should call local law enforcement in his area as well.
You can also try the FBI as various interstate internet crimes are now under their perview, not sure if they’ll take on something like this but if they do it’s a guaranteed buttrape. His ISP should also be obligated to deactivate his account if you give them enough evidence and how much money is involved with stolen accounts.

And someone posted saying it was hard unless you use a script. Pretty false, a lot of people can do it with just hitting spacebar or something. I’d do that but I shoot with spacebar sometimes
. I usually just hit spacebar or q and do it. harrr.Which is why I specified the type of bunny hopping I was talking about as “air strafing”. If you’ve ever seen people do it like I have you’d hold the same view on it that I do. There’s nothing wrong with repeated jumping but when you get to the other team’s spawn in less than 5 seconds it tends to create issues.

To pull off a decent FFA round, you need about 6-8 people … that’s AT LEAST 3 consoles, and 3 TVs.\ said:
For a 3v3/4v4, it would take 1-2 TVs, and 1-2 consoles.\ said:
So that’s a grand total of 4-6 consoles and 4-6 TVs which we don’t even have right nowNot sure how that math works out, how does it take less to do one type of tournament unless split screening isn’t bad for teamplay (less bad for sure but still bad) and if we don’t have the consoles to begin with how do you plan to have any tournaments?
I’m willing to bet if you asked EVERYONE that played XBOX360 at the last few LANs you’d find at least 10-15 people that would be willing to bring one and a TV if given a guarantee that their gear would be well taken care of. Hell I’d bring my Wii and TV for you to use if there wasn’t so much horseplay in the console area.
Since I’m not part of the “console community” (dispite the fact I played console tournaments that didn’t interfere with prime PCs earlier in the school year) I’ll leave you and your “community” to figure that math out for yourself.

thats just b/c the ppl there are 2 types of ppl that play on jiggly’s: awful noobs and ridiculous ppl that play 24/7. Teams with mixes of both get stuck in standstills all the time. For 30 minutes? The guy had 200 kills with soldier…

tf2 very balanced rite now imo. you can kill anything if you dont suck hard.Agreed.
Also, pipe bomb jumping isn’t that hard but it takes away so much HP it’s not really worth it. Demoman wasn’t really unbalanced, the problem is that when someone who’s good with the class gets the right position and backup he can really tear a defense apart.
The way the new balance system is, if you fight to a standstill neither team will be able to break through and win. I was playing on a Jiggly server on Canyon and had to play the map for 30 minutes after the time ran out because that’s how long it took for my team to push through and cap the last point.
