Steamroll was a terrible idea, never do that as a final map, ever…
I got 0 satisfaction out of the fact that we won because it didn’t feel like a win against the other team. It was a cluster… 2fort would have been a much better final map than steamroll..
Stalemates aren’t complicated, in the case of a stalemate a map like Steamroll would be fine imo.
OR do what I would have done and place 5 on 5 scouts on granary and first team to win, wins

Play at least 1 of the classic ctf maps. Just because you personally don’t enjoy a map doesn’t mean others hate it.
If we need to shorten the length of the tournament then do 15 – 20 minute rounds instead of 30 minute rounds.
Warmup map = 15 minutes no matter what and should be set to one of the maps we are playing in the tournament. Preferably the map that will be played as the first tournament map. This gives teams a chance to play together before it being real.
Announce what is going on. Don’t depend on someone else to tell you what to do ‘during the LAN.’ Everything should be sorted out before the LAN event. Have the random generator ready. Have the maps configured properly and ready to play. Listen to the community.
The medic gun that gives life is a fantastic weapon and isn’t imbalanced. The backburner was nerfed and seems balanced but that’s debatable. The decision on what weapons are allowed needs to be made soon so that people can work on getting their unlocks. If a person doesn’t have the unlock then it will be their own fault. I believe it is fair to announce something 2 months in advance so that people can prepare.
Overall I had fun. I would like to suggest that TF2 players have the option to pick a person they would like to play with. Naturally that will cause some problems with ‘numbers’ but its worth exploring. Everyone likes to play with at least one of their friends. For 2 LANs I didn’t get to play with my friends at all so I am making this suggestion because I know how much it sucks playing with a bunch of random people. Like I said there is a numbering issue as far as teams go with this approach.
Also, I say one LAN we try 2 teams of 10. Top 5 from each team advance, the team that wins, wins. This would give the first round more of a epic feel. Just an idea.
I love TF2 and I loved TFC.
The fact that TF2 is different is refreshing! I wouldn’t mind spy feign death, dropping ammo for engies, or poison for medics but I’m satisfied with the game as it is.
TFC really was a grenade spam. I owned so many people with the emp grenades it wasn’t funny. I liked the chaos of TFC and I like the structure of TF2.
Water? Why buy what is provided by the university for FREE?
I always bring 3 bottles from home in case I want them to drink just because I have them at home. We need to think of the fact that people can always use the water fountains and if they want water at their computer then they can bring something to put water in. If they really want bottled water its like 3.75 for 24 bottles at Walmart.
If there were soda fountains for free then I would say the same thing about that.

The worst part about the game, for me, is the animations. Some of them feel incomplete and don’t sync up well with your abilities. Mounts look awful when running around. For some reason (maybe for frame sake?) the further away I am the worse animations look. As in, they don’t look complete and fluid. Given the lack of graphical intensity I don’t see why it would be necessary to cut back on character animations from a distance.
At any rate, the animations are really causing me annoyance but I’m hoping I get over it. The big thing I keep thinking is “These animations have the same flaws that DAoC’s animations had…”
The pvp is fun though.
Is it really that bad? lol. Maybe I’ll not go.

I’ll go if I can get masterp, chupa, nickname, nodice, raine, and nukedude. Or any of the other good tf2 players that I didn’t mention.
Timing was a bit off for certain tournaments due to installs and what not.
Marketing guy didn’t do anything so our prizes were a little light.
Other then that it went very smoothly.

Unlike all my friends, I have discovered that playing while drunk does not increase my skill. However, it does make everything funny as *edited*.
I totally had 18hp and had to climb down a ladder to plant the bomb. Definitely told my team to pick up the bomb because I’m probably gonna die.
Somehow I managed to launch myself through the air, off the ladder, and /death…

Its a pub… meh. I don’t care if they are banned or not. I typically never shoot them and if I do I generally laugh at myself for shooting a wall.
I’m playing it, sorta… Not really much time for games right now but I bought it regardless. Figure it’ll give me something to do from time to time.
Who wants to play TF2 and take shots at the same time!
