ParticipantI was just thinking about some of the games I have played through and one of my favorites happens to also be one of the most frustratingly hard games I’ve ever played and that is Max Payne (and to a lesser extent, its sequel). I say this because it was fun and cool and everything but you pretty much had to quick save after every enemy because literally anything could kill you in that game which made it very frustrating (especially the very end on the rooftop woth 4 guys coming at you with machine guns; no amount of bullet time can keep you from getting killed there!)
What do you all think?
Close runner-ups:
-FarCry (great game but TOO F*ING HARD with NO QUICKSAVE ONLY CHECKPOINTS! OMGWTFBBQ)
-StarWars Battlefront II (great game and awesome multiplayer but this one single player mission is impossible)
-Command & Conquer 3 (my fav RTS but some of those missions are ridiculous)

ParticipantIve spent over 3 weeks of my life playing CNC3 and i always end up getting so *edited*ed off at how slow mammoth tanks are and how they fail to kill things when i tell them too that i have to take a 3 month hiatus from the game

ParticipantHaving played most *good* PC games, my favorite is still Star Wars Rebellion. It took me almost 4 months to beat it my first time through at 3-6 hrs/day, and that was on easy with a medium sized galaxy. I can’t imagine how long it would take on hard with a large galaxy.

ParticipantThe original Splinter Cell was hella hard. And yes the last mission in BF II was almost impossible to beat but I managed. w00t to getting to play as Darth Vader.

I love that game in multiplayer but the singleplayer is very frustrating.

ParticipantI appologize for the triple post! (I am too lazy right now to just edit one of the othere heh)
I think my main problem is that I refuse to play any game on a setting below normal. I’m sure any of these games mentioned would be no problem on easy but then i feel like i’ve taken the coward’s way out.

Back on topic: Anybody here every try to play Company of Heroes online? that game is ridiculously hard IMO. I gave up on the game when it was a long drawn out struggle to just beat the AI on normal rofl.

ParticipantI have a weird, love-hate relationship with Super Castlevania IV. I didn’t play it on the original SNES; I got it on the virtual console about a year ago. Like all Castlevania games prior to Symphony of the Night, the jumping controls are *edited*-near broken. The game is ridiculously hard, partially because of the stupid design choices, like being able to fall through stairs if you don’t press the up button. The clock tower level almost made me cry.
I somehow managed to beat the game. Then I immediately started playing it again. It wasn’t nearly as bad the second time. I still play it occaisionally. Weird.

ParticipantI think the Legend of Zelda on the NES was so frustrating, especially when you are going thru the castles and you have to go thru a puzzle of rooms to get the the right place or it would send you right back to the beginning.

ParticipantThe original legend of zelda is the only zelda game I have ever played. And thanks to its “rape you in the *edited*” attitude, it will be the last.
