Several people have expressed an interest in banning decoy sprays from the CSS server.
Feel free to discuss the issue and vote accordingly.
clava you obviously misunderstand the issue, I don’t shoot inanimate sprays, but when I come around the corner and I see a spray that looks like a T and has a flashing muzzle my first reaction is to shoot it.
There are also variations of this where it looks like the T is moving or something like that. There are also CT ones.
i’v been playing cs:s forever, and i maybe came across 1 or 2. Making anothe rule to add to our allready huge *edited* list of motd is ridicules. we dont need to add anything and jusy ask the person to stop if its really that big of a deal. Give me a player name that does this. (I bet you cant)
I finally saw 2 of these the other day, not that my input is extraordinarily important but the ones that I saw (one of a CT crouched and aiming and one of a T planting the bomb, with movement) were crappy and pixelated… hard to imagine being fooled by them up close, BUT… from a distance I can see how it might trick someone
I voted ban just because of the distance factor… but up close it looked like just another crappy spray
Kuros speaks the truth, over a year ago they weren’t allowed. That is why I was confused to why they weren’t booted yesterday/last night. I say ban them, if they distract a lot of people…last night was funny, 4 people were spraying bullets at that spray from ‘Kitty’ to bombsite A in CPL_MILL.

(I bet you cant)The problem dice is when it is not in the rules people say they did it because it was not in the rules, “some” people DO read the rules, so it is necessary that if we make it a rule that we really make it a rule and put it in there.
i mean the obvious hint that they are not real should be the big gray and white name that pops up from the spray tracker
i’ve seen them before in the server, and in other servers and they really didn’t pose that many problems
mabe we can leave it to the admin’s discretion to kick if they are affecting game play that much, but banning seems harsh

and by “baning them” in the pool it was ment to say “not allow them”
i just dont think the issue is big enough to get our panties up in a wad
not to go too far off topic, but what if the wadded up panties are in someones mouth? Are we allowing those kind of panties?
And if major wasn’t so fat, he would have known that only admins can utilize the spray trackzor.
If it has never been allowed then put it in the motd, if people spray them then we can warn them and tell them to look at the motd if they question us…or we can just let major eat them…take your pick…

well i guess my point will still stand, let the admin use his/her own discretion when ppl complain about it. doenst need to be a new rule but it also doesn’t need to just let lie
to me, this falls into the category of “unruly players” like ppl who are in general *edited*ing around, not breaking any of the rules but significantly disrupting the game play. no rule needs to be made about them, but the admin can/or cannot kick then for it
personally the only sprays i can remember not allowing was animated sprays and those that are tasteless why ban a decoy spray i will put money on it those that are voting on ban can’t tell the different and have shot at them to die to a real player rofl. and how is it a exploit ? its a spray it isn’t a game bug that you can exploit the game doesn’t say hey you cant use this spray i say pay more attention to what you shoot and you wont die looking at a spray but i also have my game set to not show sprays so ……..
Haha, I didn’t know they were animated. I remember back in the day people running around spraying those ugly still sprays.

well the way it look its gonna get banned, but i think its part of the game, and its not an issue, NOT A BIG ISSUE, but if it gets banned are we gonna kick them because of there T or CT spray? even if they are the worst player in the world or ends up being a regular? I think a rule like that would just be darn silly<–loller But i mean if thats the case we got to slay,kick,ban innocent people who think the server is ran fine because of the freedom we allow and how unstrict we are.

I remember having fun with an animated 3’d looking bomb (by animated it blinks red). Then hiding the bomb nearby behind something, or kicking a barrel over the real one. XD
I don’t think it is an exploit unless you use those crazy ones. By crazy, i mean blank screen ones which u can spray over windows and make it a one sided view.
Stuff like a fake bomb, or hell even a fake door (yes i gotten people with fake doors), shouldn’t be that big of an issue.
