True that it is a different play when only one on a team can use the sniper, but simply because the sniper in DoD:S, etc can also 1-shot you. The AWP is a .50calibur gun, anything hit with a .50calibur bullet will be left in pretty terrible shape, especially torso and up. Leg shots do 87, 79, etc damage and don’t kill. Same with being hit in the arm on most shots.

Actually, my problem with distance occurs regularly on maps such as Inferno, D2, etc when I got shot for 100+ damage from a person using a shotgun when he’s on the opposite end of mid or on the opposite end of banana, etc.

Just because you’ve used a different sniper in each different game doesn’t mean you’re good with using a sniper rifle in all games. All of the games listed above are of much different play style and use different code. More than likely the reason why you hate the awp is that you’re used to a play-style that doesn’t have the sniper sitting around waiting in certain areas but has it move up with each opposing force (since most of the games you listed are more CTF and KoTH styles) and pick off anyone that tries to take on your frontal assault. You do not like just sitting around, you’re the type that HAS to run around and rush no matter what and thusly an AWP is a bad choice, meanwhile the shotgun is a perfect choice because you can jump and shoot with accuracy, turn a corner and instantly kill someone, and pick them off from a distance while still killing them in only one shot. I am not going to say “the awp is fun” because a person can get much enjoyment and fun with any gun. You don’t find the awp fun for your reasons and I don’t find the shotgun fun because I find the gun way too easy to kill people with and it causes a player to change the way they play to adjust to the “easier” style, in my opinion.
Also, I’ve played my share of FPS and have used a sniper in plenty of them and in plenty of the situations. Comparing the AWP to a Kar or Springfield is absurd as DoD, DoD:S, and other WWII shooters enable the user to be in prone and account for simulated breathing, hence forcing a player to crouch or be in prone to get a steady shot off.
Flyer designs were just made this weekend so they will be put up as soon as we send them to the print shop. Banner needs a new sticky sign and will be hung soon as well.
The decision was made before Brian was elected as CL by other admins and executives.

Why the *edited* yall keep bashing him, he is just a voice who differs from you and being that no one in the history of the world has ever been right a 100% of the time why are we being so *edited* hostile to someone who is making suggestions for what he sees as the benefit of the community. He isn’t Hitler telling the Weimar Republic that its democracy is corrupt, evil, and base. He is one of us who appreciates the community. EDIT: as to what renton said, no I don’t think he personally deserves any criticism, but his ideas and suggestions sure do.
We “bash” him because instead of being constructive with his suggestions and criticism he tries telling us how to run the servers and the club. He goes about his suggestions and criticism in a negative way towards the club and those that run it, especially when he openly throws insults at executives.
Its the same for you pink, you think you could run our servers and our club better than we can, but yet we have two servers that are in to top50 in the nation, why should anyone take what you say seriously? I mean, no one at WCU does, much less the executives.
The point for the statement is that it doesn’t matter to me whether the modifier gets put back to its original or whether it stays at the .5 it is at now. If the modifier on the shotgun is changed back to what it is, I believe the modifier of all of the weapons should go back to what they were, aside from autosniper possibly. Of course, you probably disagree with this seeing how you’re an avid awp hater. Good thing we don’t take what you say seriously.
I really don’t care what happens to the modifiers, Kuros changed them and if the shotgun gets changed back then every single gun needs to go back to their default.
In the last month and a half the server has gone from 1-2 people using the shotgun regularly to me seeing 5+ people using it, especially using it only for points.
If Renton isn’t only here and using the shotgun for points, then why is he saying he’s going to leave due to point modifier being lowered by Kuros?
Brian, saying you don’t see how a shotgun is beneficial on a pub is once more absurd. Any gun can be used on a pub and can kill someone with it and be efficient as well as beneficial. The shotgun is a gun that gets a lot of 1-shot kills without much aim or effort as well as being extremely accurate while moving as well as jumping.
Why not restore the modifier back on the awp, autosniper, etc then as well? I mean, on every single map you see at least half of the server using shotguns. Jumping headshots with them, running around corners and jump-1shotting, 1shotting someone from 50 yards a way, etc. I don’t discourage him from using it, I discourage converting an entire server to using it and only it because they’re more concerned about points than anything else. The fact that you state names of what I assume are Pro’s in comparison to people here is just absurd, especially since they don’t exactly play on a pub, much less a setting where using a shotgun would be beneficial instead of others.
My point is that I don’t want to discourage people from using whatever weapons they want to use and they continue using it, if they enjoy using a weapon then they shouldn’t care about how many points they do or do not get from it.
He’s 45 or so and the rogues are probably ~70 and he’s arms. Not a lot of good 1H weapons for >70 to sustain a good fury build. Plus arms ftw, mace spec at 70 is amazing.
Heh, so you’re not going to play because the points one could get with the shotgun have been halved? You’re not going to play because you aren’t going to be able to get as many points with the shotgun as you could in the past? People were only using the shotgun to get a huge number of points and easy kills, that’s not something we support and we show this with lowering the modifier on weapons that are “easier” to kill people with such as the awp, autosniper, deagle, etc. Its funny that you decide to say something about it after enjoying yourself and having a grand time for over 2k kills with the shotgun and getting the same halved points, but yet now you’re upset and leaving?
Who said he could? Brian? It is mic spamming and illegal, also extremely annoying. I mute anyone instantly that does it and if any admin gets *edited*ed out for muting a mic spammer due to music, etc then they can talk it over with myself. One person does not get special treatment over others and he is not allowed to do it. Period.

The incident Bitey mentioned above is not the only evidence in the demo. The demo also shows other incidents where it was apparent that some form of “cheat” was being used to aid Sushi in determining where people were coming from and/or to help him aim. The flash incident could just have been luck, sure everyone gets lucky every once in a while, but the demo showed a prominent and careful precision aim by Sushi while he was currently flashed.
How do YOU always get bored? You haven’t even hit 50 yet >_>. Kappa gets bored because he’s done everything already, essentially.
All it takes is some editing in the code that will only allow points to be given by planting, defusing, etc when there are 6 people in there, not including bots.
And yeah, it is possible for the individuals to get nuked
