The fries arent bad (though I liked it better when cheese fries was actually shredded cheese on top and not that orange paste crap) and some of the sandwiches are pretty good (Well, roast beast and the buffalo chicken. I hated the meatball sandwich I got.).

For the sake of being on topic, unless I forget or something else comes up I may try to be there.

I think it’d be nice not to say “Woo! PS3 tourney! Good thing it’s a game we’ve played the last couple of LANs.”

If we are going PS3, let’s at least try to bring in the LAN we’ve not had before. Soul Calibur 4 was actually probably the best suggestion. We’ve not really ever had a fighting game (Brawl/Melee doesnt count) and we’ve not had a PS3. Or we could go with something like Resistance. I was surprised at just how fun and easy to pick up that game it.

Besides, the console CoD4 blows.

I’ll at least be able to play Team Fortress 2.

Which means I’ll need to practice. And actually bother to update it…

And we’ll probably need to discuss whether we’ll be allowing all that new fangled stuff in or not.

The demo was awesome. Short, limited, but awesome.

I pretty much freaked out when I was slowly walking towards some stormtroopers and the Apprentice casually used his free hand to turn aside a blaster bolt.

Remember if you’re playing COD4 you’ll need everything for that. TV’s, 360’s, and copies of the game.

As far as local sponsors go, if you are interested in approaching the Nexus again I’d be willing to chat them up. I usually end up there at least once a week or once every two weeks.

So, it’s actually not that bad. At least it’s not as automatically repulsive as I found IE7.

Honestly, it feels like a Firefox skin so far. Though I can tell it’s a bit faster.

No promises on my being around my computer when you’re trying to pop, but add me to steam.

I forgot what you look up to add people to steam but my name should be cac0ph0ny or Cacophony.

So, we will be having a DoD:S tourney now?

You know I’ll run it if we do. I’ve still got the old setting lying around.

It’s downloadable now for those interested in giving it a spin. I’m going to download it and fiddle with it in the morn.

My deck (which is at home, but that can change) has no newer cards then Champions of Kamigawa and is mostly old soldier cards. And my knowledge of the rules is spread across several editions and somewhat faulty since the guy who taught me used them liberally when it suited him.

But, I’d be down for a few games at the next LAN.

FPS: Call of Duty 4, Half Life 2, Team Fortress 2

RTS: Dawn of War: Winter Assault, Warcraft III: Frozen Throne, Homeworld

RPG: I’d put FFVII since I did play it once on PC, but really all my RPG experience worth noting is console based

MMO: World of Warcraft, Dawn of War: Winter Assault, Call of Duty 4

Sandbox: Again, most of what I’d consider great sandbox is console based for me

Other: Day of Defeat: Source, Portal, Every Rom Game I’ve Ever Had

Obviously horribly biased and probably missing some incredible game that I’m forgetting for no good reason. That’s the only thing I hate about these lists

EDIT: See! I forgot Bioshock. I’m ashamed of myself now.

    So, new:

FPS: Bioshock, Half Life 2, Call of Duty 4

MMO: World of Warcraft, Dawn of War, Team Fortress 2

Why not just hold it the Tuesday after the long weekend? It’s only a couple days difference.

Having a Smash event is great and all but someone should organize a mini 360 lan too. Or even just have them at the same time like we did last semester.

That’s what I was shooting for, but honestly I’m going to be busy busy by the end of this week I think. Looks like a nice work load this semester.

Unless Kaz, you want to try and do a double thing with your smash event. There should be more than enough room in the multipurpose room, no?

I absolutely love story in my games, which is usually why I am saddened when a bunch of new games that come out that just don’t hold up storywise. Personally, a *edited* good story can make up for subpar gameplay any day.

But story on a Metal Gear Solid level I only really tolerate in Metal Gear Solid, because I adore it so. I’m not sure how I’d handle it if some other game maker attempted the same thing, and maybe that would just be because they wouldnt have the skill to pull it off.

Also, story can be seamlessly integrated into the game just fine. Bioshock did that handily.

As for the topic, yeah. I imagine the database is probably a real nice way to clear things up. My only issue with it is that I’ve picked the story so far apart on my own already that I know a lot of it!
