I’m going to see if I can get one of my buddies off of friends list who lives in SC to come attend. That we’ll both want to LAN some Halo 1 afterwards.

Actually what is strange is you need an extra 250 posts to go from 3*s to 4*s but only 150 to go from 4*s to 5 *s…

    That can be changed. :P

And make your title permanently read “Noob.”

    Sooo anyways….

I know this was mentioned earlier in thread but not at meeting.

When shall we try having more casual outings? Like eating dinner and such?

    2) Cool enough to talk to nubbies and help them out. (aka me). That’s the type of person that makes me want to keep playing, no matter how much I suck. Just that one instance pushed him up to the top of my list of people I want to play with on Source.

I hereby volunteer for any position available, because I am a petty, petty man desperate for any sort of power.

We’ll probably need a console historian if we plan on doing a lot of events. ;) You’re definitely on my list of people to appoint for a cabinet position.

You can count me in, console def has the resourses to be bigger than the comp portion of the lan events.

Definitely. Use your powers of M.A.-edness to help promote the meeting. Or just tell everyone you know. :P

RedOctane requires a month or so prior to the event. So that’s the only reason I’m ruling them out. I will try Microsoft and Nintendo most like. Laying off of Sony since we don’t currently support any of their games or products.

    So..

    Microsoft

    Nintendo

Yeah. So does the RA in Leatherwood who wants to do it. Well at least 1 70. I think we need to have somewhat of an official vote.

Anybody want to make the poll?

I’m not. I’d rather reroll with a group of people than grind by myself again.

Plus.. It’s an MMO. No point in playing if you’re not playing with someone.

Will there be enough space tho’? Seems like an issue with the grandroom is that we were running out of it.

I have little expierience making fliers, but if I could get some assitance maybe.

I have no problem making ones similar to last LANs. It takes like.. 15 minutes once you get the basic template down.

People can hold multiple positions.. just as long as they don’t cause bias within the council. Check the constitution.

I don’t mean we should put them up for every meeting, but at least once a semester it would be a good idea. That way, new students would know the club EXISTS. How else are we going to get them in?

That’s the job of the M.A. to promote the club on campus and to attract more students to WCU. I’ve suggested posting fliers for the club for awhile. Now maybe if we get an M.A. to do so, we’ll be good.

No you don’t need Live. And I’m not sure if the program works on Macs.. no harm in trying though.

I hate to be a wet blanket, but that leaves no time to get up any fliers. How are we going to atract new members?

We’ve never really put up fliers for the meetings… Tell people you see playing video games in LW. Or word of mouth. Bring it up at the hall meeting if we get the chance.

I concur with Dice, it would be a bad idea to write another position into the constitution for the reasons Dice stipulated. However, webmaster wouldn’t be a bad idea…not trying to step on any toes. But as as Adam said he does do alot for our servers and website, it is a logical conclusion as to what postion to nominate him for.

EDIT – I read the constitution. But I think Liam deserves the position. If we can’t get enough qualified leadership, I’m voting for an amendment to get people like Liam for that position.

I’m pretty sure all it is is making virtual LANs across internet connections. MS doesn’t have the kinda power to prevent that.

    XBOX or PC?

PC would be fairly easy. XBOX is impossible at this point unless you have everyone in the same dorm but even then it might not be possible. Leatherwood has a single closet with 18 24-port switches but depending on how they’re configured you may be limited to a same-wing or a same-floor type deal when it comes to connecting to locally hosted games. I can check it out for you sometime this week if you’d like.

Of course, if you’re talking about piling everyone into a lobby somewhere that’d be much easier to deal with. Leatherwood has a fairly large lobby, as does Scott, Reynolds, and Buchannan. I’d be sweet if we could get the large gameroom in Buchannan but since it’s all-girls now that’s probably not going to happen.

Xbox is not impossible. XBConnect. Won’t have to worry about the system link issue either. Just make sure you have your xbox and PC hooked up at the same time. That’s about the only complication. http://www.xbconnect.com Easy to install, setup and use. It works, I know it does. And you can play from the comfort of your own room. That’s why I included XBC ID’s to the sticky in the Halo subforum.

So to everyone that wants to play zee Halo 1, go to http://www.xbconnect.com and download XBC and set it up. Post your ID into the aforementioned thread – Official Xbox Live Gamertag and XBC ID List. Then from there we’ll figure out when to play.

If I had one, I would. But we’re limited to what people have. And I know a couple people on my hall have 360’s.

Plus it’s easier to drag people to dinner than to a meeting. :P And I mean new people too.
