Console Meeting – 1/31/08

[Oh Malley]

Okay peoples. To make the consoles overthrow the PC portion of the community, we must become more organized and a closer community. To do so, as Console President, I’m calling a console meeting on Thursday, January 31st, 2008 at 8 PM in the UC Food Court.

Dinner and a meeting. Bring your fellow console buddies to grab a bite and socialize and hammer out a little business for the next LAN while we’re at it.

Topics to discuss:

Cabinet Appointments

Games / Tournaments to be held at LAN

Settings for Tournaments

Consoles Nights / Other Events

Equipment Issues

Community Involvement on IRC / Forums / On-line Gaming

Other Social Non-Gaming Events

[Ephraim]

I hereby volunteer for any position available, because I am a petty, petty man desperate for any sort of power.

[Thor]

You can count me in, console def has the resourses to be bigger than the comp portion of the lan events.

We’ll probably need a console historian if we plan on doing a lot of events. You’re definitely on my list of people to appoint for a cabinet position.

Definitely. Use your powers of M.A.-edness to help promote the meeting. Or just tell everyone you know.

[Oh Malley]

….Is anybody else coming? It’d be more comforting to know. Also, I appreciate the support of some of the PC members who already said they were coming too.

[Kuros]

I will probably, maybe be there.

[Heritage]

i might be there, if you guys need any help with lan events Norton 313 has 360’s, lcd tvs and 4 copies of most shooters.

[Oh Malley]

Trust me. We’ll need it. We always do.

[TrebuShae]

I would imagine, since you fine gents voted me in as VP of the console nature, that I will be there as well!

[Falcon]

hey, good use of your first post!

[TrebuShae]

Yeah, apparently I lost the pass and info for my old login… hey, second post! I shall bring others who prospect to push a few other titles that we didn’t really get to mention the other week.

[Oh Malley]

Yeah. Shae I’m going to allow you to make some appointments as well as far as tournament advisors go. You know more people than I do and can help enlist the help of the local game gurus. I’m planning on having Stephen as the Gears of War advisor. I’d imagine Matt would be Smash advisor. But, we’ll leave it to the meeting to make everything official.

We can look up and reset your old password if you want.

[TrebuShae]

Oh no Liam, it’s fine. This name currently matches most of my other logins, including IRC. Also, since I pretty much live next door to Matt and we play Smash religiously, he’s informed me that he doesn’t want to run the tourneys anymore… but I’m really really wanting to do so. Thursday sounds like it’s going to be great. Can’t wait to start getting more in order.

[Oh Malley]

Yeah. Me too. I’m more wanting to focus on the console community building since I want that to be the primary goal for this semester.. and hopefully following ones.

[Ephraim]

I will be attending and I will bring along my god, spot.

[Phonetically Phamous (dice]

err,, i’m tied up

sry i missed it

[Heritage]

sorry oh malley. I was planing on coming but feel asleep, my bad.

…*edited* rain puts me out to sleep faster than anything…

[Ephraim]

Just got back from the meeting. It was fun. There was hair-braiding!

[TrebuShae]

Yes, yes the meeting was eventful and informal, as promised. PROMOTE CONSOLES IN YOUR HALL. Mario Kart 64 tourney FTW.

[Oh Malley]

I’m a man of my word. What can I say?
