Oh MalleyParticipantAll the maps should work except for the Foundry variations. However, if you can hook them up to Live (which I have in the past), you can go into the marketplace and download the Heroic map pack, now that it is free.
Oh MalleyParticipantYeah.. Ephraim, you do realize the only people that were in the guild were Stephen (Mr. Button’s Handler) and a friend of his. It’s not like we had a good group of people playing the game.
Oh MalleyParticipantPersonal reasons and beliefs.
Oh MalleyParticipantActually, I’m leaving the club entirely. I’m only around to help Shae out with any questions she has or her requests for advice and opinions.
Oh MalleyParticipantWell, if you read my original post,

Okay, so I want general input on this question from the console community.it appears you’ve misinterpreted mine completely.
Secondly,
not everyone brings their consoles OR their TVs even if you ask them. And there’s a good portion of people who play on their friend’s/roommates 360’s. So I’d probably say less than a majority have an available 360
And it does tie up additional resources. To pull off a decent FFA round, you need about 6-8 people, therefore that’s 3-4 TVs being split screen since everyone knows how ridiculous it is to do a 4 person split screen on TV’s smaller than the 26 inch range. So, for those FFA rounds, that’s AT LEAST 3 consoles, and 3 TVs. For a 3v3/4v4, it would take 1-2 TVs, and 1-2 consoles. So that’s a grand total of 4-6 consoles and 4-6 TVs which we don’t even have right now. Yes we’ve had that many before, BUT generally 1 or 2 consoles ends up as a free play consoles as well as the TVs. We’re trying to limit the number of tournaments by the way. If you were a part of the console community and attended the meetings, you would’ve known that. But since you are NOT part of the community NOR attend either of the console meetings, you obviously don’t.
Oh MalleyParticipantLike I said…teams will be randomized. Meaning they will be drafted directly before the tournament begins.

This game is essential for teamwork on the PC, I played the xbox version and found it very easy to go solo and just rape, mostly because on the xbox you get the best weapons in the game at the beginning, but I didn’t see a way to make a custom class, kinda sucks for yall. Anyways I like doing team things overall because FFA just is not fun to me in this game. You can create custom classes. If you play on Live, you have to get to a certain rank to unlock the feature.

Not sure how it works in consoles but in PCs, large team-based tournaments aren’t any fun unless you know the people you’re playing with. Keep the teams at 2v2, it makes it much easier for random people to learn to play with each other. You might try having a team-based tournament AND a free-for-all tournament. That way you let the small-team loving people have it their way and the people who didn’t bring buddies have it their way. Both could occur at the same time if you limit registration to one or the other and it really doesn’t tie up any additional resources since the people were going to play in a Halo 3 tournament anyway.
Actually, it ties up more if they’re run concurrently. We have limited copies of Halo 3, Xbox 360s, and TVs. We don’t have the luxury of each person having their own gaming machine.
I leave it up to the community to organize its own freeplay if they want to do a mini free for all tournament or team games afterward.
Oh MalleyParticipantNevermind then.

Too bad because at $50 that xbox hd-dvd drive is tempting, specially since you can plug it into a PC and it comes with 6 free hd-dvds (King Kong + 5 more by mail)Too bad I can’t find it anywhere.

Now I am curiousMaybe you should get on TF2 when I tell you to.
Oh MalleyParticipantThat would be the correct form of the statement. Although Thor may never admit to it again… but then again, I know much more about him than I ever needed to know.

Oh MalleyParticipant…..I hope you realize if they do find evidence of terrorism in WoW.. Blizzard’s going to be found in the Dept of Homeland Security.
Makes me think of that Robot Chicken sketch.
“We voted democrat!” “TERRORISM!”
Oh MalleyParticipantGuess who else has the Orange Box?
Oh MalleyParticipantWorking on it.
Oh MalleyParticipant“Someone is there. Say that you see them.” “Why? I do not see her.” “It scares the living hell out of them.” “R O F L!”
Oh MalleyParticipant
My shirt is made of win.

Working on brackets during the set-up.
Oh MalleyParticipantLooks pretty, but I question as to how it will play. Generally, when they revamp graphics entirely, they put it at the cost of the solid gameplay formula they had before. We’ll see whenever someone buys it and has everybody play it.
Oh MalleyParticipantI agree. I’d wait it out and buy the full version whenever it hit shelves in presumably in ’09. Racing is cool and all, but I don’t want to have to re-buy the game in the next year or so to get the full experience. I’d just spend the $40 on something else or save up and get R6:V2.
Oh MalleyParticipantOkay guys. Enough with the flaming. Let the fire rescue team due its job.
Oh MalleyParticipantIt was Call of Duty 4, not Rainbow Six. I suggested Rainbow Six since the new one is coming out next month, and it tends to be a popular game and series.
Oh MalleyParticipantWe have to sacrifice the cost of having some games not on the roster because we don’t have the time to do a tournament for all of them. Granted there is always free play. PC has reduced the number of tournaments and now consoles are doing the same. Just so we have time to finish the tournaments and to foster free play time into the LAN events.
If we added every game we wanted to play to the list of tournaments, yeah it would draw masses of people. But we don’t have the time to run 20-30 + tournaments.

Dude there a lot more than u think….its the whole reason the club is the way it is….it became a chain reaction like i said…when people find out that the club isnt interested in things like ps3 and other pc games they wont show up to lans or to the meetings..and one person isnt enough to change that because if one shows up out of the large boddy it wont do any good..we got to get these people to come forward together and not individuallyAnd it sounded like you knew of these people. Tell them about the club and get them involved or to at least attend the meetings. Bring them to the meetings. Well tell people about the meetings by word of mouth to show up or bring them ourselves. It’s how it works.
Oh MalleyParticipantIt also doesn’t help you’re case when you enter in with hostility or just ranting and raving about the PS3’s superiority and listing the inferiority of other systems. You get defensive when people bash the PS3, other people get defensive when you bash their systems too. Also, you never propose any sort of solution or any suggestions to the club. The only thing that I know of that you’ve requested is a Resistance tournament. And after polling the rest of the community several times, there is no general interest in it at all. Don’t say I haven’t. YOU haven’t been to the meetings to witness it or make a case and platform for your suggestions there. From what I’ve heard, you proclaim that we’re anti-Sony, Pro-Xbox, etc. I haven’t heard this from you, but I have my sound arguments why we don’t have any PS3 tournaments.
If you have a problem with a system, address those in charge. You’ve yet to approach me about anything other than your questions at the LAN, which I addressed my reasons there. And then I heard how you’ve ranted to Adam about changes. I’ve yet to hear ANY of the suggestions regarding consoles, and should I not be the first you go to? Instead, you go to the people who possess more power. I have made myself available to all members of the community, to address their questions and concerns, to hear out their suggestions, and to provide my personal input or stance if needed or requested. If you ask a majority of the people of this club, they will agree. All I ask is that you respect me enough to address me first. If you feel that I haven’t performed my duties as Console President to the abilities after speaking with me, THEN confront the executive staff.

Check that *edited* out. It’s like we already knew someone was going to ask for XBL gamertags.
Oh MalleyParticipantI don’t count the sword since that’s all it does. Same with the gravity hammer. It’s meant to be a melee weapon. Duh’r.
Oh MalleyParticipantMm.. maybe for the sake of number of people, we might want to take out the singer. That way you have only 3 people per band rather than 4.
Oh MalleyParticipantJust had a superb idea. Or at least I think so. Having grudge matches against the communities top players to form “dream teams” so to speak.
Games and Formats:
Halo 1 – 2v2s
Halo 2 – 2v2s and 4v4s
Halo 3 – 2v2s and 4v4s
Gears of War – 2v2 and 4v4s
Call of Duty 4 – 4v4s
SSBM – 2v2s
Generally it would be a best of 5 maps. The 2v2s would be slayer only for the shooters. SSBM would just use normal competitive settings. For 4v4s, (excluding Gears), it would be a mix of objective and slayer. The community itself could vote its top players for each game. This would just promote recognition for individuals as well as have a fun contest within the community itself. We could do this on a weekly basis, bi-weekly, or monthly.
Granted – I’m not going to force this if the community says it’s a bad idea or isn’t interested. This is just an idea I had today.
Oh MalleyParticipantI doubt anybody would know that other than the Bungie staff itself. There almost may need differences in damage such as shield damage and health damage. Because Covenant weapons are known to deplete shields rapidly, but can hardly finish the job unless you unload on them. Also, I believe the spikers have a buffed melee damage because of their bladed end. Maybe. Oh well, Brute Shot is probably the best melee weapon for damage though, since it’s the only one with a one hit kill melee.. jumping melee that is.
