seriously though the default settings have sounds up to like 30 kills or something.
Ok just to clarify on the quake sounds, I will most likely only use 3 levels, killing spree (5 kills), dominating (10 kills) and godlike (20 kills) so you don’t hear the sounds all the bloody time.
Well right now its just something that I am looking into, maybe only have a couple of the sounds and not the whole spectrum you know?
Oh also I will be fixing the respawn times down to 6-8 seconds.
I just want to make a quick note to any who might read this and get confused: for any of the positions where it says so and so wins by default, we DID still vote that person in, the by default just means that there was no opposition to them being elected.

Yes at the beginning of the day I thought you might be outsed as the TF2 CL. Then when you put all those messages on the forums and contacted Bitey etc I thought you were going to get another chance. Things didn’t work out that way but it was nothing personal really. I appreciate the time you have put forward for this server but perhaps this is for the best. You seem to be busy most of the time whereas I have the extra time to work on some of these problems. Even as CL its not like I am going to shut off what you or anybody else has to say about the server, quite the opposite, I appreciate the suggestions and I agree with many of the items that you have brought forth. But in general I seem to have an easier time getting in contact with the right people to get stuff done. I certainly hope I do not let you down. I agree you deserved the right to defend yourself but things kinda just unfolded very fast. Maybe the two of us can work out some joint CL thing at least temporarily. In the end, our goals are the same as you already mentioned: to get a good working TF2 server.
Tomorrow (actually later today) I will begin scouring google for ideas to help us out. There is no reason we cannot be successful here as we have both the personnel and resources to build a successful server.
Voting really cannot work with the way TF2 is setup now with mani; after 3-4 seconds, the voting window goes away (its a glitch with the TF2 code, NOT mani), so we are better off using a (GOOD) rotation. I think we have good maps listed (heck, I chose them!) but I think we need to work on a better order for the rotation.
Another issue we have to address is the problem the server has where after every steam update, mani and hlstats break and the rotation breaks. Basically our server gets put back to default settings, which are less than optimal. There may be ways to fix this (google), I read somewhere about making files read only for example to try and combat them from being overridden.
What I am saying is before we even implement some of the changes kappa suggested, we need to make our server stable and user friendly to play on, then we can worry about stuff like forced melee, WCU logos, etc.
yeah… grab one of my copies from the CRIB, the ones that say “use the key from the computer case” Those are all 32 bit.
And I understand that; my point was that Falcon only has 2GB ram, which is why I was asking him why he was running vista 64. Hell my computer is doing almost nothing right now but it is using up 1.9GB of RAM as is.
Agreed, but Vista 64 uses up considerably more memory than Vista 32, due to that same 64 bit addressing.

why do you even need 64 bit virtualization? Your computer isn’t taking any of the advantages of vista64 anyway; you would need 4+GB of ram for that. In fact, vista64 uses MORE ram than vista32, so it is stupid to use it on a computer that has less than 4GB of ram.
