nvm I was thinking the dorms were all on the same vlan (which actually would make more sense) but there might still be a way to get it to work; for example you can remote desktop from a computer in norton to a computer in harrill (i believe this is true) so the vlans might be mostly transparent among the dorms.I imagine they are transparent but it all boils down to how they have them seperated. They have the port filtering nailed to where most default protocols are blocked between the resnet subnets but other somewhat useful ones aren’t. If the right port(s) were cleared I imagine networking could route them so they go throughout the resnet system. Hard part is finding what port it is and to do that you’ll probably need to use a network analyzer to monitor system link traffic as I can’t find the ports for it listed anywhere.
For those who want this really bad, how about helping do some research on this front. Look through instruction manuals and/or ask MS. This process would be much easier if we had the ports.

I can’t find the ports listed anywhere. They might be in an instruction manual.

Make sure you mention this at the meeting, perhaps have a computer there just for registration.

From a quick google I can guess that yellow dog is the poor man’s linux. Apparently it’s only designed to work on IBM processors, none of which have ever been very good in computers. Since it only works on the G4 and PS3 I can hazard a guess you probably won’t be getting the upper tier of support when you ask for help…

FFS, we have always done Thursday for meetings, I didn’t do Thursday because it is the first hometown game for the football team, if it is really going to be a big deal I will move it again….I’m just saying you won’t have anyone there. If extreme lack of attendance isn’t a problem then by all means go ahead and have it on a 3 day weekend but all you’ll get is one hell of an unproductive meeting. Definately not the attendence you’ll want when voting in officers.

My original definition for this was like 60-75% required to start a votemap. Whatever I said is what it will be but I don’t feel like hunting it down ATM.
Admins will have the option to start a votemap. IDK if they will have the ability to override it as that creates problems with admins voting until they get what they want, which ironically is not what I want. And no, new admins will not have the ability to do this, if restrictions are possible. I don’t want to create too many tiers of admins but I’d like some of the more regular and experienced (IMO of course) admins to have a little more control over the server than brand new admins.
I think a good balance is 4-5 maps in the vote, picked randomly with the recent-play restriction Liam talked about. Maybe admin can start and execs can override, IDK how I want to work it yet.
I hate the be the bearer of bad news but the 29th is on the labor day friday. No one is going to be there.
You need to move it. Why can’t we do it that Tuesday like we’ve always done?

i dont think we need an rtv. thats my opinion… i feel that wed end up playing the same maps frequently… if were going to do that. then we might as well go back to map voting and not have a rotation.It would require a supermajority vote to even start a mapvote and when the vote started it would be with random maps.
There will be no votemap rotation while I’m here.
