On the contrary Mitch, based off of what Ive heard from quite a few people, Rydell did try to populate the server. Regardless though, since Nickname wants to run this server, you have my ok to let him.

From what I heard at the meetings, whenever he was asked about it he admitted to spending most of his time in other games and that he’d “spend more time in TF2”. I’ll admit I didn’t monitor the server like I do now but it was broken for the better part of a month before the club historian discovered it.

I’ll let nickname speak for himself but he has said at every asking that he didn’t want any exec or CL position.

I am in favor of getting rid of the TF2 server and replacing it with another L4D server or something. C’mon, it’s been a year now.

If the current TF2 CL doesn’t care, which so far it appears he doesn’t, I have a plan already in place for removing him and putting someone who actually does care in. We have the resources and, as proven this past summer, we have the potential to have a great TF2 server, it’s just that the past 2 CLs just don’t give a *edited*. Well I do care and inaction won’t be tolerated much longer.

I had WAY too many people spamming to remove Nuke to put it back in the general rotation. I don’t mind having an admin put the map on every now and then but having it in the regular rotation is just too toxic to the player numbers.

TAG has both the custom player skins and the admin skins in place seperately on our servers. If you want them let me know and I can get them added.

The admin skin is cool but like someone else said, it announces when admits AREN’T on and that can create problems. TAG allows the admin to pick whether or not to have the admin skin. That might be a decent alternative if we were to go this route.

As to what approach do the republicans have that could help solve it? Go ahead and blame Clinton now for the housing crisis, but we saw what happened when we gave power to a republican for 8 years, lots of war and debt woohoo. We might be in for a *edited* load of debt, but at least we will have something to show for it in the end.

Republicans can’t do anything to solve this, no party can. Trying to solve it makes it worse, as the stock market is proving every day. Anyone else notice that everytime Obama opens his mouth the market takes a turn for the tragic? It’s fallen 3000 points since he took office and shows no sign of turning around. Everytime Bush tried to fix the market it did similar.

I don’t blame Clinton, I blame his administration. There’s clear, undenyable evidence that his goons directly caused this and Obama is calling on some of these same people to fix it. That’s either trying to set the nation up for failure or not caring and turning a blind eye to it. At this point I’m not sure which.

Let’s stay on topic here, don’t deflect to wars that Obama himself has committed us to staying in. If you are so concerned about deficits, why are the democrat’s including 8,000 earmarks in the emergency spending bill they’re pushing through right now? Originally there weren’t going to be any emergency spending bills without giving the public a week to review it on the internet, not to mention earmarks and pet projects were supposed to be eliminated. More rhetoric, I guess, just like the 4+ lobbyists that were given wavers to bypass the appointment rule.

If you want to talk about having something to show for spending, what exactly are we going to have to show for the stimulus? Only 3% gets spent in 2009 and only 16% by the end of 2010. We won’t have anything for a decade and while I’m sure you’ll tout this as future planning, not two years ago you guys were hounding Bush because the jobs gained were lower-end, oddly enough the same type of jobs that Obama is focusing on creating. Also, I don’t know if you’ve ever payed attention but the vast majority of constuction jobs are filled by non-English speaking hispanics. Now since speaking English is a requirement to gain citizenship one could assume Obama is creating jobs for temporary workers and illegals. Yeah, that’ll help.

I advise against some of those things. If you know the ins and outs of Vista, that article reads like it was written by a moron. The few tweaks he actually got right apply to XP just as much as Vista.

Adam, those of us with faster computers see no performance decrease and considering that XP wasn’t really designed for any sort of multi-core use, especially not quad-core, Vista uses our computers to the max. When I used XP, load balancing was absolutely horrid, XP would let a core max out and leave others completely unused. Sure if you’ve got an older computer you shouldn’t be using Vista but if you’ve got a gaming computer built in the last 2 years there’s no reason not to use Vista.

I never said warn more than once. If you’ve warned them in the last month I don’t care what you do so long as it stops. I do ask that you slay before kicking/banning. If they’re always doing it feel free to skip to kicking/banning. As usual, all I ask is that you use common sense and your best judgement.

If they do it before it says “Terrorist/Counter-Terrorists Win” slay them. Doing it at the end of the round IS STILL AGAINST THE RULES!!1!11one! The difference is that since it gives no advantage I don’t care about it as much as during the round.

    I’m done arguing with this.

If you can’t see why breaking the law means you get punished I’ll never convince you out of your little rant and flame over wanting to smoke pot all day without risking punishment.

Somehow you’ve twisted this around to comparing legalization of pot smoking to women’s suffrage and minority civil rights. I guess you REALLY feel oppressed that you can’t smoke pot in front of cops.

You still gets points during the warmup round so it still gives the same long-term advantage as any other round. The only difference is you don’t have a monetary incentive to do it.

    /end debate on that one

At the end of the round is still up in the air. While it doesn’t really give a benefit, some players will sneak it further and further into the “end” of the round trying to push the envelope. If a team hasn’t won yet, slay them. If they do it to get to a gun they ordinarily would not have been able to get to, slay them the next round.

What benefits are you referring to? Trying to sell a taxed commodity in direct competition with an untaxed variant or that same commodity doesn’t typically work out well. But hey what do I know? Common sense is never right… Now if you consider a legal way to get stoned a primary benefit you’ll never get your wish with this because your personal enjoyment is not Congress’ primary concern. It usually takes more than that.

Having the right to do it in my home, or in designated bars/coffee shops would be awesome, and more than enough for me. Tobacco is legal, yet isn’t allowed inside most places.

Idk how it works in Texas but there are very few places in the rest of the country that prohibit tobacco. The handful that do are far outshadowed by those that don’t. I guess next we’re going to have to create a “pot smoking” section in restaurants.

    .cb new_rayz said:

Unless, I blow it in your face, or unless you are a weird person and like walking two inches behind someone smoking a joint, you won’t get any trace of it in your system outside. You actually think me smoking outside would cause others to get high….lol suuurreee.

You ever walked 10 feet behind a smoker? Apparently not because if you had you’d be smelling it. If you can smell it, it’s going in your system.

    .cb new_rayz said:

Oh and lets not forget you can intake THC in other ways besides smoking it. So we could easily make some law prohibiting smoking in public places, but there is no way magic brownies could harm you’re precious clean blood, unless you were hypnotized or forced to eat it.

So since it can be consumed in multiple manners means a ban is wrong? I don’t get the argument here.

    .cb new_rayz said:

And even if 2/3rd dont support it as your old gallup poll shows, 1/3rd of society would. Does that minority have no say? Kind of hypocritical to use that argument especially since you’re a republican, who always complain about abuse of the majority.

Yes isn’t it odd that the Republican minority gets completely ignored, to the point where now we can’t even propose changes to legislation in one house on Congress. It’s funny how now the “oppressed” minority should have a say when everyday your own party says and acts otherwise. Why don’t you just tack it on to a spending bill, if this move is as popular as you claim said congressmen will get re-elected. It’s not like your majority couldn’t push it through, right?

Yes Nickname, let’s trust the San Francisco press. They’re always on the pulse of what the mainstream of America wants. If the rest of the world ran like California, not only would we have no power but we’d be one really screwed up country. On the other hand, we’d all be high so who’d really care.

even if it were to become legal, that doesn’t mean you can’t discourage its use. Look at all the tobacco commercials. All I’m saying is there should be the option, I don’t think the government should have authority over punishing people for health problems, because when you boil it down marijuana, tobacco, and alcohol abuse are just health problems, not some crime against society.

Yeah let’s look at all those anti-tobacco commercials, then you go outside and see how well they work. Oh wait, they don’t.

I can’t get drunk or cancer from walking behind someone drinking a beer or smoking tobacco. I can, however, get high simply by breathing in second hand marijuana smoke and even light exposure to it shows up in drug screens and takes days to flush.

You decision to ruin your own life can ruin others’ simply by being near them while doing it. Now imagine, if you swapped just half of the people smoking tobacco with pot smokers, there’s no way you wouldn’t get through the day without at least SOME exposure and there goes pretty much all drug screening right there.

Have you even considered the effect this has on other people or do you just care about getting high? Do it in your house, I mean hell it’s not like you’re likely to get caught, just don’t force your life decisions on society. That’s all this is really about.

    Oh and Nickname, 2/3 > 1/3.

new_rayz, cite your sources. If it’s as harmless and helpful as you claim it should be fairly easy to back it up with government studies and medical research performed by REAL labs.

Also, the whole “it’s a nonviolent crime” argument is garbage. There are thousands of people put in jail each year for nonviolent crimes, it doesn’t mean they aren’t crimes. You know doing it is against the law and you do it anyway. Stop pretending that just because “the law is wrong” makes it ok to break the law. Enron execs were jailed for a nonviolent crime. Barely drunk drivers are jailed. Tax evaders are jailed. Drug dealers are jailed. What makes the laws against your crimes so special that you shouldn’t be penalized for breaking them?

I also think it should be allowed for recreational use. It’s less harmless than alcohol. waaayy less harmful.

And look how all the restrictions work on that. Oh wait they don’t, probably 9/10 alcoholics started underage and this will be the same way. If this is legalized they’ll be openly smoking it in middle school. Mark my words.

    .cb new_rayz said:

They can’t control anything, they try and stop one house, then three more pop up. It puts more people in jail than any other offense. Which costs us money. Lot’s of money. Money that we definitely need now.

So since too many people do it we should legalize it? By that argument murder and rape should be legal.

    .cb new_rayz said:

It’s time we break that reputation. It’s a reputation built on ignorance, fear, and lies.

I’ll ask you this then. If it’s such a harmless drug with so many benefits, why has it been banned and publicly scorned for the last 80 years? Why is it that the only people who ever seem to want it unbanned are hippies who want it for “medicinal purposes”.

    Maybe process priority or affinity?

Last night the problem was that the GGDM server was pretty well populated and we also lagged horribly. We’ve tried processor priority in the past but when the core it’s on is at 100% it doesn’t really matter and usually massive spikes like that occur when both cores are nearly capped.

Is processor assignment something I’m allowed to play with? If so I can try to balance things out based on what I’ve noticed the last week.
