    I’m going to refrain from commenting on this size of my girlfriend’s nonexistent penis.

    For a final word for those that wish to listen. CRT monitors are better gaming monitors than LCD. A typical “from Gateway/Dell” CRT monitor will run about 75 Hz. The vast majority of LCDs including my fairly expensive gaming LCD run about 2 ms. Hz has almost NOTHING to do with fps on an LCD because it draws images by lighting up crystals (hence liquid crystal display) instead of having to draw them vertically in lines like a CRT does. Vsync synchronizes the drawing on the monitor with the incoming signal from the graphics card. Doing anything above what the monitor can display is again, pointless.

    I just bought a 22 inch Samsung Widescreen with a 3000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and 2ms response time. It has basically replaced my TV.

    Betting is pushing it anyways. Banking would be taking it a little over the top for me.

    I hit the campus mail with Outlook and I think a few other RCCs have been able to forward it. Ask about it when you bring your lappy by the CRIB.

    You can go to Google and do a search for “Windows Live Mail client” and download the Outlook Expressish client that will get mail from catamount.wcu.edu. Just set it up as an http server for incoming outgoing. It’s really simple.

    They will just disable your crap on our network. You usually don’t get in trouble over wireless routers.

    Technically you can use any port you want to host an http server. I’m sure the packetshaper blocks requests for http protocol on anything but wcu.edu webservers rather than port blocking. It’s so easy to get around a port block that they primarily block protocols anyways.

    I guess women really do always win. :rolleyes: Urban got banned from the forums.

    And as Kuros said, there are behind-the-scenes performance hits (more like massacres) going on that we can’t do anything about until the server is officially 100% ours. The minute that happens the server will be rebooted with a few simple changes and magically the reg issues will disappear from all the in-game servers.

    I plan on using the famous RCC format button.

    i’m back in right now… still, ITS has really gotta start thinking here. at LEAST tell us why

    As an RCC, you should know exactly why. The vast majority of malware use irc protocols to send information back to the malware author. I can see where they are coming from. I’m trying to get them to unblock Gamesurge specifically, because most viruses if not all, do not use Gamesurge to send data to the author.

    Disabling Vsync is POINTLESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU CANNOT USE MORE FPS THAN YOUR MONITOR CAN REFRESH!!!!!!!!!!! If you are capped at 60, going over it means you still get….guess what?! 60!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!!!!! /thread

    EDIT: Disabling Vsync also makes your games more likely to tear. I ALWAYS play with Vsync on. It’s pointless to run above vsync fps and it makes your games run more smoothly anyways.

    Official word from the president. IRC ports are NOT blocked. IRC protocol IS blocked. I’m trying to get them to open up irc.gamesurge.net on port 7000 or 8080. We’ll see where it goes. We may have to set up a proxy server if all else fails.

    ok help, what does this mean?

    Looking up irc.gamesurge.net

    * Connecting to irc.gamesurge.net (80.64.134.125) port 6668…

    * Connected. Now logging in…

    * Your host is trying to (re)connect too fast — throttled

    * Disconnected (Remote host closed socket).

    Close Xchat and wait a few minutes then try again. If it still doesn’t work, try reinstalling xchat. Make sure you have the archive version as well.

    i’m sure we can set it to a per map game config.. each map will have its own set.

    You actually have to edit the map itself to do this, so it would in fact be a per map config.

    Rock2 was the prison where you got the warden’s key and flooded the map with gas. It was a GREAT map.

    I’m more than interested in this idea, and so were some higher ups actually. This is something the (new?) president can decide with the new exec council. And yes I do plan to run again.
