maps we used for the last lan that are good to use again are ctf_turbine and ctf_mach4. We have used ctf_well in the past but I think its too big; same with 2fort. Since we are only doing 5v5, the key is having relatively small maps. And maps that won’t end in a tie or stalemate. That’s why we usually went ctf in the past. This game needs Rock2 really bad.

ParticipantYou may have some malware running in the background. Even with all my G15 applets and a few chrome windows open I only have 67 processes. What kind of graphics card do you have?

Plus it wouldn’t be a lan if you weren’t there *edited*ing about getting knocked out in the semi’s or quarter’s for CS: S … ;D <3I really hate Counter-Strike. I’d rather play CoD4 or WoW. CS is so boring compared to other games.

And that’s when people pushed AMD the hardest.AMD used to spank Intel. In fact, Intel used to be AMD’s biatch. Not many people that I know of that overclocked randomly pulled their heatsinks off in game. While I have fried AMD chips doing really stupid things with them, I’ve never seen one start smoking or reach 300 degrees C.

wut, yall are coming and not playing? We just built high end gaming PCs. Of course we’ll be playing. I was just generalizing. I always thought the more the merrier.

go to support the lan and the gaming club not because certain people are going, go visit people you want to see on another weekend.I do plan on going to the lan, but for now that is up in the air. Alot of things are going on with my family right now and dates are set around the lan event. I dont know for sure if I will have a chance to go, but I always plan to go to every one that we have.
Why wouldn’t we support people coming to the LAN for friends if it meant more people at the LAN? There is a spectator fee…

I’ll be there, and you better be too, it wouldn’t be a LAN without you there *edited*ing about 1.6 sucking, etc
I don’t think they voted 1.6 in did they? Besides if I don’t go who will they ask to fix the servers once they’ve screwed them up?

Who screwed up 1.6? I like how you covered up the 90 some thousands of people that like CS:SHow many people play CS:S is irrelevant. I’ll gladly post a pic of CS:S statistics. But since that’s what you play, that’s all you care about.

it begins? wtf? It is doing exactly what it is supposed to be doing….Yes, blocking legitimate players is exactly what it’s supposed to be doing. Never mind the overhead created when it has to check EVERY CLIENT EVERY TIME THEY LOG IN. I guess it’s not a big deal though, since CS:S is the only loaded server anyways.

ParticipantIs that why the population in the servers has dwindled and many of the old regulars won’t post or play here anymore? Maybe it’s time to admit that the executives are doing something wrong and that they need to put their ego to the side. I think some changes need to be made, starting at the top. The proof is in the numbers. Hell even the founders and ex-presidents are wary of what they post.

Ah yes, I remember overclocking that box. Get some more ram dude, it’s like 30 bucks for 2 gigs now.

nope, 380 was it; 385 would post but not stable to boot into windows. Keep in mind my motherboard is only officially rated up to 1066 fsb anyways.Still, not bad for a 2 year old cpu. I still fail, but only a little (like .1 points)
EDIT: I didn’t realize I actually achieved a higher frequency than you
though I guess yours is a 1333fsb cpu and mine is “only” a 1066fsbI wasn’t going for maximum frequency, it’s running right where I want it to. Props on your overclock though. It just proves how versatile those Core 2 Duos are.
Kuros
ParticipantTurn off speed stepping and use the lower multiplier and you maybe be able to get that last little bit of frequency.

ParticipantKuros
ParticipantMine is up to 5.8 now, I’ve found the culprit. When I get bored again I’ll bring it up to 5.9. My tRC timing was too high. It was having trouble accessing RAM from one stick to another.
Kuros
ParticipantLOL bots=massive cpu load. sooner or later you ppl are going to catch tron on fire or something.

Get the 22″ Samsung. As Nickname said, the are superior in every way. Like the Borg, only closer to perfection.+1
Kuros
ParticipantJust because I like to argue with Nickname (from Anandtech, who I now believe to be reliable since my CPU subscription):
“For now if you are looking for the very best overclocking memory you can buy for your new rig, then Corsair Dominator PC2-8888 should definitely be on your list. So should OCZ PC2-9200 Flex XLC. Both memories provide remarkable performance and push DDR2 performance to new levels. The absolute fastest memory tested is definitely Corsair Dominator DDR2-1111, which reached DDR2-1315 at 5-5-5-15 timings and the even more remarkable DDR2-1233 at 4-4-4-12 timings. If your platform will be 680i or 650i then Dominator is your best choice. OCZ Flex XLC is a bit slower at DDR2-1300 on the same platform, but it is also an excellent choice.”

LOL THEY ARE EXACTLY EXACTLY THE SAME.
SRSLY if it takes that long to look at a graph to see which is which because they are all on top of each other, I’d say that’s pretty much a branding preference at that point.
Kuros
ParticipantFunny thing is that this ram came up as a 5.9 on the Windows Index when it was UNDERCLOCKED!!! Maybe it’s AMDs better memory management, I don’t know. Intel has always been more for bandwidth than low latency, so I’m figuring that would bump that score up. Honestly I’m not that worried about it, 5.7 is still hella good.
Kuros
ParticipantBased on benchmark scores, Corsair XMS is the best RAM on the market. Even though the performance increases are marginal at best, I trust Corsair more than any other memory company out there. Call me a fan boy if you want, I don’t care, Corsair is the best memory /thread.
