Sorry but it is in the official constitution… It might be a joke but our sponsors won’t get it and they matter. And you guys might have voted on spending the money but it is not in the minutes…thus did not officially occur (at least according to SGA). And if as Dice said we don’t really have RedBull then why don’t we have Bawls? Just trying to understand that one. ComputerDynamics…he only quit being our sponsor because he didn’t like the person that went in there…don’t know who it was, but I know Tony and that is how he operates. He loved me and Adam and he really liked Dice. He really detested Josh, and I don’t know how he feels about Shane. But if he’s not sponsoring then the person that went in there did so with the wrong attitude and cost us that sponsorship.

well, I would have to agree, with that statement in the constitution, our club does seem like a joke now to me too, But I was hoping that maybe it could be saved and revived somehow. I guess people really did love Adam…shame he had to graduate. Much love to DICE!!

The Bawls things was a joke…you remimber when we would get both red bull and bawls… BTW do we have red bull as a sponsor?

Dice we are so going to party this weekend!!! Make sure Nicole is going to be there, I miss that girl too. Only privledged people get the invite to the best LAN afterparty so far and guess what you, Loot, and Nicole make VIP!

It worked last year and at least for the prior 5 years, I know because I was at WCU. When was your freshman year Cacophony?

That is how I wanted it, made it easier for us to keep track of, but I don’t think that is how it was told to the members or voted on…I believe it was stated if you pay $10 you get into 4 LANS free…So those that paid at the last lan still get 3 more. But I was against that because of the confusion and headache it will cause…i.e. at this LAN. But if you were at that meeting, you remimber I was overruled by several people, (an error in judgement if you ask me)

BTW, I demand this statement be removed from the constitution…”Furthermore, Mitchell Pate must report to the LAN at the discretion of the president.”

On the grounds it is not relevant to anything and let’s say that Mitchell Pate graduates and moves to California or some other state or country, he will want to get on with his life at some point, and future presidents might not even know who he is… THIS IS NOT RELEVANT. Let’s be real people, it doesn’t belong in the constitution. And even if it did, it doesn’t belong where its located. Notice we do have a LAN Event Section…it would go there. HOWEVER, if you have read the constitution you know that it is extremely out of place. IT DOES NOT BELONG!!

I move that we remove “Furthermore, Mitchell Pate must report to the LAN at the discretion of the president.” from the constitution.

BTW, who is sitting at the door collecting money this time? Make sure they know to get names and player ID’s and how are they going to know who is a paid member and who’s not? Just wondering…I like doing it fyi.

Well hopefully someone did get the banner put up. Have you guys thought about getting put on the scrolling banner at the Light? It is easy, just fill out a form at the information desk in the UC and they add it. It is really cool to see WCU Gaming Club LAN event scrolling across the board like all the other important information! I beleive Adam had it added to the board for last septembers LAN.

Guess we need to get on the club executives about getting the constitution updated…Probably Webmaster…But if you would like, when I get home I can attach it…cause you know I have it:) And you right, it is not mentioned in the constitution, nor should it be.

It is just good business that when you offer products or services, the executives shouldn’t talk bad about those products or services even jokingly…or you run the risk of losing potential customers. That was my point.

That’s fine, it just seemed like you guys blew alot of money on a small amount of prizes. So I was just alittle worried. BTW you guys should have voted on spending money at a meeting and it should have been in the minutes. I hear we lost our first official sponsor, I wonder why that was. Why did we only get sponsored by 2 or 3 companies? The requirement typically is give them atleast 1months notice have at least 50 people for Alienware, (200 people for ATI), Thermaltake didn’t care so long as we posted pictures and a short story of what happened, Josh Schwartz was handling ATD, Bawls was a simple form just tell them how many people you are expecting, etc. Granted, I hope that from the past lans we have continued posting/ emailing pictures and a short story of what happened at the LANS so that we could keep each sponsor happy…It is sort of a requirement to continuing being sponsored. But if you don’t know what the requirements for each are go to the executives thread. Notice the Sponsors thread at the top that I created a long time ago…its all in there. Plus for any new sponsors we are supposed to add them to my post along with any information needed for future people to contact them to continue sponsorship.

Ok, so I have read your responses, and as normal only 1 person actually read what I wrote (Thanks Dice). I never mentioned anyone wanting to remove any game, though to be honest that is what it sounded like Bitey wanted to do to 1.6, but I didn’t comment on it. I does not matter if it was a joke, the behavior even as a joke, could be miscontrued and could drive off potential students to WCU because it appears that the President has a blatant disregard for a popular WCU supported game. And MasterP, have you read the constitution? Yea, I didn’t think so.

See you guys at the LAN!:)

I don’t care about the games either way, but I do care about one thing. It is unbecoming of a president of a gaming club to start or even have a vocal biased opinion about this game or that game that the club supports. Let me make this clear, if we don’t support the game, say all you want about it, i.e. WOW. But, even if it is your preference, it is your responsibility to promote EVERY game supported by the WCU Gaming Club, wether you like the game or not, equally.

This also trickles down to the club executives. You guys are to support every game that the Club supports. For Example, If the club supports Guitar Hero, then all of the executives should be supporters of Guitar Hero. You guys are representatives of the Student Body and if they like a game, then you should represent their likes and dislikes.

Granted, I know just about the entire world is split on this one, but if you are supporting CS:1.6 and CS:S, then support both!

I’ll tell you what to do…

Dice is right, you have to take alot of pictures. I remimber back when we only had 32-man lans, I still took over 100 pics per lan. But It is your job to take pictures of the group, to take pictures of the prizes and the winners of the prizes. And you can’t play as much, because it is your job to capture the LAN on film, which you can’t do if your playing the whole night. I like to take pictures of everyone that is there and their machines, because most are very proud of the work they have put into them. Also, Take pictures of the tourneys especially between the top two in each Tourny because you can really see the tension and the excitment. Also take group pictures, it is good to get alot of overhead shots so you can see how vast the LAN really is. Just some ideas as well.

Bitey don’t forget to tap into all of your available resources. Don’t wait for people to make time. You make them make time for you. And don’t forget the two founders that really helped put this club together. I would say three but you won’t be able to get in touch with the third any better than we could when we lived in the same building as him. Merrill is really good at coding the servers. AdamBomb is good at everything else as well as that. Your alumni are here to help, you just need to ask. Besides I seriously doubt that anyone knows more about those boxes (and yes there are two) than AdamBomb. I don’t even think GXTI knew everything he should…but that is a different story. We are here to help.

It’s about time someone realized I keep this club running smoothly…:) Just kidding.

Tyler got you the table and the room that you used in Central for the first meeting, and btw I was in class…I typed the minutes for the meeting though didn’t I. But if you guys, Loot and Dice, want to be an Alumni, it helps to actually have left WCU technically by graduating, but seeing as Adam Merrill and Tyler both left school for jobs…we should leave them in the alumni sections.

Dice you are so funny…trying to pick on me.

But you’d think that being an executive or an ex-executive, one holding any positon within the gaming club would know the THREE founders..Geez. Adam Faulkner, Adam Merrill and Tyler Shryver (prob. misspelled Tylers last name) But still. Besides they all belong to the group Club Alumni. As far as I know only 4 of us belong to that group, and we were all there when this club started. It’s just so sad. And give it another semester or two and yea we could have an Alumni LAN, all the top people would have graduated anyway and the ones that know how to put on a LAN party would be there for sure.

BTW did anyone notice Adambomb’s new signature…notice the three founders in most of the pics. Esp. the middle two. The one on the left middle is Tyler, Adambomb, Adam and Adam Josey. The one on the right middle is AdamBomb, Adam, Keith Kelly, and Tyler. Just an FYI for those that don’t know the FOUNDERS and what they look like.

I.e…the last one was # 13, so this one would be #14. Meaning the club has held 13 previous meetings so this one is number 14. Here is the top of the last meeting minutes:

Yeah I’m not in favor of a Zombie mod…for those that know me know why.

    I have a few questions/comments…

    1) the constitutional amendments need work…can’t have someone called treasurer in one sentence then referred back to the old title in the next of vp of membership and finance then back to treasurer. The title was changed to Treasurer. Thus they need to be added as such:

    1. “It is the duty of the Treasurer to ensure a positive fiscal status and to encourage fundraising in designing events to further the finances of the Club. It is also the duty of the Treasurer to keep immaculate records of allocations of Club finances. It is the duty of the Treasurer to collect dues and LAN fees and to make such financial record available to the executive staff so as to ensure financial responsibility on behalf of the club.”

    2. “At the LAN event, the secretary must take attendance, and record the event in such ways to keep the history of the Club updated. It is also the duty of the Historian to make such visual history available and accessible to all members and alumni of the Club. In short, it is the job of every executive staff member and council leader to run and operate each LAN event. If he or she is unable to fulfill their duties, it is their duty to find a suitable replacement and to notify the executive staff of such replacement within 72 hours of the beginning of the LAN event.”

    2) Why is it necessary that Mitchell Pate show up as requested by Kuros, How is this relevant to anything?

    3) there is no Meeting # as in this is meeting number __.

    4) how does one get nominated by two top executives and not win the position? Just curious of course.

nah, we couldn’t change them.. they wouldn’t be the same. Though to be honest its just Dice that needs the help. But I think he does it on purpose. Though I’m glad I can’t edit anyone’s posts anymore, don’t have to go behind him and fix it like I used to when he was pres.

Much love to Lootool and Nodice, I miss you guys the most from WCU! You guys remember those late night informal Lans we had in my room…sleeping on the floor, chair, couch. Such fun….ah memories…:)

I just want to apologize to Ex. Urban was rude and wrong today. I commend you for your broad step today. I am sorry that he hasn’t changed.

But let’s not get confused about the issue. This is not about Urban, it’s not about being young and dumb. It’s about admins acting like admins and not abusing power. It’s about the club executives and admins being an example. It’s about bringing potential students to this club.

So MasterP, if you followed mine and adams ideals no one would be on the ban list huh? Interesting…someone doesn’t know what he is talking about. Adam and Adam worked really hard on coding the ban list, Adam even wrote the server rules. He made most of the Admins admins. He gave you all the tools you guys would need to be good admins…slap/slay/mute/gag/etc. geez. Oh and If I get personal, it is only when someone attacks Adam. Know that for future reference.

And Just to get one thing straight, Urban means nothing more to me than any other person on this website doesn’t. I am only maternal about this club, not its members. Sorry, but you weren’t there in the beginning, you don’t know its history and obviously don’t appreciate what this club has gone through just to be here, just to be able to be having this discussion right now. Don’t take it for granted. It wasn’t gotten easily. And its still a struggle to maintain, ask Kuros ask Dice, man you can even ask Josh. I am only trying to make the club stronger, by making its exec’s and admins more professional in their approach to handling the clubs’ tasks.

Urban didn’t come whining to me or Adam. He didn’t even want to talk about it. But I felt/feel that though he was in the wrong too, there were others that were just as wrong and they were not punished for their actions. To be honest the one thing that I really didn’t like about the thread was the language being used and the fact that it wasn’t filtered. You guys should be more grown up when you communicate. I’m just going to say it and drop it…but if some one does a search for a derogatory term, I don’t want us being the first to pop up on the search engine as we were in the past.

And I have never been an advocate for HACKING.

Yeah, I read that from the admin section, and experience leads me to believe that your not entirely accurate. Yes he is young, yes he is immature, but who can honestly say that they weren’t when they were his age. Who can honestly say that they still aren’t now? I don’t know too many people, my self included that still don’t act immature every once and a while.

How many people have left the WCU Gaming Club because of Urban? I honestly just don’t know. But someone doesn’t have to be young to be annoying.

From personal experience, there have been a few members of the gaming club that have made me irate. Made me say screw the gaming club, as I’m sure a few of you have heard me say. But the Gaming Club is bigger than just a few minor annoyances. It’s about bringing potential college students and college students and alumni together, its about bringing pc gamers and console gamers and any other gamer out there together. I know this to be true as I did have my hand in the constitution, and that is what Adam and I discussed when I was writing it.

There are always going to be an ‘Urban’ out there annoying you, whether it is Urban or not, there is always going to be that kid that just thinks he knows everything and likes to push your buttons. When are you guys going to say enough is enough and stop letting it bother you? As long as they know it bothers you, they’ll keep doing it. Urban used to pester and bash me, until I refused to let him get to me, and now is very polite and respectful.

Let’s think about Adam’s approach to things. How many of you can honestly say that you do not like Adam? I don’t know of any, (except ITS). Now Adam is a very laid back guy, and lets things roll of his shoulders. He has only gotten mad at one person/two people in this club since he founded it. (Not including ITS…that battle still rolls on unfortuatly) But they were major issues. He is the guy that walked into Housing and set up a meeting with the head guy down there and talked him into buying our very first box and banners/flyers and food and drink (which unless its changed they still do). That was in 2004-2005. Urban, I think used to try and mess with Adam but Adam always laughed about it and took his comments as a joke. Sometimes Urban contributed positively, sometimes not. But we can all say that applies to us as well.

I’m not saying you have to like Urban, I’m not saying you have to agree with my opinion. I am saying that it is time you gamers realize that there is always going to be that one annoying guy that makes you think twice about going into this server or that. But are you going to let him take the joy you get out of playing away? The gamers I know wouldn’t. They would just mute/slay/temp ban. And if I’m not mistaken everyone that has posted here in this thread, with the exception of me is a server admin. So use your admin abilities, without abusing them.
