ParticipantTrife you really are retarded, aren’t you? Each shot he shoots goes exactly where he’s shooting at, you can see the marks on the wall, dumpster, etc of where he shoots. The point is that the hitboxes in source are fine, when 1.*edited* players complain about them being *edited*ed up.

Participantlol physics… you said source physics engine still pwns 1.6
is that why i can still jump and shoot a 12guage and still move forward in the air?

1. Is this supposed to be a joke or serious?2. Some walls you cant shoot through
3. Have you ever heard of interp? to sum it up the hitboxes follow behind the player.
4. That nade radius is WRONG
5. And if it is a joke, LOLOLOLOL

^Is basically all what i was going to say. And i’m pretty sure that source nades do a stupidly larger amount of damage than 1.6.
And i think gameplay > physics when looking for a fun game that is going to keep you entertained more than a weekend. The stupid moveable objects in source just get in the way.
Source is just too easy.

ParticipantLol for a weekend, I have been entertained by source since day one of me playing it, and its probably been about 2 or 3 years now…

You can turn off most of the objects on the ground, most don’t do anything. The barrels, etc yea sure can get annoying and I can see that point.
Source is too easy though? Heh, every 1.*edited* player that has come into Source has left within 1-2 maps because they’ve done terrible. Put up or shut up, Source players have already proven that 1.*edited* is easy and way too broken to even bother with, with nades that blow up half of the map, walls that are foam, sounds you can hear from across the map, and hitboxes that are absolutely terrible.
September 16, 2007 at 7:12 am #26884tr1fe
Participanti would also say source is easier. i play source with 30fps max and still own.. getting a hs is too easy
September 16, 2007 at 11:07 am #26885Phonetically Phamous (dice
ParticipantI think everyone can agree that you can get a HS in CSS 10x easer than 1.6
wonder why
September 16, 2007 at 1:58 pm #26888Kuros
ParticipantTake a boot and hold it up to your head and look in the mirror. That looks pretty accurate to me.
September 16, 2007 at 3:26 pm #26893Fascist Flakes (Jagr)
ParticipantFunny thing is that these 1.*edited* nubs keep complaining about getting easy HS’s, etc in Source, but wouldn’t that make them keep coming back and continue playing? If they can kill people easier, wouldn’t that be more fun for them so they can show how “good” they are?
I said it once before and I’ll say it again: Every 1.*edited* player that has come into Source has done terrible and hasn’t proven *edited*. Step up to the plate or everything you say is nothing but bull*edited* because you do absolutely terrible in a game that has better hitboxes and actually requires you to aim.
Oh and Dice; I think your picture is a better representative to the hitboxes in 1.*edited*, you hit someone in the foot in Source and it registers as a foot, not the left arm or head like in 1.*edited*.

i’m not making things up, i prefure source over 1.6,,, just stating facts.
September 16, 2007 at 3:44 pm #26895Fascist Flakes (Jagr)
ParticipantHeh, spraying depends on recoil. If you spray and your recoil causes you to shoot up then of course you’re not going to just hit the feet. If you were spraying then shots could go anywhere, in theory.

Adam FaulknerParticipantSigh .. this has got to be the most worthless thread ever created on our forums. Honestly .. someone says source is better .. alot more say 1.6 is better .. Its not like your going to get either party to play the game. Why dont we all team up on WOW.. were all basicly playing the same game ..

ParticipantFinal three points. Easier headshots does not make for an easier game. Anyone believing that has not taken the time to think about what they are saying. If it’s easier headshots, everyone can do it, thus no one has an easier advantage over anyone else and we are all on the same playing field.
Now if you like at the stats you will see headshot perecentages are about the same for both games, why is this? Because of the differences in spray and shooting while running balance each other out. In source it is easier to shoot and run at the same time, usually the first bullet fired from the ak will be more accurate than it is in 1.6, same for most guns, that is until you hold down the button and spray, the spray pattern gets larger, faster than it does in 1.6. The pattern however is the *edited*ing same, a T for the m4, a 7 for the AK. In addition the larger and faster spray is not just to accomadate the larger player models in source, the varience is beyond the proportion there. The differences between the games balance out to produce much of the same results differently.
In response to nodice, yes if you shoot a foot you hit a foot, you spray at the feet with the right timing to compensate for the time it takes spray to get to its biggest point and then stabilize you will most likely get a head or cheast shot, doing that is part of controlling sprays and bursts. You spray at the head in source and I will kill you dead 95% of the time as your bullet will go straight over me, I believe you even will even hear them zip by and chip the walls behind you.
Trolling? I call this education.

ParticipantI don’t care about the games either way, but I do care about one thing. It is unbecoming of a president of a gaming club to start or even have a vocal biased opinion about this game or that game that the club supports. Let me make this clear, if we don’t support the game, say all you want about it, i.e. WOW. But, even if it is your preference, it is your responsibility to promote EVERY game supported by the WCU Gaming Club, wether you like the game or not, equally.
This also trickles down to the club executives. You guys are to support every game that the Club supports. For Example, If the club supports Guitar Hero, then all of the executives should be supporters of Guitar Hero. You guys are representatives of the Student Body and if they like a game, then you should represent their likes and dislikes.
Granted, I know just about the entire world is split on this one, but if you are supporting CS:1.6 and CS:S, then support both!

ParticipantI think this was more of a troll post in the first place, I couldn’t imagine doing away with the 1.6 server.
September 18, 2007 at 1:38 pm #27043Nickname
ParticipantWay to not understand a blatant joke. If he wanted 1.6 gone, he would vocally say that, but we UNANIMOUSLY decided to keep the 1.6 server at the last meeting.
He was jokingly pointing out some of the flaws in 1.6, but its not like he isn’t as vocal about source. If he honestly wanted people to hate 1.6, why did he switch gungame from source to 1.6 for the lan? Why does he play gungame fairly often? Just because he prefers source doesn’t mean he can’t joke about 1.6 having obvious flaws.

ParticipantI have no problems with the 1.6 server, the suggestion I had was if it stops bringing people in why keep it up? Someone responded cause it was the game that the club was founded on? Thats all fine and good but the past is the past we cannot keep clinging to it, if the server is no longer bringing people in then it should go and be replaced by something new, but until that point it stays and I would even fight for it to stay.

1.6 is ranked 34th in the NATION Great exposure to our club and get people come to western, how can anyone argue that?

ParticipantDropping 1.6 would be crazy. I just made this post in jest. I think everyone knows my opinion on 1.6 vs source. And I’m allowed to voice my opinion whenever I want. I said nothing detrimental to the gaming club.
Besides, you can’t argue with in game screen shots.
September 18, 2007 at 10:33 pm #27070Nickname
ParticipantI’m not sure how the club has turned 100.1% toward source only… last time I checked, all our servers and lan games are chosen by POPULAR VOTE.
September 19, 2007 at 12:05 am #27074Bitey
ParticipantI don’t get what your saying Dice, my post was practically pro 1.6, if it stays full it stays, thats my opinion, I say the same about source, if source were to ever empty out and people were to stop playing it, like for example this might happen for a while when TF2 comes out. When things level back out if the source server were to stay empty I would push for it to be removed and replaced by something. I am basically saying what in my post did you have a problem with?
