Ok, I know Tallgeese and I have been playing this game almost religiously since we’ve gotten it. Just curious to see who else has it. This is a LAN tournament game, so getting practice in will be important. Plus we’ll be figuring out the settings for this game soon. If you have it on 360, I know both of us will gladly play any time.
I think it’s really good and a solid balanced fighter. Granted, I think every character has some sort of cheap move. But, not anything that makes the game broken. It requires accurate timing and appropriate distance to be overly cheap with anyone. The characters easily balance each other. Even though I think they’re a bit heavy on the Ryu/Ken move set or style (6 total). However, I think there is enough variation between them to have them not overly identical.
Anyways, I’m open to suggestions on the upcoming LAN tournament rules. I’m thinking best of 3 rounds, best of 3 matches up until the semis. Semis would be best of 3 rounds, best of 5 matches. As far as specifics on character selection and stage selection.. not sure if that makes much of a difference or not, but I’m willing to take input and opinion from anyone who has played the game.
I just got done playn the game for about a good 4 1/2 and I gotta say WOW, I LOVE THIS GAME! As far as characters go, Id definitely say everyone should be allowed except Seth, he’s rape
Ken is definitely winrar.. but I’m definitely digging Abel. And it’s A-BELL. Not A-Bul! Stupid announcer.
Just in case you guys still want to do the multiplatform thing, I know at least 2 people who could bring Street Fighter IV for the PS3. At the next saturday mini-LAN, I want to get some more practice in for the PS3 version of this game as well as the 360 version. I know this is probably a dumb question but do any of you 360 Street Fighter IV owners use the DPad?
I played Street Fighter 4 the other night for about six hours. It was a lot of fun and easy to get into. I found myself picking it up quickly, even though I still haven’t figured out how the Super/Ultra moves works. It also happens to be beautiful. Capcom really pulled out all the stops for this one.

Mike, I don’t know your plans for break, but I plan on being here the entire thing. So if anyone is on or around campus during Spring Break wants to play some SF or anything else I got, they’re more than welcome to come over.
I would if I was stayn but I got a project I have to do back home, so I gotta go back. Ill definitly play u when I get back though o’malley.
As a reference, Gamebattles has banned Seth and with options to ban Akuma and Gouken. Dunno why they would allow options for the latter two. Oh well. I’ll probably start competing on there eventually as well.
His ultra is so easy to dodge and knock him out of though. You can’t just sit there and block it. Granted.. everybody’s ultra combos are like that. Easy to dodge/block unless they’re good about comboing into it or hitting the right opportunity everytime.
yea, buffering moves makes things like Akuma’s Ultra easier to hit but it is still possible to avoid.
