I have been saying it forever; we need gym-class style team picking. That way people can be on teams with friends and overall the teams would be mostly balanced. Sorry if you get picked last, but if you do, you probably already know you are terrible.
I have no objection to helping out those in need. My problem is there are a lot of lazy people out there and amazingly more/better welfare programs usually means more people trying to leech money off the government. Susan has been working over at a doctor’s office in Cashiers and said its ridiculous how many people try to draw disability when they aren’t even trying to do anything to get better. She said of the dozens of people she has seen, only 2 or 3 actually deserve the money they are getting.
I don’t want to take away anything from anybody that actually NEEDS the government to step in and help them out, but at the same time those people that just want freebies (aka leechers) ruin it for everybody. And yes, I take offense to being called greedy for not wanting to give my money away to leechers.
Also, I plan to have 1 house, probably 2 cars, and whatever amenities I can afford, plus I would actually like to have money for retirement (I don’t think social security counts but that is for another discussion). And I will give money to a charity that I actually support.
Ok team I need an opinion… do I buy this game? (Oblivion is one of my favorite games ever) or do I buy Left 4 Dead? (I love co-op games)
once this game is released we def need to play it in the lan setting; even if its not competitive but co-op, it would still be nice to be able to play 4 player co-op with a bunch of friends.
Should I go ahead and pre-order this game? I think I will next Friday when I get paid….

we have 8 second respawn; 100x better than the default 20 second and I dont think it should go any lower.

rydell just chill out even if he (kappa) is *edited*ing you off you can ignore him. besides, we need all the players we can get!

If that system is used, we need at least 4 maps. ctf_2fort, ctf_turbine, ctf_mach4, and ctf_well are the best and they are tried and true in our tournament setting.

If you are stuck on a bad team, you get to play 2 rounds: warmup and round one, that is how it has been for the past 2 years. Rydell’s system means everyone gets to play at least 3 rounds. Who loses there?

also if we do it that way, we will need another map since we will have an extra round. I suggest we use ctf_turbine, ctf_2fort, ctf_mach4, ctf_well (not necessarily in that order)
This scenario eliminates the warmup round BUT even if your team loses the first round, you still have a chance to make it into the final so not all is lost.
Actually I just noticed what I had posted is essentially the same as the “round robin” thing except its like a race to get 2 victories. The first 2 teams to get to wins get to advance to the final.
Let’s wait and see how many people are there on Saturday. We already have 16 people signed up; if we can get enough there to have 6 teams then we will have to do something different anyways.
I see kappa’s points but I think Rydell’s reasoning for changing things up a little is to give people more play time. If you are on a bad team, you get to play 1 20 minute round right now and thats it; with rydell you get to play at least 2 rounds even if you suck horribly. Besides, rydell’s plan incorporates 4 rounds instead of 3 which isnt exactly a huge difference in time espececially since we do have the extra time to play with, so why not give it a shot? or something like this where there can be no tie
