I’m sorry but a lot of games are just better on console, like 3rd person games. Batman, assassins creed, and oblivion in 3rd person I always feel hindered using mouse n keyboard.
I don’t think one is better than another. I feel each game type can have one that is best. Rts on a controller is just as lol as prince of persia on a keyboard.
just FYI, oblivion is better in first person.

Participanti can make some time for it like last week if you dont mind terrible ppl playing

Participantmake it so pc gamers can join xbox games iff they have a 360 controller plugged in and are using it to play the game. yeah kinda lame but then at least if you have GOW for PC you could play with xbox people without actually owning an xbox.
I mean seems like a simple enough solution to me anyways. I’m sure there is some way microsoft can code to only allow XBL gameplay on PC if a 360 controller is present.

methinks i see the problem…
try connecting the xbox directly to the modem and see if everything works or not
Nickname
Participantwell yeah you are going to be more precise and be able to move faster if you have a kb/mouse instead of a controller, no matter how good you are with the controller, it still is no contest.
that doesn’t mean that PC gamers are better at their games, just that the same game is going to be easier to control on a PC.

Instead of the WNBA All-Star Game, let’s say they held a six-team, three-day tournament featuring the 2010 McDonald’s High School All-Americans, a team of retired NBA players, the reigning Division 3 men’s hoops champs, the Harlem Globetrotters, a team of celebrities and famous athletes (Terrell Owens, Floyd Mayweather, Michael Rapaport, etc.), and the 2010 WNBA All-Stars. First of all, would you watch? (Yes. Of course you would. I would, too.) Second, would it be the biggest moment in WNBA history if its All-Star team won this tournament? (Yes. Indisputably.) Third, if that team got waxed in such a tournament, would anyone hold it against the league? (No way.) Fourth, after 14 seasons and little traction, what does the WNBA have to lose? We’re at the “running out of poker chips and starting to make overly aggressive wagers” stage of this WNBA experience. Time to go all-in with a pair of eights.

Participantok i guess more fair would be that they lost nearly 42% of their users… which is still terrible.
And yes RIM has been free falling of late. They have really fallen behind in the consumer market but remain relevant cause businesses want them (though some businesses are actually switching to phones like the Droid or even the iphone). Windows mobile is hanging on because it used to be the leader and some apps that businesses need only work on WM, such as at my work where we have a PDA app for our Homecare software. It only works on windows mobile 5 or 6. I have to break it to people almost daily that they cant install it on their iphone or droid…

well all i have to say is if windows mobile is so great why did it see a 33% DROP in market share the past year?
By 33% you mean 5% right? In April 2009 they had 12% marketshare as opposed to the 7% they have now…
actually that is even worse, because a drop from 12% to 7% is a 41.7% drop in marketshare. you have taken math classes right?

I’m pretty sure Verizon makes sure their phones aren’t capable of using sim cards. I’ve been with verizon since I was a teen & every phone wasn’t capable of using the card.
Storm, Storm 2, Tour, Bold all have slots. I know this because my friends have these and they all have a SIM card.
But did they get them through Verizon?
yes verizon’s website even says this

I guess I really am going to go for the blackberry. Good thing they got RD apps. Just to double check- how’s dealing with email? I hope they all can be used globally
No not every black berry can be used globally. Ask what ones before you buy. I know the tour does but thats all I can attest to. Dealing with e mails on my black berry is very very simple and I usually dont even check them from a pc anymore unless I have to open up something big or send a file out. As far as the fun factor of it well….its non existant but hey black berrys were first made for the business man so yeah what do you expect.
Any blackberry can be used int’lly. Right now you can ask Verizon to unlock it for free, but in the next few months that will change and they will charge per unlocking. Just say you are going to England and you want that Janx unlocked.
Also attachment wise its pretty good. I view PDFs and Docs all the time whenever they are sent to me. It just takes about 5 seconds to download then you can view/save/whatever.
thats a lie, some simply do not have intl capabilities. for example, the bold can be used internationally but the curve 2 cannot as it does not have a sim slot or support international networks.

nevermind just did an IM convo with masterp and clearly he does not know the point of a smartphone.
Nickname is just upset that Windows Mobile has almost the same marketshare as Android and has apps he criticised it for not having.
If OS age, features, compatibility, interface, vulnerability, and general usefulness really matter to the average consumer Windows XP wouldn’t still have 63% marketshare. It’s all about perception, pricing, and advertising.

If I built a new computer I could still put Windows 2000 on it. Just because you’ve got an old OS doesn’t mean you can’t put it on new equipment.
yes, but why the hell would you want to?
Think of it this way then. If they had never released Vista and you had that long period in between XP and 7, would you have used XP or switched to Mac or Linux?
well since you want to use that comparison, you would also have to realize that when windows 7 did come out, none of my current programs would work on it at all (no backwards compatibility), and that by now windows xp would have had about a .5% market share, i.e. nobody would still make apps for it. given that scenario, yes I would switch because windows would no longer be in charge of the market or support features I want and use. Plus windows hardware would be terrible.

Participantjust want to point out (again) that windows mobile 6.5 is ancient and windows phone 7 is not yet released. Thus, you would not be buying a new phone with a windows OS. Android, iOS, webOS, even BBOS are all better options. When windows phone 7 comes out that may change, we will see.

I googled for a while and everything I saw pointed back to something on the android market. Screenshot or it didn’t happen. <_>
You don’t have to have a central marketplace to have a device that’s useful and productive. How many years did you get by just fine without Steam and itunes?
you can load using this: http://forum.androidcentral.com/showthread.php?p=236589#post236589
also just because I didnt need steam and itunes back in 2002 doesn’t mean it is the way to do things in 2010. It’s pretty much inexcusable that you need a PC to load an app on a windows mobile phone. Got a mac? well then dont bother with a windows mobile phone.

It still multitasks programs but will only do so on programs Microsoft has determined aren’t detrimental to be left running in the background. This is a serious problem with some 3rd party apps that are big memory hogs and don’t always exit when you close the window. Adobe is a big memory hog last I looked.
you can only multitask using 1st party apps. that means no streaming pandora in the background or saving your spot in your twitter app etc. like I said even apple is allowing this now. apple being more open than MS is just sad.

windows mobile is not in the game right now. windows phone 7 will be coming out in a couple of months and its supposed to be pretty good (we will see); windows mobile 6.5 is garbage and irrelevant.
oh and idk about how good battery life is from htc but all smartphones have pretty *edited*ty battery life.
To my knowledge, Windows Mobile was the first phone OS that let you install any app you wanted without having to go through a central store or a carrier’s app service. Even with the Android, you still have to use their market service to get even the free applications.
You can’t tell me that being able to simply download any app, from any source, and install it without a nanny carrier service or app marketplace as a gatekeeper is a bad thing. It’s still the only TRUE freedom-oriented OS in the phone market, and that’s pretty bad coming from Microsoft and all.
um you can sideload android apps. plus the online marketplace has tons of free apps. windows mobile doesnt even have a marketplace…
and there is a reason that no new windows mobile phones have come out for the past 16 months. I mean it was good back when it was new and relevant but the current version out (6.5) is soooooooo far behind every other OS out there and 7.0 is a completely new monster, where you lose that ability to sideload apps that you were talking about, and also it lacks multitasking which even apple does now. Sorry but MS has some serious work to do in order to get back in the smartphone market.
