Joining the forums in no way legally binds you to anything other than the rules that are clearly stated. Breaking those is only punishable by a ban. There’s nothing he can do here that would in any way cause physical or monetary damage. Pyschological damage on the other hand is pretty much assured.
You might want to explain to him that this is part of the job. His goal is to help build this community and the community can most readily communicate via this online discussion board.

I know you’ve only been here for about 5 months but trust me when I say it’ll be abused. Those that had the power on our various other servers have abused it quite a bit. If I were to get rid of all the admins I don’t trust 100% we’d be down to like 4. I trust them to do their job but at the same time I’m realistic about abuse because every admin abuses, some just do it more than others.
Regardless of what you may think, I do know what I’m talking about.

We used to play Quake3 at the LANs and I still have the quick-deploy for it on the server. Nice little tournament but like UT2004 the same 2-3 people win EVERY time.

Dell was going to give us 10 gaming laptops but the campus rep either lied about the whole thing or didn’t care to follow up about the laptops that “were ordered a month ago but haven’t shipped yet”. Dell (which owns alienware) pretty much fell completely through and left us with our pants down and I’m not sure the club needs to go that route again.
With the economy being the way it is it’s highly doubtful we’ll get any sort of sponsorship like that but once things pick back up I imagine it’s very doable. Again, I wouldn’t go the Dell route. We do have a campus agreement with HP so we might try them next.
There are quite a few floating around campus. Most of those with them are people you wouldn’t think would have one… like Nickname.
I would get one if the battery lasted longer while playing games. It almost reminds me of the Sega Game Gear. Much better than the Nintendo handheld and much more flexible doing things other than gaming but not really cost effective or as long-lasting (playtime wise) as the pure gaming alternative.

It may come back but not until we get a new server. The resources are needed to keep what we have in place.

Anyone up for banning Meta Knight?Banning characters is a slippery slope to go down. Once you ban meta knight you have to ban ROB and Jigglypuff. From there it gets easier and easier to ban characters that seem “unbalanced” or “overpowered”.
I personally hate items while dueling, they introduce the chance of a “lucky win” and healing items can turn a close game into a landslide. Everyone else seems to not mind so meh.
