    Yes you were.

His reason for not giving your powers back was just as compelling as your reason for wanting them back.

I didn’t leave this club. I’m just helping start a new club.

Has your new “club” recruited members from this club? If the answer is yes, and it is, then you not only have a conflict of interest but you’ve demonstrated that you’re sacrificing our success to springboard your own success. Leeching off us to build your own club is about as big a slap in the face you can give short of actually getting us shut down.

If your goal is to tread the line between the two that’s great, prove you can do so without bias.

Hell Liam even said if you PM him a compelling reason he’d even restore your access until the execs have decided what to do. That’s about as nice as he’s ever been to someone in your position.

Don’t worry about it. It’s nothing serious.

Some people got upset that Kazka was impeached by a 75% supermajority and are trying to get as many to leave as they can. When they get bored they troll to find out why their powers were taken after they quit and tried to form a competing club on campus.

Every spring an exec quits and tries to hurt the club on their way out, this is just this year’s occurance of it. It’s really nothing new. Typically they rejoin and everything turns out peachy, hopefully it does this time as well.

Btw Liquid, the execs are discussing how they want to handle you guys at a constitution meeting tomorrow. You very well may get all your access back but at this point it’s back to like I said earlier:

You wanting to be an exec in the new club is a horrid analogy for me wanting my powers over here back.

The analogy is directly related. You wouldn’t give me powers on your site if you knew my main focus was promoting this club so why should we do the same with you?

    FTE Lieutenant Dan said:

I didn’t recieve any notification of my demotion nor have I heard ANY reason why I was demoted.

I’m sure it’ll be posted soon. As for the reason, don’t be obtuse, you know why.

    FTE Lieutenant Dan said:

There is nothing in the constitution of either club that says I can’t hold a position in both.

Oddly enough, that’s true. We’ve never had to deal with a group of people quitting and taking as many members as they could with them and then expecting to still be an exec here…

    FTE Lieutenant Dan said:

I would understand my demotion if my sole reason for being here was promoting the other club like you said, but I haven’t done anything promoting the other club (NINJA EDIT: on this forum).

As I understand, Felix is in the exact same situation as myself, so reinstate his powers as well.

The club exists outside this forum and you just admitted to promoting the other club IRL. Felix has too. You have stated in the past that the club as it exists IRL on campus is more important than how it exists on the forums so why should we treat the slap in the face as if it were given on the less tender cheek?

You seemed pretty on-the-ball when it comes to power changes, after all, Kaz’s power was cut less than an hour after the meeting.

Why would we need spies? We’re still members of this club.

After the last ragequit exec we prefer to not take any chances. It took about a month to get back what was deleted and even longer for the PC side’s numbers to recover. You wouldn’t know about that though because you weren’t a member last year (literally every member knew about it) and I’m sure Kazka conveniently left that part of our history out while QQ’ing about losing forum access.

If you still want to be a part of this club GREAT! I mean we really don’t want to alienate anyone and will continue to operate in the same direction that we have been for the last 3 years. If you’re a member here solely to recruit members for your other club, THAT we have a problem with. I mean you are an exec in their club after all… and so is our new console VP…

If I joined your group and wanted to be an exec, would you let me? No. Would you question my motives? Yes. Same logic applies to you guys. We don’t know if you’re here to help or hurt and with everything that’s been said the last few days can you really blame us?

Anyone that actually gives a *edited* about gaming and is fed up with this so called “gaming club”, shoot me a message.

Wrong. We lost people who’s loyalty was to you and Josh. We want people to be loyal to the GAMING CLUB, not to any set of executives.

At the meeting we specifically said we wanted you still be an exec because you would make the perfect console VP. You used the defense that you didn’t have the time to do something, well you do for playing games and hanging out in the commuter lounge which is mostly what we wanted in a VP. Every single person that voted to impeach you would have voted for you as a VP. Idk if that changes anything with anyone else but it obviously didn’t with you, you were told that before the exec meeting was over.

    What position was Alex?

He’s the new implanted spy for their club, aka console VP. He is to join the ranks of the others who don’t care about this club, want this club to fail, and won’t show up to our LAN to do their job but still expect to be treated like execs until the very day they screw us. It’s like the CIA catching a senator selling defense secrets to terrorists and the senator expecting to keep the security clearances until the day the terrorists attack.

I had to go ask a commuter lounge who he was and what his forums account was because as is typical they never make it apparent who they are or ask for powers when they’re needed. They always assume that people who have no clue who they are will magically know who they are when they’re elected and then blame everyone else when reality takes place.

Nothing against you Jason but Im pretty sure this isnt a mistake. My admin privliges were revoked not even an hour after the meeting. Hell from what Ive heard, Freezer was on the phone telling somebody to go ahead and kill my privledges as soon as the meeting ended. Honestly I dont give two *edited*s though. I’ve got bigger plans.

Your powers were revoked to prevent you raging. If you can’t understand that then you truely know nothing about the history of this club or how Josh operates when his puppets lose power.

You didn’t hear Mike talking to someone to disable your access, because it was me that made that phone call. You simply heard Mike talking and assumed that’s what it was. In reality that was me telling him that my vote was for you as a console VP. When Mike called to say you weren’t running for VP is when your powers were cut, because we knew you no longer wished to be apart of this club.

Wow, and the shady become shadier. What a surprise……

Talk about shady, you were in the process of founding another gaming club while still the president of this one. You twist the truth and say anything you can to steal as many of our execs and members as you can and even discuss ways to steal our money. You have zero right to take the high ground on anything.

Yes, the server admins directly held accountable for maintaining the brand new $5000 server are too scared to load an early alpha, java based game. We’ll just ignore that its own developers state that it’s unstable. Running java server applets with admin elevation is dangerious enough as it is and you want to take it even deeper? Yeah, we’re total *edited*.

Protip: when you run it on your POS windows xp machine it’s not running as a system service. It’s running as a standard application in the user space of the operating sysstem. How you’re running it and how we would have to run it are completely different. Resources are managed differently, permissions are managed differently, network access is managed differently, not to mention program stability is completely different. Any crash or instability would bleed over and affect the entire OS whereas on your laptop it would just slow the game down.

Not to mention java doesn’t work out of the box on Windows Server 08 x64. You have to do a *edited* ton of work to make it work and even if we did that it’s unlikely we could even get a Java applet to run as a system service because the individual applets have to be run by the main Java runtime like a media player loading a movie, something that to my knowledge isn’t possible as a system service on server08, at least not without some serious modifications. On the old server it’d be easy, server03 didn’t really care what you did behind the scenes.

So yeah before you hop up on your high horse and parade yourself about as some sort of server admin or guru get a *edited*ing clue and learn why and how *edited* works. I recommend starting with a server book because you obviously need to learn the basics.

EDIT: Here, I found you some reading material. Once you’re done, come back and talk about how to run servers.

    http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/Book.aspx?ID=11759&locale=en-us

For all the non-pompous people who were discussing this in a civil and polite manner:

Once the IP transfer is made we’ll toss a VM on and get at least one server for this game going. Do they have a recommended OS for hosting this?

Why would his case need premade holes? Better yet, why would you need to even pipe it outside his case?

You, sir, are doing it wrong.

For half the price (or less) of one of those systems that mounts outside the case you can get an internally mounted pump/reservoir and swap a pair of 90/120mm casefans for coolant heatsinks. They’re cheaper, easier to install, easier to manage, easier to transport the computer with it installed, and lightyears quieter. Not to mention internal-only systems are less likely to leak and when they do leak the coolant simply pools in the bottom of the case or drains through holes you drilled instead of leaking in through the top and soaking every part you’ve got in the computer.

I’m not setting up a alpha-release quality java-based server to run as a system service. That’s like asking for things to go wrong.

Freezer can do this if he wants but I wouldn’t feel comfortable touching that until it hits at least beta-quality. It may be perfectly fine on your machine but on server08 with 30+ other game servers going we can’t really predict what it’ll do.

We’re looking into setting up a set of VM servers on the box to help isolate problem servers that crash alot. If we get this going we could definately host this game on one of those. Not against this, just don’t think it’s a great idea at this moment.

On the whole their pipes are fast but once they get split down to that many dorms it loses most of its luster. Toss in the fact that NCSU doesn’t prosecute or care about peer to peer downloading and your pipes slow down to the speed of snail.

If you have a problem with being banned, open a ban appeal thread.

Protip: don’t mention you’re top dog, super, badass, totally elite, noobslayer in X number of leagues. Your appeal will instantly be relegated to a toilet role for immediate use because we don’t give two *edited*s how well you behave in league matches. I have personally caught, turned in, and watched as blatant cheaters went free in one of the leagues you bragged about above so that whole argument is moot here.

That is unless of course you pushed it because of a fire, then you’re a hero.

To push it you had to break the glass around it and there were no glass breaking objects in the room. So to push it you get bloody knuckles.
