French-Canadians speak better English than some Americans. Accent is also very easy to understand.

did anyone save the source tv demos? and are they small enoulf to be attached?

If they can’t be attached to the forums I imagine they can be put on the webserver for public download. If not either of those I will put them on my rented webspace.

Poked around and found this. It is 600w with quad 18A rails. It has both 4pin and 8pin AUX connectors.

After testing my own working 8800GTX and having the same problem I went into Task Manager and disabled the bottom two cores for hl.exe under the process list. When I ran CS:Source the game ran smoothly.

His power supply is 500W but it lacks an 8pin connector to connect to the motherboard cpu power connector. All his power supply has is a 4 pin connector.

Could not having the 8 pin connector be the problem? If so, which is a good solution, buying a new PSU or getting a 4pin to 8pin converter?

I’d be happy to look at it during the LAN.

The 8pin aux is a dedicated voltage feed for the processor, to be perfectly honest, I’m surprised it boots into Windows at all without it. This is most likely the problem as the processor is only getting a fraction of the power it needs.

I’ve not seen a 4-8pin converter but with all the rigging going on today it wouldn’t surprise me if you found one on ebay. I would recommend that you spend a good $100 on a high efficiency, cable management power supply. By the time you spend a good chunk of change on a computer you might as well get a good power supply for it as it is just as important as any other part in there.

Ultra is suing every company that makes cable management power supplies and having invented it they have a chance (small) at winning so I would recommend getting one now from a good manufacturer because Mike can tell you Ultra’s own supplies suck.

Yeah I have pretty much decided that beta service packs from MS never work out.

I do believe it specifically states NOT to put beta updates on production machines.

i haven’t looked at that, all i know is that both before and after vista doesn’t agree with something about backups…

once a week, i turn it on, boot into vista, plug in my backup drive (usb), go to the backup thing, do the full backup, try the safely remove (never works), turn computer completely off, unplug usb hdd, power computer back on, and all of a sudden it won’t make it through bios if the monitor is plugged in. really random. one time it even somehow overrode the hardswitch on my power supply. I had to pull the cord itself before I could kill my computer. it scares me. i don’t liek it. it might be hardware almost failing, might not. doesn’t happen if i don’t do this whole backup routine step by step. to get it to boot again i have to pull every connection on the back, let it sit a few minutes, and plug it all back in. then XP works just liek always.

Does your computer ever work right?

Time is set for EST but the early DST screwed it up to where it gives CST times until you correct for it manually. You can do this in your user settings.

Once agian. Who says your not the last one alive with 5 other people? If im not correct the only way you can see people on the radar is you move your crosshair directly over them in which their position is pinged onto the map. While scoped and fixed on one position its sort of hard to look at your radar, even though i still glance back in forth.

How does being the last one on the team have anything to do with quickswitching? If you’re zoomed in and they sneak up on you it won’t matter anyway. Being able to quickswitch to a deagle won’t make the AK shot in the head or the knife in the back any less of a 1-hit kill.

Same with lemm, only occasionally do i actually quickswitch to reload faster, but more so to keep track on my surroundings. Its alot easier to quickswitch than scope twice and then be forced to scope agian when you want to shoot, and who knows while your scoped some guy might just decide to come from your left and blow your face up.

The only game I’ve ever played where quickswitching significantly reduced reload time was Halo 1, reducing reload time by 30% on most guns.

As for the “guy sneaking up on you” stuff, you have a radar now. Use it. As retarded as the radar is, paying attention to it will keep you alive longer.

you know why else mac is stupid cause it thinks all windows partitions should be FAT32 cause it’s “more efficient for data transfers”

It puts them like that so when they get hacked or obtain malware people will switch back to OSX. Without NTFS Win2k/XP/Vista is retardedly easy to screw up.

quickswitching has been out for forever and is an important skill when awping or scouting and would really mess up anyone who is used to doing it.. which is EVERYONE.. you can’t be good at awping or scouting without it.. it is an inherit part of the game..

I beg to differ as I’m good at both AWP and scout and don’t do the *edited* switch after shooting. I’ve never seen the point in it.

Oddly enough the autoshotgun is fool proof in putting bunnyhoppers in their place. They can’t lag out of the shot if it’s every *edited* where around them.

i kno i couldn’t get my crosshairs on the dude.

Even if you had lined up a perfect AWP shot while crouched it wouldn’t matter. The server doesn’t know how to handle bunnyhoppers and if you’ll spectate them (the ones that don’t care obviously) you’ll notice that they can be completely surrounded by enemies and only a tiny fraction of the bullets shot at them find their mark. If they would take damage like everyone else I wouldn’t have a problem with it but since you can’t hit them (even if you DO hit them) I can’t and won’t support it.

You can set up the server to right at prevent bunnyhopping by playing with certain settings but they typically have undesired consequences such as not being able to get to certain “boost” or “jump/crouch” areas of maps.

The patched version of Hellgate London is actually a blast to play with friends. I hate it during Beta/Release but now I find myself always playing it. Getting with a group of friends for the night and just clearing dungeons by killing thousands of creatures, zombies, and weird demons is awesome fun. The game is very quick paced and really feels like a 3D diablo. Obviously it is different but everything from the loot system (Running the same bosses for their ‘unique loot’) to the crazy monster stats and abilities is very familiar. The skill system and stat system are also very akin to Diablo. I recommend it (after its latest patch) to any wishing to spend $30 for a little fun. My names in the game are Kappamerc, Kaziron, and Kazaron.

I will have to add you. Ever since they fixed DX10 I’ve been playing whenever I get a chance. It’s extremely similar to Diablo, having all the aspects that made it great and none of the annoyances that got in the way of boss runs.

Btw, their new system for reporting advert spammers and bots actually works very well. It’s the best system I’ve seen so far and they seem to ban their accounts within a day or so.

I loved that 2nd one as well especially about the AWP; MasterP should chime in on this topic.

The narrator is spot on in every description he gives. I did lol at the “to kill someone you now actually need to point it in their general direction rather than the general direction of the continent their standing on”. That is so true about 1.6 and Source.

My new favorite quote: “The AWP inflicts the same level of damage as an anti-tank missile covered in anthrax and gasoline.”

but people can only get better in an enviroment with people who are better than THEY are.

That logic doesn’t work when discussing exploits. People can’t just learn to exploit no more than they can learn to program game hacks on their own. That’s how it’s SUPPOSED to be. If you want to get better join a server of cheaters and DON’T learn to cheat. Joining a server of cheaters just to learn how to cheat is retarded.

maybe it’s an unexpected error in the game’s ff system… it wouldn’t be the first unexpected errors with the game ^_^

That or an obscure line of code in the admin mod. In 3 years of using mani I don’t think this has happened a single time on TAG’s servers and I don’t remember it ever happening when we had mani.

If nothing else we can fix the stat-tracker from penalizing for the team balancer.

Only reason I can think of is the grenade switches with you but that still shouldn’t show up as a TK, as Liam pointed out.

Did it subtract kills from your score or just deduct points in your stats?
