Windows 95 but by then it was up to version b (I think that is when USB support began), and it had improved immeasurably.I couldn’t remember what the official title for it was. +1 internets for you good sir!
As to updates, if you leave it alone it WILL install all by itself. A few weeks ago I had a couple updates that wouldn’t install and then magically they did it on their own one night during a shutdown. Just leave it be, MS will fix it.
Dice, your media center is probably disabled or you have a proprietary program pre-installed with the computer that is conflicting with it. WMP11 comes with Vista. Notepad is a VERY frequent target for viruses and malware programs, try googleing a replacement .exe for it.

they are ALL easy to understand, well the engineering ones are. The chinese math professors are just ridiculous.Dr. Zhang fits under the favorable category.
I was referring to Dr. Wang in the math dept. who teaches surprisingly well but it takes a few weeks to understand him.

ParticipantI’ve used every OS I listed, some more than others but all enough to judge accordingly. And no, I’m not that old. Idk how old I was for Win95/Win98 but it wasn’t more than 10. Old enough to know what crashed my games.
Some of us, however, were born that *edited* good. This includes Nickname but not Kuros who, in fact, is NOT a better RCC than Kip any day of the week.

I also had an intern last summer with DE. i supplied you nukes with your H20 =)And we do appreciate that. It does help prevent bad PR.
Small classes and the near-brand new labs is what got it for me. State’s undergrad labs were very old and UNCC had too many foreign professors that you couldn’t understand. WCU has its fair share of foreigners but they are ALL easy to understand, well the engineering ones are. The chinese math professors are just ridiculous.

Do I have to map it out for you?I will just start with Windows 98, fail.
Windows 2000, fail.
Windows ME, HUGE FAIL.
Windows XP, meh I will give it a half-fail.
Windows Vista, EPIC FAIL.
“I am Sun Drop Man!”
Let me amend that with what REALLY happened:
DOS 5+ = epic win
Windows 3.1 = win
Windows 95 = partial win
Windows 95 w/ USB = win
Windows 98 = fail
Windows 98 SE = win
Windows 2000 Pro SPx = win
Windows ME = partial fail (introduced many XP features we love) (I never had crash issues with it)
Windows XP = fail
Windows XP SP1 = near fail
Windows XP SP2/SP3 = full of win
Windows Vista = near win
Windows Vista SP1 = epic win

ParticipantI asked liam to set up voting on CSS like a month ago. Not sure why it hasn’t happened yet. I’ll remind him.
The map changing policy that I have requested is listed below.
MasterP said:
For CSS:Please enable a PLAYER initiated RTV requiring 60% to say “rtv” or “votemap” to start a random map vote. Also display a message after each player says rtv/votemap telling #wanting/#required to change the map.
Please enable admins to start a votemap. Do NOT give them full mapchanging access, if they want to change the map they have to go where the players want.

ParticipantIs the echoing bad enough to warrant removing the map from the rotation?
I’m not getting involved in the discussion part because the last time I asked this question I got *edited*ed at by half and supported by half so this time discuss it amoungst youselves. I’ll go with whatever the consensus ends up being.
I do NOT want to manually edit the map unless it comes to that.

then i would say you are getting jipped. MIT looks elevendy times better than WCU on any diploma. if its the same all classes would transfer, i’d look into going there my last semester if i was in your situation. The Dr. Dunlap himself was head of WCU’s ET program (think EE also) and he started their ET program at Perdue. I was a fraction of a second from going their my last semester.Given time WCU’s EE program will be considered good as well. The rising senior class has interns at places like Duke Energy and Tyco. I’ll admit that those from UNCC and NCSU are getting better intern positions but when I say I’m from WCU most supervisors at Duke didn’t even know we had an EE program. Once WCU gets grads out in the workforce we’ll start catching employers’ eyes, because an engineering degree is pretty much the same where ever you go. You’re still not going to know much of what you’re hired to do.
Btw, yes I did consider transfering but felt it wasn’t worth it considering I turned down both UNCC and NC State to go to Western. I’ve attended several counterpart classes at UNCC and found their lectures to be far less personal and much less informative. The fewer people there are in class, the better the education as professors can tailor their lectures to the class better.

ParticipantI don’t remember CSS having a fun night but I’m game for one when classes start back up.

Wait that’s the date? I thought it was in September? You do realize 9-27-08 is in September, right?
MasterP
ParticipantYou could always settle for a cheaper, yet far superior console…
MasterP
ParticipantWant MIT classes? Try WCU’s EE program. Our curriculum and lectures are based off MIT, Perdue, and UNCC.

ParticipantThat math works out.
The key is how much faith you have in getting an LCD with no dead pixels or manufacturing defects (not the same thing apparently, idk why). I have yet to see or hear of Samsung’s having dead pixels and out of 3 Viewsonics I’ve had 1 dead pixel (top right where the red X is anyway) and 2 lazy pixels. Read reviews and see the failure rate before you buy but definately go by Nickname’s list.

ParticipantI’ve used it for the last year and haven’t had any problems with it. I do have to add coolant to it every couple months but it’s not really that big a deal. I use the system built into the Thermaltake Armor LCS case which is equivalent to a Thermaltake Prowater.
If you take your time and do it right you should never have a leak. Quality parts make all the difference as the cheaper ones tend to corrode and leak.
As to heat, it helps some but not much. The same heat is generated no matter what cooling solution you use, the advantage of liquid cooling is that you can quickly channel that heat to a radiator to dissipate instead of leaving it on a heatsink attached to the CPU/video/RAM. The part you’re cooling is significantly cooler but your room, not so much. As to noise, there should be significantly less noise as radiator fans don’t have to spin anywhere near as fast as a CPU fan. I can’t even hear my two 120mm radiator fans.

ParticipantSamsung is the best LCD maker right now for both monitors and tvs. They’re your best bet.
I’ve used Viewsonic for years and haven’t had a single one die on me yet so you can also look at them. They aren’t as good as Samsung though.
MasterP
ParticipantUsing a TV as a monitor is overkill. Get a decent 19-22″ monitor and spend the rest on a smaller sized LCD TV. You might even look into getting a tuner card.

ParticipantWhen diagnosing connectivity problems it’s always best to use the browser Windows likes best.
Go to start, run, type cmd.exe and click ok. Now type ipconfig /all and you’ll get a list of all your internet adapters and their current settings. Find the wired port that you are trying to use and post the ip address, subnet mask, and the default gateway that it lists.
Also, if you are connecting to the dsl/cable modem you MUST reboot it (unplug/plug back in) every time you switch it between a router and PC. If you are connecting your PC to a router then nothing else is required.

ParticipantThe laundry hampers are full and it’s starting to stink…
I am locking ALL Chantz related threads until the matter is decided. Once a decision has been made I will post it in the threads and unlock them.
The demos will be posted shortly for admins to review and discuss. Until the matter is COMPLETELY settled I will be deleting ANY new threads created about the matter. I hate to sound so totalitarian but this matter has been blown way the hell out of proportions and I don’t want it getting any worse than it already has.

ParticipantI didn’t make Deathmatch an option because the mod is flaky IMO. It can be really full for 3 days, empty for a week and then autofill itself again all by itself.
If it’s really wanted I can toss it into the hat as an option. I should be able to find a winrar config if need be.
MasterP
ParticipantI was hoping they would do something like this. People have never really given it a chance.

ParticipantLiam: Please remove Nightfever from the rotation.
I have updated the mapcycle sticky to reflect this change and will leave a blank spot until a replacement can be found.
As always, thanks for the input. You guys make the server happen and your desires are our command.
