I’ve used every OS I listed, some more than others but all enough to judge accordingly. And no, I’m not that old. Idk how old I was for Win95/Win98 but it wasn’t more than 10. Old enough to know what crashed my games.

Some of us, however, were born that *edited* good. This includes Nickname but not Kuros who, in fact, is NOT a better RCC than Kip any day of the week.

Also Vista is not win even with sp1, my microsoft update thinks it needs an update but wont do it and when I try to check it manually I get an error message, unless it works without me having to do a reach a round to get what I want then it is not win, and it is not just me there are tons of forums on this issue and microsoft has yet to give a straight answer on what to do.

I’ve yet to have any major problems with Vista that I can think of. About the only thing that gets on my nerves is that my AIM sometimes doesnt like to start in Vista and I have to try a bunch of times. But, that could be easily solved if I’d just upgrade to that infernal new version of AIM (not going to happen).

but to add in, I have used every Microsoft OS since windows 95 (except for Windows NT 3.5 and 4), and have also used Windows 3.1, Windows for Workgroups 3.11, MS-DOS 3.3, 5.0, 6.0, and 6.22. When Windows 95 came out, we tried it and went back to MS-DOS 6.22 + WFW 3.11 because we were so used to our 1337 text-based DOS menu and you couldn’t use Windows 95 as a seperate program, instead you had to boot into it, which sucked at the time. Of course eventually we did make the transition to Windows 95 but by then it was up to version b (I think that is when USB support began), and it had improved immeasurably.

Idk why I got into all that…

BTW, I agree that PS2 is best cost per $

I couldn’t remember what the official title for it was. +1 internets for you good sir!

As to updates, if you leave it alone it WILL install all by itself. A few weeks ago I had a couple updates that wouldn’t install and then magically they did it on their own one night during a shutdown. Just leave it be, MS will fix it.

Dice, your media center is probably disabled or you have a proprietary program pre-installed with the computer that is conflicting with it. WMP11 comes with Vista. Notepad is a VERY frequent target for viruses and malware programs, try googleing a replacement .exe for it.

i would say not to get off topic, but their reallys not a topic so here it goes :)

Embedded video rarely uses WMP. In fact I don’t think I’ve seen an embedded video use above WMP7.1, ever. Most likely this is a 3rd party plugin in which case you need to take your issues to the browser maker or plugin maker. In the case of FF, yeah the internet wasn’t made for it. IE works everywhere, everytime, doing everything, except for the people who code their websites to specifically require FF to view it as they don’t count.

this is the website i get all sorts of problems http://www.guzer.com/ but its by far not the only one. IDK why i dont like IE, i’v just cant ever remember using it. i only turn to it when i get a problem with FF. which happening alot filling out jobs apps. Which reminds me, when you all do the lan sponsorships apps , use IE and get few headaches

MasterP I do leave it alone and yet the little icon notifying me of updates has yet to leave taskbar for about a month, it also decides to remind me at random times that I have updates ready to be installed click here to install blah blah blah, I click and there are no updates there.

I’ve got a brand new dv6700t that’s less than a week old and it’s media center feature works fine. Make sure you haven’t disabled any of HP’s stuff or you can disable the HP media center plugins and try to get Vista to run it by itself. You might also check HP’s support as they should have a full listing of what needs to be enabled to get that to work.

That website doesn’t use WMP, it uses the Macromedia flash player (.swf). If you haven’t done so, go to http://www.adobe.com and install the flash player for FF as it and IE don’t share the plugin.

That’s Western’s fault. UNCC and UNCG both have the EXACT same system and it works perfectly. You can disable the warning if you want, obviously FF does.

Google it Dice, idk. I imagine there is but don’t know off hand b/c Vista Business doesn’t have MC features.
