Instant respawn is extremely lame, imo. There’s no incentive to stay alive and no benefit to using strategy.

Supporting him as president is being patriotic

And according to the new president, paying taxes is also “patriotic”. I will never be supportive of anyone who runs his campaign on the promise of jacking up every “rich persons” taxes and giving it to people who already don’t pay taxes to begin with. I don’t want my wealth “spread around”, I want the fruits of my labor to be mine regardless of whether I make $20,000 or $200,000.

Oh btw, the Obama definition of “rich” is now $150,000. It managed to drop 40% in a month. Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid have already held votes on bills that would raise taxes on *households* making $42,000 and up. Obama voted in “yes” to that tax increase. So if you compare his campaign rhetoric with how he’s actually voted, we’re all “rich” after we graduate and all our taxes will go up. Somehow the 5% no one thought they were apart of magically turns in to the 95% no one can find their way out of.

For you socialists out there, answer me this. If I earn minimum wage because I dropped out of high school and never made anything of myself, how does that entitle me to a portion of someone else’s income for the rest of my life?

So could you summarize this entire flamewar up in a single post.

Btw, 10 minute rounds with an engineer ban is 100% fail. If you don’t know how to kill a turret gtfo my game and go play BF2.

Dice, the teams WERE NOT balanced last time. One team was extremely stacked and when confronted about it Rydell said it was ok. We did non-sanctioned trades without telling Rydell to balance it out. How it went last time was NOT good by any stretch of even your imagination.

    On a seperate note:

Please don’t take this as racist because it’s not meant to be offense, I’m just curious if anyone else noticed or cared but I find it ironic how much talk I’ve heard lately about how America “transcended” race in this election yet 96% of black Americans voted for Obama. That isn’t transcending race by any stretch of the imagination because you know if 96% of white Americans voted for McCain it would have been a “racist” election and if Hillary had been running and 96% of men voted for McCain we would have been sexist. Granted black Americans have always voted for Democrats in high numbers but never more than 90%. I mean 96% is a very high number, high enough to make any independent thinker question whether or not his ideals really mattered to some voters.

Just something I felt was interesting.

Clearing the playing field was a smart move. I would have done the exact same thing. Also, have you ever considered that people might fake signatures or not get them through appropriate means?

Had they been fake I would agree with that but the vast majority were legitimate signatures that just weren’t cursive enough to the examiners or weren’t obtained through a licensed party official. I don’t know if you’ve ever signed a nomination petition but they are very rarely passed around by officially licensed people, at least not on the Rebublican side. I just don’t get how people believe he’s above old political tricks and games when that’s how his career started.

He ran one of the best campaigns ever. His organizational skills are amazing, his ability to communicate is extremely effective, and the ideas himself or his aides come up with are actually good.

If McCain had been allowed to raise and spend as much money as Obama did I imagine his campaign would have been just as good. Obama cleared the playing field again when he lied about his intention to take public financing and the opt out after McCain accepted it. I’m sure you’re going to say that it was smart but he’s the first major candidate since the public financing system was created to opt out, from either party. Now we can expect both parties to completely ignore the public system in favor of not being tied down by spending limitations, good going, you just made every election in the future twice the spending fest it already was.

The last thing we needed was for McCain to get sick or die and have Palin run the country.

From the thousand or so pages of medical information McCain disclosed, he was in great health. We knew much more about his health than we did Obama’s.

I tried to like Bush and didn’t have a negative opinion until he made about 20 mistakes in a row.

I really hate to defend Bush but as time goes on it’s actually getting easier. It’s been really easy since they actually found WMD’s in Iraq and publicly sold off the stash of Uranium they captured from Saddam’s nuclear program that “didn’t exist”. Which mistakes in particular were you referring to because I’m sure in the next few years any of them that were major talking points will be proven wrong.

We could just toss up a Teamspeak server. It’s not like they’re hard to install or heavy on a server.

Then again, you’d all have to give up the whole “Vent is so much better and totally worth paying money for” craze you got going on.

As far as I can tell he hasn’t done anything to merit such a negative attitude.

That’s the point, he hasn’t done ANYTHING. Period. Most people elected president have years of gubernatorial or congressional experience, all Obama has is 2 years in congress and 2 years campaigning. He’s a wheeling-dealing salesman just like all the other people who sell things over infomercials.

If you really want to know how Obama works, go look at how he got elected to the Illinois legislature. Obama protested the signatures on nomination petitions to a closed door election board meeting until none of his rivals had enough signatures to be on the ballot. Apparently any signature that was printed or not collected by a correctly registered party official was thrown out, eliminating thousands of democrats from the nomination process. Most of the signatures removed were legitimate. The Michigan and Florida ballots in the 2008 primaries were supposed to be thrown out but Obama “did not want to penalize his party’s primary voters on a technicality.” I guess if you’re Obama you get to screw the voters on a technicality when it hurts you and not when it helps.

He talks about leveling the playing field but his career is built on clearing it.

It’s a simple setting in your userCP. There’s no need to manually set a time offset for EVERY user. Especially since not everyone has DST.

I’m not sure what you mean. He had a problem with an admin so he posted about it in the forums. I like to keep as much of this away from “back alleys” as possible. So long as the conversation stays on topic, I don’t really mind this sort of discussion.

He ran a terrible campaign and was unable to appeal to his own conservative base. Further, he represented a disastrous trend of Republicans trying to appeal to the left. It’s not exactly a shock he lost.

It’s been that way from that start because democrats and independents picked the Republican candidate. When you know they’re going to switch back over and vote for the democrat you had to know how well that was going to work out. Republicans subsequently tried to pick the democrat candidate but they threatened to punish us for “screwing with the political process” so most stopped.

Yes, lets all follow our new leader who promises “change”, “hope”, and “a new dawn”. Didn’t they love Hitler and Stalin with the same blindness? Oh wait, we all know those were “bad guys” so that must be different than this. Socialism is socialism and no matter who or how it’s presented or recieved, the result is always the same.

I really don’t like Bracket and was never happy that Liam approved his admin to CSS but your ban will not be the one that gets his admin revoked. It doesn’t matter whether it was the spamming or the teamflash, you know there are consequence for both.

As Nickname said, you had the chance to post that in your appeal but chose not to. Had this been said then it might have been looked into but at this point it looks like you’re just upset and trying to get revenge for being punished.

We welcome you to come back in a month and hope in the meantime you gain an appreciation for what rules mean and why we have them. If you choose to not return, so be it. Just know that we didn’t single you out or push you away, this was your own decision.
