Was there a way to keep it at .01 even if I leave and come back? Or do I just have to keep changing it? I use a Microsoft 2000 dpi laser mouse set on 5.5 sensitivity in game.

I pointed you towards the public thread you posted in the CSS forums where you publically quit. I know you had a private conversation in the admins forum, but the general gist of it was almost the same thing.

Just delete the css files from steamapps and reinstall them.
the purple/black checkerboard is nothing but a video memory glitch in direct3d. Restarting your game will almost always fix that.
Just order it through steam. That’s how I got mine, it worked fine.
It’s called ‘The Orange Box’ though.

Second, the client (I do believe) chooses their own optimized rates based on connection to the server. So long as they meet my server set minimums of 45/45, they can be whatever up to 101. I attempted to initially set the rates at 75/75 but this proved a bit overkill on those that were pushing the then 250 ping limit. An increase in rates will also increase your ping as some of you may or may not know. I believe that the 45/45 rates have INCREASED registry compared to what they were before I set those variables. This fight has been fought before and both Adam and myself have deemed the addons unnecessary server overhead. Unfortunately, I can’t control interp on the server side. You are still going to get shot beside the wall even though you managed to get behind it. You’re just going to have to yell at people for that one.It is possible to have a plugin force their interp to a certain setting when they connect with very little trouble.
Can’t hurt to try.

Alternately, you can download a cd iso from bittorrent.Yes. ma_rates looks at the client-side variables. The server actually forces them to have a minimum on rate, cl_cmdrate, and cl_updaterate. I believe its 20000/60/60.
If your getting an error after downloading a map and/or trying to join a non-official map on the server, the fix is fairly simple.
In Windows, go to:
My Computer,
C Drive
Program Files
Steam
SteamApps
counter strike source
maps
In that folder, delete the offending custom maps.
(Don’t worry about losing them. The server will automatically re-download them.)
Re-join the server.
You should be able to get in.
If for some reason you can’t get in or you can’t find that map, do the following:
Click Start -> Find Files and Folders
Do a search for the map name.
(ie, de_russka)
delete the files it finds.
Re-join the server.
I hope this helps sort out some of the problems everyone is having.
