As I’ve heard, the networks used to be unsegmented so you can see people across campus, but now they’re segmented by dorm.
I’m partial to the ‘headshot’ symbol in NoDice’s post.
Do we want the crosshairs to be part of our logo?
Personally I think the shirts should be purple or white, not black, to stand out more. I like the cheater free society one, although I do agree that we need something a bit more universal.
Let’s have 4 then, 20 or 30 minutes each (rounds are too difficult to predict time-wise). de_contra, de_inferno, de_tides, and whatever the finalists want. Perhaps run the final by rounds instead of time.
That’s no excuse not to play one of the better maps for source… I’ll try to announce the rotation way ahead of time so people have time to practice.
Most likely RTS would be their own category along with the PC shooters and console games, so we’d run for example one starcraft tourney through the whole lan.

That only applies to situations with alltalk, like scoutzknivez. The speaker won’t show up unless you can actually hear the person.

It’s at 24 to keep it stable. Unlike the CS server, it runs at a steady 100 tics.

If last LAN was any indication, I’ll probably be too dead to go to another LAN the next day. Sorry guys, but I think I’ll sit this one out.

SPEEX’S FREENESS CANNOT BE DEFEATED. It may not be the best compared to some ridiculously complicated proprietary codecs, but it’s got a BSD-like license, so even Valve can use its open-source goodness in their closed-source garbage.
Also, I’m kind of disappointed that they took out the bandwidth setting that 1.6 had, you could crank the quality up even higher at the expense of a little bandwidth, which we certainly have.
