4400+ @ 2.2ghz per core, so it’s not all that impressive. It’s not terribly stable like my 3200 was, but maybe it’s the memory.

Wow, people are still dumb enough to use auto-shoot? That’s the epitome of lazy…

Also, teamspeak is hosted on-campus, so it doesn’t disappear when the internets go down, and it works on linux, for all those people who use it. i.e., me. Contrary to popular belief, teamspeak is not inferior voice quality.

My wallet is very, very small too. That’s why I’m overclocking instead of buying a better system ;)

Yeah, one neat thing about teamspeak is that anyone can create temporary channels that disappear once they empty out.

The three big reasons I’d rather have teamspeak:

    1) It’s free to host for gaming clubs / clans / etc up to 100 people. Because of this, we can host it locally, on aphrodite, and not ping 3000 or be unable to chat when the internet goes down or goes lossy

    2) Also, this way we’re not dependent on one person – if you disappear or can’t pay for the vent server, it’s gone

    3) It supports linux as well as windows and mac (mac through a third party)

Hopefully the next release will up the quality a bit by supporting higher sampling rates.

Source is actually more playable on my laptop (radeon express 200M) than 1.6 is. I do not know why 😐

You have to add custom maps to the slut or they will be slow downloads. It won’t affect what the official server sees.

I got a match just now, but I was pinging yellow/red the entire time. Sucks, too… it was a sword match so I couldn’t even take advantage of lag compensation.

I still can’t find any matches from Reynolds, and I dunno if custom works. I think I’ll talk to AJ about it.

If I want HD movies, I’ll wait until there’s a decent HD-DVD/Blu-ray combo burner for PCs and spend my money on that, not play it through a game console.

I will admit the PS3 has some wicked sick number-crunching abilities, but I won’t really be impressed until I see a game that does realtime raytracing.

But think of all the b33r you could buy if you got the xbox (without all the crap accessories – the only thing there worth it is the play&charge kit, and live).

Also, no headset? How will you yell at the noobies!? That’s half the fun in Halo 2.
