That’s exactly what I don’t want because it creates even more of a bias towards people who play 5 hours a day. Points should be a reflection of your skill level, not how frequently you play.
Here’s why: You have a positive KDR. Every session, your points would go up. People with higher KDRs would go up even faster. The score would be nothing but a reflection of a player’s KDR times time played (except for an occasional objective) – and since most people are around 1.2, it would be pretty much about how frequently someone plays. Not only that, but new players wouldn’t stand a chance because we all have days and days of play time up on them, and they would get dissatisfied and leave. There’s no way to “move up” in the system without grinding endlessly.

I’ve changed the weapon modifiers:
Pistols: 1.2
Rifles/SMGs: 1.0
AWP: 0.3
HE Grenade: 1.5
Knife: 2.0
Flash/Smoke: 5.0
Get over it. If you want to move up in rank, you’ll actually have to work at it, not mindlessly grind away like some kind of *edited*ty MMORPG.
Besides, if you’re on top, you need to stay challenged. If you can’t get 8 KDR against noobs, then you don’t need to be on top.
Just because a lot of people bought it doesn’t mean it’s objectively great. It is pretty fun though, for a while.
OK, fine, you get 4 hours with time to spill over into dinner. Halo 2 will start promptly at 2PM. Gears will start at 9:30 and run until we wrap up.
From 2PM (when tournaments start) to 2AM is 12 hours. Subtract 3 hours for food, cleanup, etc and we get 9 hours. That would be 4.5 hours per tournament, except we want to have some of the “fun” tourneys (wii bowling, SMB) open to anyone. If you want to sacrifice that freedom and force halo 2 players to take the entire 4-5 hours and run over into the first dinner, fine. Gears, however, can’t also do that because people have to eat eventually.
I have no idea WTF will be going on with starcraft, we might have to put it off until next time since I haven’t even talked about it.
If someone is bring really obnoxious on mic, I’ll ma_mute them (it works in Source at least), but that only lasts one map, and if I’m not there to catch it I obviously can’t do anything. As Adam said, learn to mute people.
The only major difference is the shadow effect, and you don’t even notice unless you’re flipping back and forth. As for mircstats, that would involve setting up a logging bot (or using someone’s IRC client) and adding another cronjob to aphrodite, and it’d really just be for *edited*s and giggles anyway.
