Participanti think the problem is more that there’s some calculation that’s factoring in your downtime between maps. not necessarily with the kicker, but maybe even with the game itself… pings normally jump right after a switch but settle down after about 20 seconds or so. maybe if we toss in a 30 second grace period on map changes that would keep some of these kicks. i know i end up pinging 20+ after most map changes, compared to my usual 1-5

Participantactually it’s not a glitch, exactly. it’s designed that way because it’s randomly amusing to get to the end of the round and then shoot the guy next to you to see if they were switched. enjoy it and have fun

Participanti got mine all this week… my last one’s thurs 3-??pm, so i get to stay the maximum time possible… i’ll be glad to be through with exams and class and all, but ima be really bummed to not be around all these people anymore

Participantbump bump bumpity bump
Falcon
Participantwell, for starters you’re not gonna be able to in windows, i don’t think. it’s a linux media player

Falcon
Participantlol yup.
and some of these screenshots are mix n match… i’ve got a few from 1.6. actually tbh i thought i had more from cs:s but apparently no

Participantgranted, it would only be yet another target for me to knife and then rapid-crouch the body

Falcon
Participantdice, you freakin genius… you reminded me of something completely off topic, but now i’m gonna have to go get teh ChaosUT mod on my ut2k4 and go swinging around the maps again like george of the jungle.
Falcon
Participantawww, dude… i totally wish i coulda seen that

Participanti haven’t any experience against shields on any flavor of counter-strike, but I know them well in Rainbow Six: Vegas 2. I like the satisfaction of blowing an enemy’s hand off with an arctic warfare and thus killing them. that being said, 1.6 and source aren’t set up for damage like that (or even the obvious target of someone’s arm showing from the elbow up), so i’d imagine it would be more difficult to kill them, so i’m voting no…
Falcon
Participanti personally wouldn’t go for the in-game irc… i liked that option in UT2k4 but that was a whole separate thing in-game. if IRC starts getting throughput in the regular chat in one of the half-life based games, that’s going to be a ridiculous amount of stuff passing through the conversation window and you won’t be able to keep up
Falcon
Participantand for the PS3 stuff, plz do make it to meetings. That’s why they haven’t been tournaments, they’ve consistently not had enough support in the meetings. Get your buddies to come too, that’s more votes in favor of one!
Falcon
Participantnuttin wrong wit dat dice. and I don’t remeber specifics, but i’d venture a guess that gxti could LAN more than just half of reynolds
Falcon
Participantya it is. i couldn’t get in for 10 mins waiting on the server to drop to 29 players coz at 30 it kept kicking me to keep that blasted slot

no hard feelings <3

Participantokay

i’ve gone through on de_dust2 in cs:s as ct when the t’s were rushing b, run straight up mid, knifed i think 2 snipers in spawn, grabbed one of ’em’s awp, and proceeded to ace the t’s, who were camped out in tunnels and confused as hell why all their teammates were dying, so they were retreating to spawn. Granted, it’s not all knifing, and it was cs:s, but still…
then also too i’ve been known to knife 5+ people / round a few times in scoutzknivez3, especially when they all camp spawn.
but definitely, knife rushing mid and/or mid->b tunnels->t spawn->flank is so much fun

ParticipantI recommend the more affordable option… I’m still rocking a geforce 6800gt from years ago, and it still does fine and well, about the only thing it doesn’t do on modern stuff is the extra fancy shizz. Granted, some games will look at that and go “i can’t have my pixel shaders and vertex shaders and AA as high as bleeding edge technology can get and still get as many fps as the number of miles light travels in a calendar year, i shall not run.” it can still render more than enough poly’s to keep my games happy (1.6, cs:s, portal, tf2, UT2k4, Tomb Raider: Aniversary, CoD 1, CoD 1: UO, etc.). especially if you’re gonna be sticking to cs:s and 1.6, there be no reason

Falcon
Participantgood thinking
Falcon
Participanti loved the first one!
Falcon
Participantmy rig… i’ve reflashed the bios and reworked the settings, and it works, i’m just worried that if i keep rebooting it for games anymore then i’m tempting fate.
but yeah, ima try to get 1.6 running in linux, i think i’ll be good to go if i do that. cs:s is finicky, i can run it 2-3 times after clean installing wine and steam and all that junk, then it just won’t start, and winedebugger goes nuts

Falcon
Participantjust gonna chime in and say that i’ve seen this phenomena too, the yellow indicator (i’m assuming that to be the bomb) wasn’t on radar very often while i was playing
Falcon
Participantvery nice shot
Falcon
Participantthat is awesome
Falcon
Participanti say it was a fun map to play. i never kept up with what that did to stats, maybe someone’s worried about that? but yeah, that map was crazy fun

The proceedure I’ve listed has fixed several dozen of the errors like you’ve got. I believe I’ve only had to reformat on 2 of out those I’ve tried it on and those also had a corrupted registry and the backups didn’t take.Falcon said:
windows is fixed,Falcon

it’s either a bad BIOS config or bad hardware.correct, that’s where i’m at now at diagnosing this. the last several times i flashed the bios i did a windows .exe flash, that could have been the problem.
all i’m saying wit dat post is that windows runs, but i’m running linux since that’s where all my stuff’s at now (alarm clock, data, internet setup, etc.) and i’m not turning this thing off to find out which of those two problems it is.
windows isn’t the part keeping it from posting, just i’m suspecting somewhere within running windows would be one of the triggers for whatever it is with the mobo that’s messing up. keyword: trigger.

Participanti did those and actually got windows running, once. then the motherboard itself failed to post after a regular windows shutdown.
windows is fixed, the computer still acts goofy tho

Participantkey word we used was interim. she is the interim council leader until the may 3 cookout/meeting at which there will be a general body vote.
per the constitution, i really don’t think these people want to know what happens if you’re right. I’ve already resigned. if there’s no CL…
Falcon
Participantnah, i’m easily good for academic purposes. i have this one running linux, then should it fail i have a surplus sale mac g4 desktop with linux that runs too, without any problems
