Action: Request a ChangeStatement: um on another server i play at they have this thing in the server where you type into regular chat “!irc” then your message and it sends a message to irc. and the people in irc can talk to those in server. and you don’t have to minimize game or open irc. much less dl it. so i think its pretty cool and doesn’t require people in server to be regs or anything to get admins or other help.if you guys need any help just ask, meaning server ip or w/e. they also have a !admin or something command to just call an admin i think.also can we have a 1.6 server that just has funmaps instead of just a funmap night once a while. we had a full server with everyone having fun on i think all the maps. just gotta fine tune the spawn point stuff and thats it.and is there any way to make it so that in irc we can see the time of things said? thanks – BAMF. !admin would be awesome… just get a cheep 12″ $2 monitor to run irc if you wont to go it ingame

i personally wouldn’t go for the in-game irc… i liked that option in UT2k4 but that was a whole separate thing in-game. if IRC starts getting throughput in the regular chat in one of the half-life based games, that’s going to be a ridiculous amount of stuff passing through the conversation window and you won’t be able to keep up

I think the delay on it is timed high enough now it wont get g-lined.

 

Anyways, I don’t really think this is a good idea. It just adds more useless load to the gaming server and will cause more traffic.

I agree, it just *edited*s with the sever… Why be lazy? Just get XChat and you’re done.

idk what xchat is but i have irc. but what i mean is this. if someone in server types !irc before their message then the message will show up in irc

and if someone puts !1.6 or some other thing before their post in irc it can be seen in server.

 

this should obviously be limited to admins in irc and a new rule saying spamming either is punishable. or atleast the !admin
