ParticipantThere’s been some issues with the email validation system for user registration. I’ve disabled the email validation for now until I can backtrack whats going on.
So if you’ve registered lately, go re-register. I purged all of the validating names because there were a couple of hundred and most of them were obviously trash.

Participantthats a job for miss karen stone, as she is our “leazyone” between WCUg and IT
but if was a blocked port, phat chance they will unblock it ever. They wont even unblock the xbox live lan port. They must not be a fan of ghaylo eathier. think this entire campus is fed up with westerns internet.
i think who ever is incharge of internetz beleave “if the students dont have internets, then i wont half to worrie about aids getting oun mies servers”
Note: please see the above as a joke and not pointing twards anythone,, its just phun stariotyping,, i’m sure someone will take that the wrong whey

It’s not a port issue as there are very few ports blocked on the admin virtual network. Besides, ITS has its own email system on the same network and I can still access it and send emails through it like normal.
The XBOX Live ports shouldn’t be blocked. The problem is that each datacloset acts as its own LAN so people in Leatherwood can’t play with people in Benton as they appear to the XBOX as 2 different networks. People in Reynolds north can’t play with people in Reynolds south, even though they are 100 feet away from each other. It’s just the way Networking chose to set things up.

ParticipantIt’s hit and miss. You’re not supposed to be able to but for some you can. Also depends on planetary alignments.
The LANs were seperated by closet due to viruses that were able to spread over network shares. It didn’t help against the massive rinbot outbreak but several others were isolated so they decided to keep the policy.
I have to admit it was quite funny sitting in one of the Belk labs in a lecture and watching as the computers caught rinbot one by one. You don’t really respect the power of these types of malware until you’re sitting in a room full of IRC drones.
