On the last steam update something weird happened for some people and a lot of people have been getting a classic “wont load modules”…or something like that error and I got that…or else I would have been playing…but I just uninstalled steam and sauce and will reinstall it and get it all ready to go again for a super summer!

I think we should lower the rotation back down to that one we had where it was Dust2/office/inferno every 3 or 4 maps so as to populate. And even when the “regulars” start to *edited* we need to keep that rotation so as to keep the population through the slow period which is about to come up again with summer approaching.
Take out any custom maps.
Take out the more obscure league maps, even if they are good. We need maps that bring more peeps in.

Wireless will never be good to play on, especially with a lot of people on. When I play on my wireless I get a nice lag spike where I freeze every 5ish minutes, and the reg is never as good when I’m on the wireless, and my choke is always >5ish…
If you would listen to what people are telling you then you would understand we are in need of a NEW server to have the great registry and zero lag/choke/whatever that some servers can boast. But since this is a school funded situation, stuff doesn’t happen so quickly. The execs have done their best to work with what they’ve got and honestly, the server reg has never been any better than is it now. It has always been sub-*edited*ty and thats that…
I don’t see why you think you would get a lot of kills anyways, you’re eyes are on opposite sides of your head…your depth perception with a rifle must be terribad…

You can make that argument for chateau as well, but I have also seen chateau and prodigy fill the server at random times of the night…I would assume due to their old-school nostalgia effect…

I just threw assault in there for the nostalgia of getting raped as a ct for ten minutes…Havana is win for hours, but I would compromise at 10 minutes…Strata is a little big, but again, I can deal with it…I just threw in the others for some random new maps that I’m sure half the pop has never played, and when implemented would kill the server, thus, verifying that we need a smaller compact rotation like we have…
Nightfever, assault, havana, crane, port, strike, strata, russka, villa, dust4ever, prodigy, de_battleship_hdr, de_gambaru, siege, sandland…just to name a few…
Don’t take this the wrong way but there will always be two sides to this argument and you are on the minority side now that wants to *edited* about this. I too am in this minority and would love to see some more maps thrown in, and maybe that can happen soon…But we saw what happened last time we threw up a new rotation with lots of different maps, but the same consistent fillers(D2/office/inferno/mill), people start to *edited* about certain new maps, and then if they can’t rtv, then they just leave…
Honestly if we want a full server then keeping this general rotation is best for the server, maybe expand slightly with more 10 minute map rotations in there: assault, militia, D1, nightfever, havana, strike, fire…but again, most of those will not draw peeps in, which means we are stuck with the pop we have accumulated now, and we can just hope that they continue to play the amount they do right now…
And rtv is good for the server, but for larger populations the % should go up, if that is possible, but stay low for the low populations…
There is nothing wrong with giving all the admins the ability to change maps, but it would cause more work for kip and lemm since they would have to check logs for any map change without a post…

For starters, just because I have the ABILITY to unban him doesn’t mean I have the AUTHORITY to unban him. It’s Lemm’s server and having people join the server while I’m playing SPECIFICALLY to ask me to unban him automatically makes me not go the extra mile to give a *edited*. Several admins complained to me about being spammed and annoyed by others about unbanning him. Both PK and the players know that only Lemm is officially allowed to unban but they didn’t care and kept hassling every admin they could find anyway. Now had he quiety messaged me or Lemm on Steam, explained the situation, and asked for an unban we’d have confirmed the ban length and then unbanned. As soon as you start spamming or abusing the server or its admins it elevates the situation to something beyond what I can unban for, especially when people are complaining on the forums about it.
Secondly, this is by far NOT the first time PK has been in hot water with the admins here. PK has a long track record of being a complete *edited* to admins when he doesn’t get his way so you’ll have to forgive us when we don’t really jump up to immediately rush to his aid when stuff like this happens, especially when he goes and does stuff he KNOWS *edited*es us off.
Lastly, I find it hard to believe you’d think me immature when he never apologized for spamming the server. “hahha sorry im bored as *edited*!” means that yeah he knew it was wrong and did it anyway because he didn’t have anything better to do. It’s not an apology, especially when the post ended in “hahahaha”.
You’ll have to forgive me for caring about earning your respect if the only way to do so is to tolerate and enable spammers. You don’t ever play with me so you don’t really know me. If how I don’t unban spammers is your measure of my character, you’ve got a lot to learn about my admin style and how “mature” and “reasonable” of an admin I am. Most of the people who have played with me in-game like me both as a player and an admin so I’d ask that before you jump to take the side of someone who constantly annoys the *edited* out of admins and ignores rules and warning (notice he was warned before being banned to begin with and ignored it) you might try putting the admins’ shoes on and walking around the block.
Now I have no idea why he was banned but right now it is my resposibility to maintain a working and stable server. Had I been in-game when he was spamming his IP would likely be on permaban for that because as a server op it’s my job to ensure spamming and abuse like that doesn’t happen. Now imagine if the TF2 server had been full and his spamming had caused them lag, would you then sit there and bash us for the actions we took or would it change things?
hitz thanks for backing me up buddy this whole thing was just a *edited*ing misunderstanding and the admins actually went to far im *edited*ing glad you agree with me i just didnt want to post anything and get banned seeing they love power. to be honest this is what happened….i was banned because i said something that is not allowed to be said in the server i lagged my mic must have been down i was yelling *edited* to my roommate ex thought i was being a *edited* banned me but i lagged out so i had no idea i was banned. i made an appeal and finally ex told me why i was banned and that it was for 30 mins. i came back an hour later i was still banned so i was trying to get hold of admins no one responded to me on the forums and i saw admins in the server so i spammed to get their attention they told me to stop and i did. this whole thing was blown out of proportion i was really surprised how the admins handled it. but again thanks hitz you da man buddday
To be clear here…he was banned, ban stayed longer than should have, he messaged multiple admins(I think), and also asked people in game to get ahold of admins…I was contacted in game, told turkeyman I would look into it, told him to tell pk to stop spamming, took 10-15 minutes for him to finally stop…then I told him the people that needed to be contacted could not be contacted at the moment, and yet turkeyman(I’m assuming under the influence of PK) kept asking and asking and asking and bothering me about the ban…
Now PK, as masterP has said, this is not the first time you’ve been under scrutiny with the admins, so just quit your half assed arguments for sympathy…

I voted for fun, BUT I hate Train with a fiery passion and generally leave when it comes up…I also disagree with taking Office out of the rotation for the second time, especially when I have been on the server several times when Dust2 has cleared the server…
But that’s just me…

‘Nesi is TOO good of a map, and does not make peeps leave…And assault for too long does make peeps leave. Militia is just like Assault.
I think the answer here is what does Lemm want to do, because there will always be people who hate the rotation. If we had it my way it would be back to the other way with lots of different maps, but that isn’t what populates the server when it’s dead. So we need a popped server, and the rotation is small, and the people that do play constantly now are getting bored and won’t take into consideration that this is what the server needs for another couple weeks.
Tides has been fairly popular…maybe throw it in there for 10 minutes? Maybe Italy or Aztec for 10 minutes?

That’s not the problem, the problem is when there are <8 peeps in the server it will not allow anyone to rtv…leave the percentage, but lower the minimum peeps to 4…

You can never ever defeat me on my epic ban lulz…Liam used to have to pull the logs to show peeps how much roffle there was in my banz…
Could I suggest adding a bunch of messages to pop up in the server, whether it is in sm_chat, or just the upper left/right corner…but somewhere to advertise WHERE to get an admin at, WHERE the forums are, WHEN fun nights will be, NO b hopping, NO defuse stealing…ect…
