Another bug that RTV has is a reconnect bug.
If you reconnect after you have placed your vote you can cast another vote.
EDIT: Apparently it is the Big Foot of Bugs, I have seen it happen myself, but when I tried to show it to Major it disappeared! lol believers should keep an eye out if you see it happen.

All I have to say is “exec” like “admin” is just a label, and in the end we are all just a group of friends. I voted a sadface because I don’t think we have enough love in the this mix. This isn’t a job, or a rank, it’s fun, bottomline, and as much as we should “respect” admin and execs, we should remember as admins and execs that the only reason we can have those powers is because there is a base that supports us. Anyone who is inconsiderate and ignorant of this knowledge shouldn’t be called execs or admin. fyi i’ve been “casually” drinking.

yea it might be time to start layin some guide lines of when to vote and when not to vote. i was hoping u guys would be smart enoff not to have to have rules like that put in place. It really is just common sense. you guys know the rotation so don’t vote a map that is going to be played next or within the next 3 maps. Hopefully once piranesi get put in we wont need to vote map so much.

This is one of the drawbacks of democracy. People vote for RTV to play a map they want. And it just so happens that the map in the rotation after the voted map is the same thing. What’s so hard about either a) doing another rtv,
getting an admin to votemap a map that wont be played very soon. c) don’t rtv in the first place to keep the rotation clean. I don’t know if it needs guidelines as much as say a warning or something: like after you cast an rtv have it spit at you WARNING: YOUR GOING TO F UP THE ROTATION, RTV AT YOUR OWN RISK. Now granted most cs players are ADHD, so they might not read it, but we have to hope at least some level headed individuals will make the right decision. also going back to the “cannot vote a map unless the server is half full” is just solving a problem with another problem. So we make the rotation stupid proof, but in return the server dies because it’s stuck on a map no one wants to play. I like all the maps, but some days the server will stay empty when it’s stuck on a map like cbble for 20 minutes. Now if what Liam said is how it is: RTV for dense times and when the server is under 50 percent capacity admins can votemap, then that solves the issue right there.
TBH though, I don’t see a real problem, maybe when there are no admins on, but when there are they should have enough brain and cs power to solve this pretty easily.

Even WCU limits the use of their vendor to certain departments and faculty only.Ya we have a vpn system which allows us to open certain folders and connect to the main campus network at home, but I’m pretty sure we can not use the programs they have on campus at home.

But I hate being redirected to another server, especially if it’s a completely different kind of server. For example, a lot of our regulars played in one of PGN’s 1.6 servers, but a few times when it was full, I would get redirected to their zombie server. I like zombie mod, but I wanna play regular 1.6, dammit. I can wait for a slot to open up, but some people might not want to. If we give reserved slot privileges to regulars, well… we have a lot of regulars.

:rolleyes: lol she’s awesome but back to the topic at hand, here is another idea that can be tossed around. Okay so it is a given admins will be on the reserve slot list. How about we encourage regulars to participate on the forums or in a forum contest, and have say the top (meaningful) posters win a reserve slot for a week. I know Admins are very important to the vitality of the server, but so are regulars, there has to be some way everyone can gain from this, not just admins.

See that isn’t the point. The point was that I was mentioning a possible complaint one would claim in regards to the slot reserves. It has the “potential” to be a problem, not saying that it is a problem.
Yeah I can access it on campus, but the computers are to slow and they only give you so much hard drive space (100 MB per student) that’s less than 10 medium sized psd’s.
ah well, if I find a good deal I’ll post it up.
Honestly, this is a good idea, but it’s really annoying for someone who doesn’t have a slot and here is why…
If it’s always 28/31, and you don’t have a slot, you cannot put Auto-load up. It just wont let you. Some may brush this off as being lazy, but honestly the only time I’ll wait on a server that is full is if I can use that Auto connect button. It’s so annoying to have to sit there and refresh until you see an opening, then try to connect and get denied. When you put reserve slots in the picture it takes out that Auto connect button.
I may be the only one that feels that way, but it’s a perspective that should be taken into account.

Tbh, I don’t understand why this is such a big deal. If you’re inactive, you lose admin. It’s this way almost everywhere else. I’m going to be going through CSS here shortly and clearing out all the inactive and poor performing admins we have and they won’t instantly get it back either.
its not really a big deal, but more of a minor issue.
