You can play with it in VMWare if you want. That way the ragedelete is only directed at one file on your hard drive. :)

I’m guessing it has several driver/compatibility issues?

It makes your computer tower have dent and shoemark issues.

Take the driver issues Vista had on release day and add them to twice the stability issues people associated with ME.

Changing the map is a good idea. It seems like pipeline isn’t as popular as it once was.

If Nickname won’t give you one I have a few spares.

You will first have to explain why you want to use such a terrible excuse for an operating system. :)

When your interp is set to 0.1 you kill hit shots that you shouldn’t. Thats a fact.

An interp of .1 is the equivalent of setting your cmdrate to 14 and your updaterate to 10. I mean if you want to play with rates that low…

Interp is directly related to other rates. If we force interp to .01 it basically forces everyone to run at the full 100 tick speed regardless of whether or not their computer or connection can handle the load. If a player has lowered their other rates because their internet connection isn’t super fast it would cause massive choke.

I mean if you want to empty the server it’s a great idea but otherwise not so much.

My physics minor had a strong optics base. Seriously though, the more you learn about this stuff the more you notice it in everyday life. Sometimes, when completely and totally bored with absolutely no distractions at all, the mind can wander to such things.

The above aside, has everyone here noticed a slight decrease in FPS/framerate since a recent steam update? Because I asked a friend, and he told me he had the same issue as I did… a sudden FPS decrease on CS:S.

I still get 60. For everyone with correct settings that’s all that will matter.

Why don’t dark templars cast shadows? Or even the spy in TF2?!

Cloaks and invisible aparations bend light AROUND them. For there to be a shadow the light has to first hit something then the remaining light be stopped by another object. For instance, light hitting a person and creating a silouette on the ground of him (shadow) with the remaining, non-obstructed light.

In the case of Starcraft and TF2, the light is completely bent so a shadow is not created. Occassionally in Star Trek, the cloak isn’t perfect and a semi-shadow is created. This is by design as in that universe a perfect cloak is only achieved by the Federation and Romulans. Most Klingon ships create a semi-shadow and when viewed against a bright backdrop (sun/planets) you can see the light being bent.

Both my macs (macbook pro and mac pro) are great with peripherals. Great plug and play no driver needed support for any webcam, controller, usb headset, usb mic, usb soundcard, keyboard, or mouse i’ve thrown at it.

Vista is every bit as compatible but you never hear anyone say that but “fanboys”. I have yet to see something Vista didn’t autodetect or autodownload a driver for.

I do find it odd though that when Windows doesn’t have drivers for something it’s called a flaw but when Apple refuses to make drivers but for a very specific set of hardware it’s called “creating a total user experience”.

Yeah before I do anything on the Wii that I haven’t done before I always back up my SD card. Stuff like that seems to happen more and more. I wouldn’t dare have a USB drive in when testing :)

I got a bunch of it to work but it either won’t recognize my drive or it crashes… stupid system menu 4.0

Yeah the steps they give for the 4.0 install include downgrading to cIOS36. Like I said, the scariest thing I’ve ever done to a console was downgrade my Wii. If you’re going to do it I HIGHLY recommend doing it a different way than they said. When I get back Saturday night I can send you the program I used. It basically strips the Wii back down to the factory pre-release OS then incrementally upgrades it to the version you select.

Also, as promised here is my config file for the autoboot. I can’t upload it but the file is: SD:\bootmii\bootmii.ini.

Do you still get playable framerates in CoD4? If so it’s a CSS problem, not a computer problem. Reinstall CSS and make sure you delete all local content when you do.

If you get bad framerates in CoD4 then it’s probably poor cooling on the video or processor or a failing video card.

After rebooting, if you still have trouble with ONLY 1 game, try resetting the video settings for that game or updating your video drivers.

I used the Twilight Hack to install the Homebrew Channel last October. I haven’t used Bannerbomb but it’s the same principle and should be just as safe to use. They’ve also got a Smash Brothers Brawl crash to use as well but no one really knows when they’ll release that to the public.

And yes, I’m enjoying this right now. I turn the Wii on and it goes stright to the Homebrew Channel.

When Systems reset our webserver some things we had turned off autostarted again and well, yeah, it hit the fan.

The website will still be slow during peak times but should be LESS slow. I’m still trying to contact them about it.

AoE 1 and 2 had such terrible netcode. Even across a LAN it still got massively laggy.

We put some program on our school computers that was supposed to make the games play better, Gameboost or something like that. Surprisingly it actually made win98 play games even better, how I have no idea.

ill look into it, ill just disable the amx portion of it since we arent using it anymore

The CS16 stats are configured to latch in directly with AMX and replace the built-in stats function. The old setting should still be commented out in the config file.
