ParticipantPer Shingi, I have added the revised constitution to be voted on to the OP.
MasterP
ParticipantThere were a number of provisions in it that were not up to SGA regulations. There were also many loopholes, as we’ve been discovering over the last 6 months.
All the violations have been fixed and the loopholes plugged.
This meeting will essentially be to vote on the amended constitution, as a whole.

I mean you all can make fun of me if you want but there is no way im going to lose all that weight by simply not drinking soda/beer.
Last time I quit drinking coke over a summer break I lost about 30 pounds.

ParticipantWhen I was in PA last we had a ball with the town names.
MasterP
ParticipantYou could always try stop drinking the sodas and beer.
Also, quit watching NASCAR. 99% of fans are overweight because of beer intake levels.

ParticipantIn the CRIB:
Mitch: Alright I’m taking dinner, Brad you’re in charge. Don’t fire anyone while I’m gone.
Brad: Sure thing.
Outside Cat’s Den 2 minutes later:
Mitch: Hey Brad, if you’re out here smoking who’s in charge?
Brad: Oh I left the chair in charge.

ParticipantBeing a republican has nothing to do with being conservative.
I don’t consider myself to be a republican. Never have and likely never will. I’ll gladly vote for a democrat if they’re the more conservative candidate.

most likely conservative democrats, aka more conservative than republicans even.
There’s no such thing. When push comes to shove, a democrat is a democrat.

ParticipantThis is a terrible laptop. It’s so terrible that I feel terrible that someone of your greatness has it sitting around. Ship it to me and I’ll properly dispose of this garbage of a machine.
I’ll even pay for shipping.

How’d you get that from my statement? I just think it’s funny that everyone who gets caught smoking it gets *edited*ed they got caught and later freely admits it to friends/family who then blame the cops for enforcing the law. It’s against the law, that means don’t do it, not even a little bit when no one’s watching.

Yes I am happy it came in under $500 (though I will wait until they are actually available to see if that is still the case) but come on they had plenty of time they should have had something better than this. I mean the price/performance wouldnt bother me if the thing was at least on par with AMD as far as heat and power efficiency go.
Yes they should have done better given the time, die size, and raw power it has. I mean the GPU is a monster powerhouse but it’s almost like it’s having to do hardware emulation to play video games. I predict too many foreign designers on the team and not enough Americans. Based on the racial breakdown I saw in NCSU’s microarchitecture and memory systems programs I’d say it’s probably 99% indian/chinese and 1% American. Those guys can run circles around us in math but when it comes to being inventive and thinking outside the box they don’t have a clue.
They need to get their construction process up to 100% so they don’t have to cut off processing units like they do now, fully utilize their memory bus, fix the fan speed settings, and quit trying to leap ahead of ATI in areas that don’t matter.

ParticipantGo look at the Anandtech individual game comparisons. They’re sad, and far from “10-15%”.
And if the throw down is games it can play that the 5870 can’t, my 3 yeard old 8800GTX could play almost every single game on the same resolution with tolerable framerates as both cards.
To answer your question, no I’m not disappointed. I was expecting it to perform equal to or less than the 5870 and cost $700. You were too. Why you’re so bent out of shape about it being a little bit faster for a little bit more money is puzzling. Maybe if Nvidia had the alternate cashflow of a CPU market and could bank on money from dozens of lawsuits against Intel in every major court on the planet they’d have released a card that was this much faster and then sold it below production cost, like ATI does.

MasterP
Participant25% more? Have you even looked at how much the 5870s from real manufacturers cost? It’s $50 more, $75 at most, which is 11-17%, for 15-30% greater performance. Even at your lowball estimate of 10-15% higher performance it’s comparably priced.
Oh and there are games the 5970 and SLI/CF configs of the 480/5870 can’t get 60fps on. So yeah, when it comes to the newer games that 15-30% makes a difference. Especially if you’re buying with more than 1 year of intended usage.
Also worth noting, the big gain for the GTX 480 was in the minimum FPS for all the tests, which at times was twice that of the 5870.

I noticed no one posted anything about the GTX 480. It’s 15-30% faster than the 5870 in most games and isn’t outrageously priced.
It is however insanely hot, with load temperatures of 98C.
I do believe I called this card. 100%. Nickname can vouch.
being 6 months late and they only get 15%? and the card is still $500? and consumes that much power and that much heat?
sounds like more of a fail than a win to me.
Of course, I forgot. Outperforming the competition by a sizable margin means you fail, especially when you’re in the same price range as that under-performing competitor card.
Btw, the FTC is suing Intel over their decision to lock Nvidia out of the chipset market.

Actually, I really don’t remember hearing the word “Terrorist” once when Timothy McVeigh bombed Ohio City, despite him being lone wolf grade. Maybe they just avoid the word if it’s domestic.
That’s because if they called them terrorists and people saw they were attacking US soil (or planning to) they would demand the government take a more war-like stance. The last thing Obama wants right now is for the general populace to have yet another inaction to be *edited*ed over.

I seem to be the only one on this discussion who can’t see the private forums so I don’t know what is being talked about there. As such i’m just putting some ideas out there that may not have been brought up. Or maybe they have and i’m just fancying myself being involved.
Nothing’s getting discussed there. The only people who’ve taken an active part are Liquid and Josrocket, and all Josh did was troll the entire thread with racist and sexist remarks trying to get a nonstudent to ban him so he’d get the club in trouble.

I was actually hoping more normal members would get involved in this discussion so that execs and advisers could see what the members think and get a broader view, but unfortunately i’m not seeing very many active at all.
Now you see our problem. If members don’t tell us we have a problem how are we supposed to know it exists?
When a handful of people show up here and post end of the world scenarios and preach that our decisions are terrible because of X reasoning, it’s hard for us to take them seriously when no one else cares enough to post in support of those statements. This is why we’re in the situation we’re in, half the EXECS weren’t active here and didn’t care enough to post when there were problems so no one else knew there were problems except those who hang in the commuter lounge, a small percentage of our overall population.

Only in America does a cop have to ask you permission before busting you for doing something illegal.
MasterP
ParticipantBecause you held a gun at some random point in the past does not mean you’re going to use that gun in a future crime. I hope they have more than that because that argument won’t last 10 seconds in court.

cops pull that double whammy *edited* all the time. My brother can attest to that. He was at home, minding his own business, just finished smoking a jay. Cop knocks on the door, explains that he’s there for a noise violation, gives my brother a ticket, and right before my brother shuts the door the cop stops him and asks, “How much marijuana do you have in your apartment?”. My brother looked at him like he was crazy, i mean he just finished his last joint. The cop without warning, enters my brothers apartment and calls in back up. They took my brother to jail for a roach. Now, you could say the cop smelled the smoke and therefore had enough of a cause to enter the apartment; or you could say the cop was a *edited* and had no right to take him to jail. how this relates to the topic i’ve now lost, but it seemed cool at the time. lol
So your argument is that the cop can’t arrest him because he smells the smoke and by your own admission he just finished smoking the last of an illegal narcotic?
That’s why I love you pro-marijuana guys. The whole “yeah it’s illegal but it shouldn’t be and isn’t fair so I’ll do it anyway and QQ when I get in trouble” thing makes me lol every time. The only reason I want it to stay banned is so you guys can keep making my day.

I think finding a weapon on them that they were planning on using is a legitimate crime, especially when it was well documented, because they were caught conspiring an attack(
That’s all well and good but the article doesn’t mention that they found weapons on them. In fact it doesn’t mention anything about the scene of their arrest at all. It doesn’t even mention that they actually found IED parts in their possession.
