I our club probably has more console players than PC and they are probably the same way.The impression I got was that they are actually forcing PCs to reduce in size even though they fill almost every slot but yeah they do have more consoles.

Ok cool, thanks Bitey. Oh and we have had some guys from APP come up and play during both of our LANs (Devin and Andrew)Last time they had more than 1 PC game we sent 10 PC and about the same consoles. They have yet to match that with one of ours.

ParticipantGundam Wing was the cutoff for epic win in that series. Everything earlier was made entirely of win and everything after Endless Waltz made of 2% meh and 98% near-fail.

Also it wouldn’t hurt to ask the new guys running apps club (since everyone’s in ruff times),, to see if WCU students could attend free since they are traveling, and we can return the favor if they come to our LAN events. If nothing else have us pay their member rate instead of the non-member rate. That would bring the cost to attend both LANs to about the same.

ParticipantI’ve yet to see lag worse than CSS.
At $30, there’s no reason not to own this game.

ParticipantTravel expenses aren’t a problem at all for me I’m just saying don’t depend on SGA for money.
MasterP
ParticipantWhy don’t they come to ours anymore? I love playing against them but this has to go both ways to work. I don’t remember seeing anyone from ASU at the last few LANs.
Also, hate to be a negative nancy but I wouldn’t count on SGA to fund our travel. Pretty much every department is broke.

HP is not good about updating video drivers, this coming from experience. They get a stable version and then stop releasing updates, as all other manufacturers do.
Nvidia says their driver works on the upper end of the 8000m series. If the HP driver doesn’t work you could always try it. Not like it’ll hurt anything. My mobile ATI card wasn’t specifically supported by the Omega Drivers release but it works great.

Valve makes some of the best, most stable games for the PC. They are tested pretty *edited* hard beforehand. But they cannot come up with every possible exploit before shipment and when they do find them, they can patch them instantly, unlike most developers.I don’t hate Steam because of their title release quality, almost all companies suck at this. I hate Steam because of the way they force out updates without testing them. I couldn’t play CSS for 6 months after an update 2 years ago because Steam.exe maxed out my processor and crashed whenever I turned any game on. Updated drivers, reinstalled from the CDs, hell I even reinstalled Windows. I know of about a dozen others that were in TAG at the time that had the same problem. Steam released an update that fixed “a few quirks” and magically the Omega drivers started working (the regular drivers still didn’t after the update). You have to admit that no matter how fast they are to fix it, Valve has a horrible reputation for breaking HL games with updates. Microsoft has yet to break one of their games with an update.
I also hate Steam with a fiery passion because I hate ALL programs that “let me use” the games I’ve already bought. If I buy a game I expect to be able to use it whenever I want. You yourself saw me get a “this game is not available at this time, please try again later” message at the mini-LAN last Friday. Why would a game I bought, that isn’t being updated or used in any way, be unavailable to me? Remember a few months back when everyone got the “you don’t own this game” message in TF2? Also, check the hard drive IO reads and writes for Steam.exe. You’ll find that within the first 5 minutes it has over 1 million reads AND writes, that’s some serious HD usage and is why I don’t idle on Steam.
You may hate Windows Live but when was the last time it said you didn’t own the game you were trying to play or that the game was unavailabe to be played? Hell at least you can play the Windows Live based games offline, most of the time I can’t play any of my Steam games offline because “offline mode is unavailable”.
Steam isn’t the force behind PC gaming. It’s a help but there are many others doing just fine in the PC market, proven by the sheer number of good games that either aren’t on Steam or have non-Steam based versions.
I will agree that Steam isn’t going under anytime soon but when it does it’s going to suck not “owning” the games that I’ve bought. If the Linksys router that runs the internet ever dies we’ll all be screwed out of all “our” games.

ParticipantIt’s an Nvidia mobile. The generic Nvidia driver from nvidia.com should do the trick.
Don’t use Windows Update for drivers unless absolutely necessary.

ParticipantWhen you uninstall video drivers you shouldn’t get any black or blue screens. Are you using the official Nvidia drivers?

lol you fags rip on WoW and you play D2.Notice how playing WoW is like buying another copy of D2 every month.
And no Major, you’ve never seen me speak positively about HC mode. I absolutely hate it. Whenever you’re in a party and something goes wrong it automatically becomes every man for himself. You have to admit, once you reach the 60-80 range you’d about do anything or screw anyone to keep from starting over.

Video 2: I know that the recipe for Coca-Cola differs from country to country, so our soda might be safe. Also, wouldn’t the sugar from the soda harm the plants?Yes the soft drinks are normally made locally and have VERY difference recipes. Plus you don’t know who is in charge of their production and bottling plants or in what ways they are going cheap to pocket money.
As for the sugar, I would think it wouldn’t be overly good for them but they may use some sort of sugar substitute or no sugar at all.

ParticipantSongs when connecting? I don’t think the game supports this. Maybe songs AFTER you’ve connected but at that point wouldn’t it *edited* you off if half of your first round was drowned out by music instead of gameplay?
