Free message boards were more secure than that 10 years ago. Absolutely unacceptable.

The words needed to describe this have left me. Sony has reached a point of failure I previously thought impossible.

That’s what happens when Majorx3 doesn’t post for a while.

About time. My developer PS3 has a ton of free, uh I mean “paid for”, content to catch up on.

The “welcome back” content is still unavailable. Gee, what a surprise…

Yeah the reference 6950s are a steal. Not sure if I’d buy one but the unlock “bug” is definately a game changer for that price range. Tbh, I think they did it on purpose to attract mid-range gamers away from Nvidia offerings.

It’s all about the dates. Whenever a gunlaw is witten they almost always allow weapons imported, built, or registered prior to the enactment to remain legal. That’s why you can still legally buy fully automatic M16s and MP5s, if the lower receiver was registered prior to the Firearm Owners Protection Act of 1986 then any upper or furniture used with it is also a legal part of the full auto weapon. They’re typically pretty expensive, in and around the $10-15,000 range depending on age and quality but nothing says GTFO my porch like a full auto, belt-fed M60.

That 40mm BOFOR is $145,000. Unfortunately, I don’t think it’s legal in NC. Our state went WAY out of its way to ban full automatics :(

Yeah, post a link to that vid.

The sheriff’s office has changed their story on this at least 5 times already and been caught in at least a half dozen lies, it wouldn’t surprise me if this is another attempt to avoid the inevitable wrongful death lawsuit or distract the ongoing DoJ investigation.

    Why did they ragequit?

Considering that they were freshmen it would be a fair guess that they’d never played in such a competitive environment and that can be a major turnoff for those who came to simply have fun with friends. I know in the past I’ve ragequit console tournaments over ridiculously fanboyish rulesets so maybe it’s time to take a giant step back and look at what will keep the students in the room. We don’t HAVE to use professional tournament rulesets, those were created with the understanding that people would get *edited*ed but there’d always be other players to take their place. We don’t have that luxury.

IMO the execs need to look over the attendance sheet and try to track down the ones that left and politely ask them why they left, what do they think needs changing, and if there’s anything you can do to get them to give us another try. That last one may look like begging them to come but trust me, it makes them feel wanted and when dealing with customers works almost every time. If they cooperate and give information that can be used to improve the club, offer them a discounted entry to the first event next semester. $3 entry or a “2 for 1” offer.

See this is where the Nintendo crowd has been getting screwed the last 6 years or so, no one ever pays their games any attention until an actually good game comes out then they scramble to port it to the other consoles. The Wii feels like an afterthought until it gets something nice then they care. Frustrating <_>

I hope they don’t plan on selling it for $60 because you can get the Wii version for $20 on Amazon. Upscaled graphics and 3D aren’t worth $40.

Depending on the game, the 6990 is 10-20% faster than the 5970.

The 6990 uses less power and is cooler while idle but under load the 5970 users less power and is cooler. The 5970 is quieter at idle or load.

Neither card is worth the price. Neither card is required to get acceptable framerates in today’s latest and greatest games.

IDK what you’ve been offered for the 5970 but when newegg stopped selling them they were around $600 and 6990 should be around $750.

If you actually care about what you’re throwing money at, you can get acceptable framerates, not the absolute BEST but still good enough to enjoy, with a $300 6950 or $200 GTX560.

Yeah if you have an extended battery and are still having heat issues you need to call Dell. That shouldn’t be happening.

I can guarantee that you’re one of the only 2 people here that would ever consider using 6 or more monitors on a home PC, the other being Josh Schwartz. Has nothing to do with the cost of the card itself and everything to do with having $1200+ in monitors.

I don’t think that makes a difference. All that does is remind me that my ATI card with eyefinity and 4 video ports only supports 2 monitors.

Since you have a Dell XPS I would call them and see what they say, the XPS line gets American support that knows wtf is going on. It needs to have the vents and fans cleaned but since it’s under warranty I’m hesitant to recommend you doing it yourself, if nothing else you can confirm that doing it yourself won’t void the warranty. You might also check to make sure a fan hasn’t died because 95°C is insane for a laptop. If you tell Dell support it gets that hot regularly they’ll definately want to look at it.

The parent is just upset that he now has to explain something complicated to his child. Actually, it’s really not all that complicated. If this guy thinks adoption is complicated to explain I can’t imagine how difficult he thinks the birds/bees conversation is going to be.

They thought Sony made the game, I lol’d. Now you know why I consider CBS to be fake news. The best local news in the Charlotte area is from the ABC and FOX affiliated stations, channels 9 and 11 for you Time Warner customers.

Even if they can only get the last 4 digits, it goes a long way in helping to crack the hashed database they got 3 weeks ago. That’s assuming the db was encrypted. Given the continual failure of Sony at anything involving the word security I’m leaning towards the notion that it wasn’t.

Seriously, the security team, fire them all. They don’t have a clue.

Once they can login into your account, can’t they go to your account profile and get your CC info?

Went with the Gamecom 367 I listed in the OP. Got it for $15 shipped from walmart.com using a gift card I had forgotten about :)

    Thanks for all the suggestions.

    Fair enough.

Sony seems to be giving a blanket 45 day bonus to SOE accounts but AFAIK their PC MMO games have plummeted and most are reporting weird lag spikes and trouble with forming parties. This is common when implementing newly developed security protocols but it usually only occurs in late alpha and very early beta stages, not in already released games with $14.99/month subscribers <_>
